8 MANSIONS BRIGHT MIRROR 八宅明镜 AT A GLANCE

Picture
Strange but true, most of us think that BaZhai or fondly known as 8 mansions techniques are Kindergarten stuff, these techniques are the most advanced stuff in YangGong method. Gone are the necessities to look at the water mouth with the true BaZhai and when you are able to discern to the correct Gua – you are able to dictate what is mountain and what is water indirectly dictate what your Xue positions is. This is where SanHe and SanYuan break apart and merged as a one and only solution. However, the true technique has been concealed beyond recognition.

Let’s take BaZhai MingJing (BZMJ) for instance. It is one of the most common and most corrupted textbook in this subject taking sources from all sorts of classics available at that time, adding chapters upon chapters by various authors. Some believes that it is a false method first designed by YiXing to pass it on to the barbaric nations of his time such as Japan and Korea only to return to the middle Kingdom to confuse the Chinese notably during the Qing Dynasty where people like Zhang BingLing marketed himself almost similar to those of our modern contemporaries.
What exactly is BaZhai MingJing?

Picture
The Fundamentals
The fundamentals of Li, Qi and Xiang, YinYang & WuXing, JiaZi, Xing and LiQi are the entire fundamental related to SanYuan. What is most interesting is, it discerns YinYang into the universal east and west house. It further discerns the 9 stars through the 8 houses but yet none of the template reflects the original positions of the 9 stars. No one can explain why ShengQi star 1 TangLang takes Zhen Gua wood star instead of SanYuan HeTu Qi water star? TianYi takes JuMen star 2 earth Gen Gua instead of the commonly known SanHe Kun Gua? The sum of all these inconsistencies only point to you that the obvious 8 Houses primary distribution of BaZhai stars are not in compliance to the backbone of Huge SanYuan and SanHe – thus it is never a genuine method to be used stock load and barrel. More importantly there is one passage that will never be included in most English literature on this subject such as Wang KenTang’s postulation on BaZhai auspiciousness and inauspiciousness. It attempts to look at BaZhai as the macro aspect of DaGua – comparing the house Gua with palace / room Gua in a strict SanYuan manner. Yet it did not attempt to explain as to why HeTu Qi combination takes TangLang 1 star as wood Qi instead of water Qi? Here, at least you know that someone from the Qing aristocrat has muddled in this classics that is purportedly written by Yang YongSung? For most of the important aspect, one will easily overlook the Early Heaven sequence in Later Heaven BaGua as the body and implying Early Heaven BaGua with it Later Heaven sequence as its applications. This is all Wang KenTang trying to say…
House Matters
Picture
The opening premise, “the house sitting mountain (Gua) is its FuWei” and the Main Door’s Xue is the priority, Bedroom location is second priority and the Bed’s Xue is the third priority. It implies that Sitting Gua matching Life Gua – is compatible. West Life people must live in west house and East Life people must live in east house. This is the most devious means to break family members apart in the pretext of Good FengShui. Such postulation cannot be true. Both SanHe and SanYuan take house as a container and if the container is able to collect Qi – it is good FengShui in regardless who lives in it. The manner in which it receives Qi is prescribed in the later chapter and the crucial points are the components of 6 matters or necessities must match Life Gua for personal FengShui rather than the overall house FengShui. Strangely, date selections are based on SanHe frames activating the BaZhai stars instead of the complicated DaGua system. It is already suggesting that its fundamental is to match earth Xue with heaven Xue. Discussing Life Gua is shown as a full blown SanYuan YuanKong Purple White arranging JiaZi through the upper, middle and lower period. Mind you, it is always 3 periods not 2 periods although it is strongly rooted on the 8 Guas and not the 11-x for male or 4+x for the female rules of thumbs.

