THE SPRING OX DIAGRAM 春牛图
The 1st page of the Almanac 通勝, will show you the Spring Ox diagram 春牛图. It is a pictorial composition of a Spring Ox 春牛, the Oxherd or known as the Spirit of Spring 芒神 and its agricultural surrounding. One may asked, why Ox and not Pig? The reason is, given the context of an agrarian community, the Ox is the powertrain and this pictorial diagram is to inform the illiterate farmer of the outcome of the year. The Oxherd 芒神 can be portray as a youth or an Oldman. His attire tells one a whole lots of things regarding the weather of that particular year.
MOTHER EARTH CLASSIC 地母经
The Spring Ox diagram 春牛图 will not be able to tell you the fortune of the year. The fortune of the year is revealed only to the literate through the poem of ‘mother earth’ 地母经.
SANHE EIGHT MANSIONS ?
We wrote this early last month and guess what, we actually found one school claimed lineage of Eight Mansions back to the Qin and Han Dynasty… No Joke! We are very close to some other schools claim Eight Mansions back to the Zhou Dynasty…Very interesting observation on Eight Mansions... garnishing a stale plate, we asked?
Just because someone taught BaZhai and claimed the originality back to the Tang Dynasty, it is called SanHe BaZhai 三合八宅... If someone else is teaching BaZhai and claimed originality since Zhou Dynasty, what would it called? Where do BaZhai 八宅 comes from? The Classics of Dwelling 皇帝宅经？Since when SanHe 三合 plays with GuaQi 卦气？
How to establish the House Gua 宅卦？ Sitting 坐 or Seating 座？Where to measure, Door 门？What make one think the door is the 玄關 or it is entirely different thing such as the Entry Foyer? Has anyone actually measure House Gua 宅卦 by standing 3 feet away from the door or from the middle of the property? If that true try measure a shopping mall using BaZhai with all the doors and a huge space that you can't even see the door... Which door sitting do you use as your ZhaiGua 宅卦？
How do you assign your BaZhai Qi map 八宅氣圖 to the floor plan, pie versus grid? Simply smacked into your floor plan and repeat the same for the floor above?
Why BaZhai ShengQi 八宅生氣 is TangLang Wood star 貪狼木星 not TangLang Star One White Water star 貪狼一白水星？Use BaZhai remedy using 5 elements interplay 五行生克？ Must be joking... What makes FuWei 福位 better compared to WuGui 五鬼? Perhaps, how do you raise FuWei, sitting or facing?
If we think that BaZhai 八宅 is like Shen's Flying Star 玄空飞星 and pretend all the apartment units share the same chart based on the sitting and facing of the entire building, how many "client" had this "master" betrayed?
The questions simply does not end here... it only shows how confused practitioners are with regard to this system...if one cannot truly grasp the actual application to this techniques, better denounce Chinese Metaphysics and do stamp collecting instead. Don't waste time learning from the academies...
Saying that, we found - Later Heaven School of Yang Dwelling 后天派阳宅, the one school that merge eight mansions with SanHe… so technically they should be called, SanHe BaZhai 三合八宅 instead…
Later Heaven School of Yang Dwelling 后天派阳宅 was claimed to be originated in the Qin and Han Dynasties. It also claimed to be as the same lineage as the HuangShi Gong ancient FengShui 黄石公古风水 system (Wow… even predates Yang YunSong). Contradictory to its pedigree as claimed, it has really nothing to do with Later Heaven BaGua (surprise... surprise!). The term Later Heaven only referred to as the teaching that came much later incorporating the “original” eight mansions and SanHe Four Major Water Mouths.
The history of the practice was rather murky but some school claimed it has been continued in the mainland China via secret communications post cultural revolution (can you believe that?). When the Kuomintang retreated to Taiwan in 1945, it was brought to Taiwan by the sole lineage holder, the late Li HuShan 李胡山仙师 at that time. In Taiwan the arts developed further or rather flourish (whatever go to Taiwan will flourish).
The FengShui of the YinYang Dwelling based on Later Heaven School of Yang Dwelling 后天派阳宅 was derived from Daoism (any kind of FengShui that derived from Christianity please let us know). In the Qing dynasty, this knowledge was published in the form of books during the middle period of the dynasty, QianLong era (now, whatever deemed popular during this era must be taken with a large pinch of salt). It has been spread throughout. Before and after the 1980s, cross-strait relations eased, and the late Li HuShan 李胡山仙师 returned to his root back to China, but the lineage before him was somewhat difficult to trace (very convenient truth). He was survived by his daughter’s side of the family but since they had already married out into other families, and no other relatives that survived were around, his knowledge was due to be lost in time. At that time, the late Li HuShan was in his very old age. In order for the arts to be handed down for posterity, Li HuShan was willing to accept disciples elsewhere.
Zhou WenWang 周文王 founder of the ZhouYi 周易 appointed Jiang TaiGong 姜太公 as the Royal Advisor 国师. Jiang emphasise on YinYang 阴阳 and Five Elements 五行.
YinYang 阴阳 has three Qi 三气 or SanCai 三才– Heaven, Human and Earth, such as: -
1. Yang Dwelling (Human) emphasis is on Growing Qi 生旺之气.
The Growing Qi 生旺之气 is dependable on the Eight Mansion Auspicious Stars 八宅吉星 arriving at the door sector based on the sitting of the mansion 宅座. Therefore, a mansion’s Gua 宅卦 can be different from the Door Location Gua 门卦 and produce a different eight mansions star 八宅星 arriving at the door. The other theories on eight mansions八宅 are of no different from those that are available in the market but how they determine the mansion’s Gua 宅卦, which later it is taken as main star 主星 instead, is a closely guarded secret as it must be derived from the Floor, as a result from the Building and in return of such as a result from the environment or land form.
2. Land form (Earth) related to Portal Prosperous Qi 关旺之气;
Landform (Earth) and by the same token, Yin Dwelling are assessed differently. The Portal Prosperous Qi 关旺之气 is dependable on the SanHe Four Major Water Mouth Auspicious Stars 三合四大水口吉星 matching the Facing of the Grave 阴宅向. Some variant within the same school, however promoted the Sitting Mountain坐山 instead must be produced by the 4 major water mouth formation 三合四大水口. Therefore, a Yin mansion’s Gua 阴宅卦向 or land form are derived upon the 4 major water mouths 24 mountains sub division into:
As to how they derived such subdivision, is obviously from the 12 Growth Phases Double Mountain narrowed down to the 3 mountains - governed by one Gua. These are also called Three Mountains Six Line consideration 三山六线. The question again is how you measure the “portal” 关 that is yet, another closely guarded secret.
Having establish Facing, the opposite is sitting. The 24 mountains plate (External Plate – Heaven Ring) each mountain has its own Five Elements. They called this the the BaGua gold division 八卦分金 that are divided into metal, wood, water, fire, and earth – 5 Elements or they nicknamed it as the Five Lines – 五线, (so that it sounds sexy, maybe). In their lineage LuoPan it was colour coded. Some explained that these Five Lines – 五线 were derived from XuanKong Five Great Element 大玄空五行 (Very strange?). 24 mountains XuanKong Five Great Element 大玄空五行 determines the 4 major water mouth formation 三合四大水口 (please don’t panic … calm down, more surprises to come).
3. Temples (Heaven) has the power to Prosper and to Dissolve 杀旺之气.
This school took the general view that only temple can receive Killing Qi杀旺之气 of any kinds. The Prosper and to Dissolve 杀旺之气 is dependable on the Eight Mansion Inauspicious Stars 八宅凶星 arriving at the door sector based on the sitting of the mansion 宅座 or more appropriately the main star 主星. Therefore, a mansion’s Gua 宅卦 or main star 主星 can be different from the Door Location Gua 门卦 and produce a different eight mansions star 八宅星 arriving at the door and temple would prefer to tap into inauspicious star instead. Because temple is usually taken as an entire building, the conditions govern land form also applies.
Furthermore there are the classifications to the art of application as in Stillness 静, Floor 楼, Deity 神, Work 工, Wind 风 as these are the closely guarded secrets terminologies of where and how to measure the reference point, main star 主星. Each typology require different reference points such as: -
1. Stillness 静, apply to Flat Layout – Plan or detached landed house. The Room as Host 以房为主.
2. Floor 楼, apply to the multi-storey building. Star as Host 以星为主, Yang Dwelling multi-storey have a separate set of 5 elements (HeTu).