Picture
Gua, Star Relationships
The common mantra Early Heaven as the principle, Later Heaven as the application. In BaZhai the Body is the Earth Plate and the Application is the Heaven Plate relationship. Earth Plate referred to the Later Heaven BaGua and Heaven Plate related to Purple White Star (Heaven Qi). This is not accurate. Earth Plate refers to the SanHe frames while Heaven Plate refers to the SanYuan Qi – this is where the earth Xue meets heaven Xue so to allow you to derive the ONE Gua XieZi. Is it obvious? No way!
House Form and Alternate BaZhai Star Assignments
This is a Form Assessment based on XingSha, Multitier configurations, compartmentalization and Door types. It hinted that Forms take precedents over Formula. It prescribed Secondary and Tertiary methods of BaZhai Stars allocation – Primary (base on House Seating), Secondary (Door Location), Tertiary (Highest Room). Rather strange that in applications there are various method to raised FuWei. Raise FuWei is a method of measuring Xue locations and must it stop at tertiary? This chapter also suggested the uses of “Sky Well” or Court Yard to receive Qi. It also suggests obvious Killing Qi based on House Facing – SanHe BaLu HuangGuan or Eight Roads of Destruction. Rather strange for a SanYuan method conforming a SanHe Killing Qi? What happened to the SanYuan Robbery Sha instead? It goes to show that the 4 fundamental structures are indispensible in SanYuan. Without the Heaven Plate in the SanYuan LuoPan, how do you measure the 4 water mouths?
Cure
Forms cure forms, Qi cures Qi. In this chapter it prescribed how BaZhai Qi such as ShengQi descends on WuGui, TianYi imposes on JueMing, YanNian subduing LiuSha – 3 auspicious subduing 3 Inauspicious. Implied FuWei subdues HuoHai. Qi cures Qi in its elemental relationships. However, it is a mistake if it is taken at face value. The truth is face prosperous sits weakening – something that is so fundamentally crucial in the Direct Spirit and Indirect Spirit principles.
Palace Counter Stars
Palace Counter Stars with Guest (Star) and Host (Palace) relationship. Discerning YinYang of the BaZhai stars one aspect being Auspicious is Yang, Inauspicious is Yin based on Later Heaven BaGua YinYang. These YinYang between star and palaces form the 1s layer of compatibility, elemental counter/producing forms 2nd layer of compatibility and so forth. Layers within layers liked an onion.

Picture
Incoming Path
Discerning YinYang of the 24 mountain Xu-Chen being the YinYang Boundary with Yang (East) and Yin (West). Why it uses Xu-Chen as the YinYang threshold and not Chou and Wei? YuanKong Divination techniques using 6 Yao Hexagram is used to evaluate auspiciousness where the Main Entrance / Stove mouth construct the 1st Yao, from incoming path as 2nd Yao to outgoing path as 3rd Yao, House Facing Gua is the 4th – 6th Yao or the upper trigram. Hexagram’s lower trigram and upper trigram is evaluated between Life Gua and BaZhai Star relationship. This is where BZMJ suggested that if you cannot change the House sitting Gua, change the door facing and if other fails, just move the stove around until you get an auspicious Gua matching. This is called the mystical YangGong Stove method to expedite children and wealth. This is a whole subject by itself. What it is most interesting but not expressly told is that the Location of the Main Door is of paramount important to match the Life Gua yet silence on if it is for the male or the female?

Stove Direction & Room Location
Stars in Palaces
Details on stove mouth facing, room allocation and various construction matters were mentioned in BZMJ. Life Gua – Marriage, children, Illness and Disaster – Life Gua permutation based on JiaZi Year pillar. Uses Life Gua matching BaZhai Stars to predict marriage, children, illness and disaster. Prohibitions – Getting away from inauspicious outcomes.

Stars in Palaces or the 24 stars to examine External Water comprises of 2 parts as the first, being called Shining Water Classics and the second, being called Jade Carriage Classics. Jade Carriage Classics is borrowed from the Yin FengShui placement of HouTu to be applied to Yang FengShui Door placement techniques.

Shining Water Classics
Star and Palace relationship is based on Shining Water Classics. It uses secondary BaZhai Star distribution techniques to analyse relationship between Gua of the Main Door location to the door Gua location of the other rooms. The outcomes affect the related family member – Palace Counter Palace. Portends – ShengQi benefits eldest, TianYi benefits second, YanNian benefits youngest. Same applies to JueMing (eldest male), WuGui (eldest son), HuoHai (middle son), LiuSha (youngest son).

 Jade Carriage Classics
BZMJ did not spell out NaJia BaGua as a method to locate the Main Door and instead it employs Jade Carriage Classics to determine the favourable and non-favourable location for water exit. This must be read in tandem with the SanHe 4 water mouths approach. First, the Jade Carriage prescribed the 24 stars with the fixed order lead by a lead star (Fortune, Epidemic, Wealth, Illness, Lawsuits, Knight, Noble, Hang, Village, Thriving, Execution, Madness, Argument, Silkworm, Farm, Weeping, Lonely, Widow, Glorious, Premature Death, Prostitute, InLaws, Extinction, Prosperous). It did not explain where or how these stars come into the picture. It is a prescribed poem assumedly taken from some distance ShenSha text. If you care to take a close scrutiny it prescribed assigning of the 24 stars to the 24 mountains based on House sitting Gua to determine where the lead star is to reside and these mountains are generally the stables (Yin, Si, Shen and Hai) and Ren, Kun, Ding and Geng. No reason given as to the manner it is orderly assigned to generate the 24 mountain charts that show where to open door, water exit, locate toilet and so forth.

It however doesn’t stop there. By virtue of such door location, it evaluate its effects on water flow based on WuYin (5 sounds), BaGua, BaZhai stars, mountain and facing 8 dragon’s Qi, incoming path, Yao imagery, Year Gua and auspicious stars. It is a matrix that consolidates various applications of other methods into a collective whole without telling you how and why!
To cross it all, it suggests that it must conform to the SanHe water methods – 4 major water mouths uses the 12 growth phases and Later Heaven water method as in the Earth Studies Five Principles. The entire SanHe corpus must be employed to make this Jade Carriage work. Think of it, is the author serious or nuts mixing all techniques into a salad bowl?
Picture
Purple White Stars
Well, it just don’t stop right there. BZMJ suggests that the Purple White Stars – Replacement star method based on the sitting Gua must be employed to make sure that it is feasibly timely. These replacement stars are evaluated against each of the palaces YinYang and elemental relationships within the LoShu to derive auspiciousness and inauspiciousness. In summary, the outcome is an oversized onion with many layers of theories or methods squeezed together to determine the right door!

Eight Mansions In Application
To Move or Not Move

Eight mansions were also known as YiGua FengShui because it uses extensively predetermination of auspiciousness and ill fates based on the BaGua more specifically, the GuaQi. GuaQi may sounds like rocket sciences but truly a simple logic of permutation between early heaven BaGua with the numerology of LoShu. Such basis are shared between other system of FengShui, notably XuanKong DaGua.

Unlike their counterpart which is the famous XuanKong FlyingStar (XKFX)  which is about 100 years old, XKFX is predominantly based on later heaven BaGua intertwined with LoShu. So technically both of these systems do not come together. They cannot gel because both fundamentals are different. Any force fitting will only make them, nice on theory awkward in application.  So, it is not very surprising to hear that there are new theories such as YiJing FlyingStar, YiJing BaGua, QiMen FlyingStar to reinvent the wheel which is deemed unnecessary. The closest attempt is the use of XuanKong LiuFa but it has again fails to determine, could the arrow of time flies backward? On this account, there is no way a frail attempt to say, XKDG is the principle and XKFX is the application, could be justified because, these systems had different fundamentals, to begin with.

Eight mansions had earned its status of notoriety for being simple in application, complicated in justification. Could easily be written off as bullshit FengShui method but until now, no authentic masters are able to do so. There was also claim that EightMansions was invented to con the barbaric neighbors during Tang Dynasty. It was at one time called 'kindergarten' FengShui method but it is utter shameful that such kindergarten status was a foundation for more complicated system liked XKDG to rest on. So by implication, if one fails to apply EightMansion, one also know nuts about XKDG. That is an irony.

There are basically 2 methods of Eight Mansions that are widely known. One uses the Life Gua as the basis while the other, the House Gua. A Life Gua is determined from the year of birth of a person, more accurately its age. Whereas a House Gua is based on the sitting Gua of a house. There are basically two halves, one called west group while the other east group, for ease of discussion.

One attempt is to match the house Gua with its residents's Life Gua. It sounds perfect that a west group life should reside in a west group house. But how often could we get husband and wives are of the same Gua? Being the breadwinner, the husband Gua will take precedent over his wife. As a result the incompatibility of the wife's Gua will result in domestic nightmares. So, it cannot be right!

True enough, it is because of our lack of understanding. Trying to 'fix' it using early and later heaven trigrams association will only make matter worst. The older masters of the FuJian lineage stressed that the correct answers rest in the understanding of the trigram Qian and Kun. Knowing such, Life Gua matching of house Gua is no longer an issue. Similarly husband and wife of different Gua sharing the same bed is also not an issue. That is a reason why a throughout understanding of YiJing is essential.

Infact, the true corpus of Eight Mansions are complete in its original forms with its YinYang and the sort. It also has its own time factor, meaning every building has its life span. Every building's luck undergoes it designated up and down just liked one's BaZi. It has its own method of date selection unlike what is commonly known of the 3 combinations as BaZhai MingJing. The true 'KungFu' is how would one maintain the auspicious luck cycle of the building before it goes downward. Definitely, it does not succumb to taking TangLang as wood Qi.