3. Deity 神, apply to temple. Flipping Trigram as Host 反卦为主.
4. Work 工, apply to the entire factory building, BaGua as Host 以八卦为主.
5. Wind 风, apply to Yin Dwelling or Graves, the 9 stars communication as Host 以九星沟通为主 based on the transformation 5 elements to establish facing in obtaining water. In other word, using the SanHe Four Major Water Mouth 三合四大水口 to establish facing or producing the sitting of the grave.
Each classifications to the art of application has its own methodology. If you understand well each of these methodologies, you will understand the secrets of the 3 Yi三易, namely ZhouYi周易, LianShan Yi 连山易, GuiChang Yi 归藏易. LianShan Yi 连山易 and GuiChang Yi 归藏易 are known as the mid heaven Gua. As the application of this art vested in how you identify the useful god 用神 as it is called the main star 主星, it is therefore how you apply the mid heaven Gua 中天卦 to control (later heaven 后天) what is uncontrollable (early heaven 先天).
These were summarized as "The wind and rain, the wonders of the mountains and the seas, the long flowing of water, the rivers and its banks, are of the one family"「呼风唤雨、山海奇观、源水长流、江河一家」. (In other words, all those things that made your head spins).
1) Eight Mansions 八宅
Later Heaven School of Yang Dwelling 后天派阳宅 demonstrated how watered down and superficial the Eight Mansions 八宅 that are circulated in the masses to date, such as the popular Yang Dwelling Three Necessities 《阳宅三要》, Yang Dwelling Great Formation 《阳宅大成》 and so on, these are the many false books for the public consumption. It claimed that during the Tang Dynasty, YiHang一行 forged a Fake FengShui book to be given to the barbarians for posterity. As a result of these fake doctrines, eight mansions as we knew today were all fake techniques.
When Eight Mansions brought down to the Qing Dynasty, a book called Eight Mansions Bright Mirror 八宅明鏡 was written. A house Gua 宅卦 is dependable on sitting 坐山 to rise FuWei 伏位. A house Gua 宅卦 is the reference point to determine the East and West groups of the eight mansions. No regards were given to the external effects of the land form and they are purely formula. It has not taken into consideration of the LianShan Yi 连山易 and GuiChang Yi 归藏易.
2) Four Major Water Mouth 四大水口
Yin House: It is available in YangGong FengShui 楊公風水, but it is not enough. It is necessary to include the application of LianShan Yi 连山易 and GuiChang Yi 归藏易, that is, after consideration such, only 48 gold divisions 分金 can be used and the 72D 龍 are rendered useless.
On the onset, when we investigated this branch of FengShui school, it looks like this school salvages all the other FengShui popular methods available and somehow stitched them together and give it a new name called Later Heaven School 后天派. It lacked the finest and the elegant of a complete doctrine of which can easily be traced from the evolution of the LuoPan rings.
However, this school attempted to garnish the stale plate of eight mansions by giving us a different perspective at defining the reference point, instead of the House Gua 宅卦 or the Life Gua 命卦, it introduces to us, a relatively new term - Main Star 主星 that almost vividly remind us of XuanKong Flying Star 玄空飞星. The definition of this Main Star 主星 is almost liked catching the Useful God 用神 of the House 宅. Different context will warrant different means to catch the Useful God 用神. As a result, given the context of Stillness 静, Floor 楼, Deity 神, Work 工, Wind 风, the Main Star 主星 or reference points are all different. It became a flux. This is only true when you investigate the notion of a House 宅. So, a House 宅 is not only define by its sitting and facing alone, but how the Main Star 主星 distributes its natal eight mansion chart and such give rise to 64 possible permutation, reminded us of 64 DaGua 大卦. But saying such, they don't actually use Gua 卦 as their reference point. Instead they use Stem and Branch 干支.
On land form, this school borrowed YangGong FengShui 楊公風水 Four Major Water Mouth 四大水口 minus the 72D. On top of it, they apply another layer of Three Mountains Six Line consideration 三山六线 that is obtained via the 12 growth phases. It may also progress into the full fledged 24 Heavenly Star Method 天星, to evaluate the Main Star 主星.