When opportunity arise, we shall discuss why a formidable SaYuan system liked 8 mansions does not concern how Qi flows.
Picture
Movement and Stillness, these are the two words that are simple yet complicated.

"It begins with movement; hardly can see a thing, when it comes to stillness, all begin to understand. When one sees stillness as the essential marvel, how may one knows that movement is the foundation?"

A competent practitioner would utilize an unfavorable sector to his advantages. A competent BaZi consultant would also use the negative gods. Beginners’ mistake is to equate the use of Eight Mansions with Flying Stars. These are two methods with different fundamentals. Eight Mansions stem from Early Heaven while Flying Stars stem from Later Heaven. Not surprising if someone were to asked, “What if the sector has a JueMing but yet a favorable 8 wealth star?”

Eight Mansions talked about Gua Qi, elemental relationship. Flying Stars talked about GuaXiang, imagery. The Classics state, “The Gua imagery is established on the basis of their meanings; understand the images and forget the words – the idea is clear of itself. The whole world delusively clings to the imagery; uses GuaQi and rise in levitation.” The elusive meaning of GuaQi remains the key, which many teachers refused to depart.

Evaluating internal spaces, GuaQi remains an important factor. What would be the reference for the interior? Such is called the YinYang boundary. It is the point to distribute the stars. The strangest thing is why must the reference be located at the center? Why must the Wedge be placed at the center? Why must one even smack the 9 Grids forcefully into the house plan as though there is a physical boundary between Qi? What if the physical demarcation of architectural walls differs from the 9 Grids? Why must there be even Grid Vs Wedge? Such reflects the lack of understanding in FengShui fundamentals.

The grid and wedge are simultaneously deployed. The wedge referred to the art of LiPan, establishing the LuoPan. The Grid is an aid of accessing Qi maps. While drawing up Qi maps and establishing the LuoPan became the integral part of a competent practitioner, many were not taught the proper way of doing such. To convince one that Qi moves as LoShu would not guarantee one’s application of eight mansions or FlyingStar is correct. The key is not with LoShu, but to understand how Qi spirals in 3 dimensions and work thereof. Such will work perfectly with whatever given architectural plans.

Only then, would the knowledge of stillness and movement work within the misconstrued Direct/Indirect Spirits, another malicious subject. In summary, Internal FengShui is all about the art of identifying internal Qi maps, activating, receiving or transforming  through the various essentials of a Yang Dwelling.

Saying thus, the success rate is still within its external!

Problem With Eight Mansions
Picture
Picture
This method is considered to be the simplest forms of FengShui methodology. So simple that some experts reckoned it to be a flawed method. How could one be possible of dividing people into 2 sectors of East and West house? Made popular by the book called BaZhai MingJing or Eight Mansions Bright Mirror, some claimed to be authored by the monk YiXing while others, to be coming from the grandmaster Yang, it is subject to debate. However, the inevitable question remains, is BaZhai or Eight Mansions a SanHe or a SanYuan method?

If it is a SanYuan method, why is the element annexed to the stars such as ShengQi takes TangLang (wood) instead of 1-6 (water) in accordance to the HeTu? TangLang star form in SanHe is a wood star. So, it must be a SanHe methodology. Such may not be true?

Yet, it is not SanHe per se. Practitioners of XuanKong DaGua (XKDG) understand that Eight Mansions is the macro view of XKDG. DaGua being the Hexagram of the YiGua (not YiJing), consist mainly of lower trigram being the host and upper trigram being the guest. In this case the host remains constant as the sitting Gua of a house. Therefore a house Gua remains valid in the application. Whereas the guests are the transformed Gua (wandering stars) or flipping trigrams. With both Trigrams it forms a Hexagram. This is DaGua when it is annexed to the Gua Qi and Gua Yun, in a macro view. So it must be SanYuan.

To illustrate such, take a Kun sitting house as an example. We cast a natal chart based on the LoShu and sitting of a house, in this case, Kun house. Based on the flipping method we superimposed the Eight Mansions star into the LoShu. Then we superimposed the Eight Mansion star as DaGua into the LoShu. Do you see the consistency as to why there are only 4 favorable stars and 4 unfavorable stars?
Saying thus, it opens up to myriads issues worth investigating. Is our theory wrong or simply our applications going so wrong? One conclusion, Eight Mansion is not as simple as it appears to be.On another note, do you really knows what make a ShengQi really growing Qi and not just name sake? What is the quality of YanNian and the qualifying factors of TianYi and not just those descriptions found on the books available in the market. It is all in the DaGua itself.

Predisposition of 8 Mansions
Predisposition - is a very big Concept with various interpretations. The common synonym would be inclination. Various method in FengShui has various means of predisposition for an individual. For example, in the 8 Mansions, individuals are classified as East and West Life predispositions. An East Life person ideally must live in an East House. Similarly, a West Life person must stay in a West House. Mismatching denotes bad FengShui.

Common ways of profiling such predisposition is as the following example: -

A male born in 1972. Numerically, add up 1+9=10, round up to 1 plus, 7+2=9, giving a grand total of 10, round up again to 1. Take the constant 11-1=10, round up to 1 again. So this person has the predisposition of 1, taking the Gua imagery of Kan.

Have one ever ask, where the hell has this formula comes about?
Why a male  predisposition must be subtracted by 11 while the female predisposition must be added by 4? What is the basis of this predisposition?

Here is the CLUE: -

  1. 8 Mansions has the similar SanYuan roots as its counterpart XuanKong. The basis is within the LoShu of the Greater SanYuan and nothing even closed to ErYuan. A person's predisposition must be determined via the upper, middle or lower Yuan of its year of birth.
  2. A person's gender determines the YinYang cycle of the Greater SanYuan.
  3. Also matching the GuaQi of the reigning period.
  4. Replacing thus, we obtained the Gua number or predisposition of the person.

So, to simplify matters, such a complex calculation has been made into an arithmetical formula. Unfortunately, without realizing such, do we still call 8 Mansions as a SanHe method?
Picture
Even More Story On the Predisposition of 8 Mansions
Luck is always related to the Month branch. The luck predisposition of a person is annexed to the season. Generally 2 types – the Hot predisposition and the Cold predisposition, a complete TaiQi.

These 2 types are further subcategories into its YinYang correlatively brings about the 4 imageries namely: -

1. Minor Hot (after Beginning of spring before Beginning of summer)
2. Major Hot (after Beginning of summer before Beginning of autumn)
3. Minor Cold (after Beginning of autumn before Beginning of winter)
4. Major Cold (after Beginning of winter before Beginning of spring)

Regardless of the Day Master of a person, such luck predispositions are able to give a generalization gauge of luck for a person through the years,.luck cycle, months and seasons. So to speak, a Major Hot predisposition person is likely to be going through a roller coaster in the season of water, HeTu Luck of water and so forth, while benefitted in the season of metal and so forth. Whereas a Minor Hot predisposition person is likely to favor wood and fire seasons while avoiding metal and water seasons.

So, predisposition based on the month is the measurement of Heaven Qi. Compounding with the Life Gua of a person, the reading is more accurate.

This is one simple reason why you need to know BaZi before you can read FengShui.

More Story On the Predisposition of 8 Mansions
8 Mansions predisposition is based on the Year pillar. The stem branch system of the four pillars is a classic example of defined Yang Heaven above Yin Earth below, not entirely the representation of the Early Heaven arrangement.

Taking the postulation that year is the root and the succession hour is the fruit, the year pillar is reflective of the incoming dragon. 8 Mansions predisposition is based on the Year pillar as dragon represents the measurement of Earth Qi – FengShui. By the same token, the 3 cycles or SanYuan is the measurement of Earth Qi. It will be a little strange if we over emphasized that SanYuan measures only Heaven Qi. This is entirely misleading.

Another form of predisposition is based on the Month pillar. The month is the branch reflective of the mountain. If the Year pillar is the Greater Yang, then the Month pillar is the Greater Yin. Mountain is influenced by the cycle and phases of the moon. It measures the temporal Qi of a person. Ever wonder why a person’s luck pillar starts from the month instead of the others? By the same token, if one wants to change a person’s luck, which predisposition one has to account for?

The Root of The Eight Mansions (BaZhai)
Some one told me that The BaZhai that is taught in the market today is not what it is suppose to be. Not many people know that there is the EH part and the LH part. The EH governs the “mountain” aspect and the LH governs “water” aspect. From each type of houses, we determine the LH and EH of the house. From here, we can seek to read and predict the happenings of occupants within the property.

Similarly on a defunct Chinese Metaphysic Website called Element V, it was stated that “. …many are not aware that the BaZhai method should not be used for commercial premises. It is an end-user product for relationships, and meant for application to residential dwellings only. I should add that BaZhai applications are based on the Early Heaven Gua, not the Later Heaven Gua, as commonly taught. And the same system can also be used for predicting and analyzing events.”

A further infusion of such, was a timely essay from HHC entails the trilogy of Door, Bed and the Stove, seizing up the confused aroma of the classical texts that consist of RuDiYen, BaZhai 4 Books, Complete Text of BaZhai, Classic on the Arrival of the Golden Light Star and BaZhaiMingJing, painting the setting, but not dwelling into roots of BaZhai.

So what is the roots of BaZhai?

Analysis Into Zhang BingLing SanHe Methodology
Picture
Investigating FengShui methodology is among others, a tricky exercise, especially when there is more then one method is employed. The pedigree of the master concerned speaks for itself usually from the journal he kept. In this instance, a ZhongHe practitioner Zhang BingLing has been introduced as a SanHe practitioner of whom this is quite misleading. Coming from the Fujian province, a stronghold of SanYuan, my opinion is that he was from a SanYuan pedigree instead. Therefore, it will only be natural to review his record in accordance to consistency and coherency of the idea he put forth and match against the scale of major external to micro internal based on a sampling of Ren sitting case study.

Major external:

The diagram indicates a landform of a Xue sitting Ren facing Bing. It was recorded as Ren in the centre of the Phoenix formation. Bing location is the table mountain in the goldfish formation. The green dragon denotes Tai Yi and white tiger Tian Yi. Shen is the exiting water mouth. Incoming Dragon from Gen. The tiger embrace should be lower to reach auspicious position at terminal, and should be hollow and not full.

Chan BingLing’s rationale:

Water obtains Yang Fire.
Gold Division: Xin Hai (Metal), Xin Si (Metal)
Gold Division: Ding Hai (Earth), Ding Si (Earth)

Poem: Ren Sitting faces towards the Xue. Gen is where the Ancestor Mountains are. Kan position has auspicious star formation same as Gen position. Incoming from Jia exiting at Shen, then generations of descendents will be noble, illustrious and flourishing.

Picture
Criticism:

If one notices, the gold division of choices limited to Ding, Bing, Xin and Geng does not base on the 72 Dragons rings. Therefore, it cannot base on YangGong methodology. If it is sitting Ren between Xin Hai and Ding Hai it will fall into the Emptiness line of the 72 Dragons. Therefore it is never a good choice from a YangGong perspective.

The water structure he employed is Fire frame of Yin Wu Xu, exiting at Shen being sickness. In the YangGong perspective he must choose a Xue which is also fire frame. However Ren sitting is not fire even if it is based on his preferred gold divisions which are either Metal or Earth. So, there is no consistency in terms of the 12 growth water matching the Xue Sitting and how can it be SanHe?

The robbery killing force is a typical 8 killing forces for SanYuan. In the case of sitting Kan, the 8 killing forces are from Chen and Xu, there is where he recommended the stove to be positioned. Kun is the early heaven 8 killing forces he termed as termination. Likewise, such methods are the SanYuan dragon gate 8 formations and not SanHe and definitely not YangGong method. YangGong old method does not recognise 8 killing forces, 8 road of destructions and other similar theory, of which were claimed to be re-engineered for the consumption of the Manchurians.

Analysis Into Zhang BingLing SanHe Methodology 2

Immediate External Water Method:

Ren Sitting, Bing Facing.
Water Placement (well) at Yin
Gold Division: Xin Hai, Xin Si
Gold Division: Ding Hai, Ding Si
Water direction: Right to Left, Ding – Bing – Xun (Exit)

Poem:

Yang Dwelling water mouth receiving at Ding, motion produce Authority at Imperial Stables. When the Master uses this formation, wealth and glory would be everlasting.

Criticism:

There is no sign of 12 growth stages included in the woodblock. Assuming this was the techniques, the objective is to obtain Officer, wealth and nobility, sitting Metal frame, Ding receiving Youth water, Bing activating Officer water and exits at Xun which is Prosperity, which is forbidden. Assuming it is a Earth Xue, receiving weakening water, activating sickness water and exiting at death. Possible, but not encourage able, as incoming could have been from prosperity. So, there is no consistency between the methods applied in the major external with the immediate external.

Alternatively, if we look at Earthly Principles Five Verses, exiting at Xun and Si are major 8 road of destruction, crash into officer palace, kills and making the owner to be a bankrupt, almost opposite from the intention of the poem.

Well location at Yin possible of activating the Sky Horse formation and in this case expediting inauspiciousness? A very possible choice, assuming it is in an auspicious formation. Therefore, how SanHe could it possibly be?