Having understood such, lets look back at these initial questions: -
We had now know that there is this branch of BaZhai 八宅 from Qin and Han Dynasties that is named Later Heaven School 后天派 that purportedly merge SanHe 三合 with GuaQi 卦气 and it is called SanHe BaZhai 三合八宅.
There isn't a need to establish House Gua 宅卦 or even Life Gua 命卦. The BaZhai Qi map is established via the Main Star 主星 that is almost liked catching the Useful God 用神.
The Main Star 主星 is predetermined by the time the building is completed. However for every floor the effects will be different due to the HeTu floor elemental interplay 五行生克.
Because it is technically a SanHe BaZhai 三合八宅, therefore BaZhai ShengQi 八宅生氣 is TangLang Wood star 貪狼木星 not TangLang Star One White Water star 貪狼一白水星.
SanHe BaZhai 三合八宅 is unfortunately, liked Shen's Flying Star 玄空飞星 and pretend all the apartment units share the same chart based on the Main Star 主星... only the other qualifying factors liked external land form and floor elemental interplay, door locations altered its degree of prosperity or calamities, as the case maybe.

WINTER SOLSTICE 冬至
There was a saying that the Winter Solstice is “Larger” than the Year, 冬大如年. What does it means? Winter Solstice 冬至 is one of the twelve solar seasonal markers denoting the peak of winter. It is supposed to be the coldest time of winter where astronomically speaking, the earth is the furthest away from the sun, yet in contrary, the northern hemisphere is also the nearest facing the sun. Such dichotomy is reflective in the saying, in the absolute Yin 太陰 the young Yang 少陽 is born. This is a time of the year when YinYang 陰陽 threshold is blurred. It is a transition time or we called, the “crossover” that usually take place in 21 Dec or 22 Dec each year. Such YinYang threshold 陰陽界 is important for most of the Chinese Metaphysical sciences like FengShui and so forth. When someone is strong enough to withstand such time of extreme cold and turbulent Qi, this someone is said to be able to survive for another year. Therefore for each passing of the winter solstice, a year was added to the age. This is known as the Winter Solstice is “Larger” than the Year, 冬大如年.
BEGINNING OF SPRING 立春
The beginning of spring 立春 is another solar seasonal markers denoting the arrival of spring usually take place between 4 Feb – 5 Feb each year. It is a time where a new chapter of the year begins. It is technically a new year. However, this again is not really a time where it is the “hottest” or “wettest” of the year, yet it is taken as a “birthday” of the year. Most of the FengShui masters in town will take this LiChun BaZi as the natal chart to predict the auspicious and calamity of the coming year, where they will probably say, the new TaiSui 太歲, SanSha Three Killings三殺 have arrived and certain location cannot have ground breaking. Saying that, some forgot about the 5 yellow actually already kicked in since DongZhi Winter Solstice 冬至 not LiChun beginning of spring 立春. With all the confusions of FengShui techniques liked XuanKong and QiMen 玄空奇門, which solar markers denote the transitions of YinYang, subject to many debates.
SOLAR TERMS 節氣
Winter solstice 冬至 and beginning of spring 立春 are but two of the 24 solar terms or JieQi 節氣. What makes these two different and not made known is the differences between ZhongQi 中氣 and JieQi 節氣. ZhongQi 中氣 are the time periods or some called the eight periods 八運 that demarcate the intangible Heaven Qi 天氣 while JieQi 節氣 are the location of the eight trigram 八卦 that governs the tangible Earth Qi 地氣. That is why winter solstice 冬至 is the coldest days of the year and not the arrival of winter 立冬 because solstices are ZhongQi 中氣. That is why, Wu 午 month and Wu 午 hour are always hot and Wu 午 year or a Wu 午 day may not necessary be hot. Saying that with the protruding of Bing 丙 doesn’t really mean the sun has arrived at the mountain 太陽到山 and therefore all evils subsided. These are all false and misleading teachings.
THE THREE FACTORS 三才
Not all Chinese metaphysics methodologies measure the same thing. The question we always asked is, which Heaven, example early, later or middle, do you measure? Which YinYang 陰陽 thresholds 界do you measure? Zi 子 and Wu 午? Chou 丑 and Wei 未? Yin 寅 and Shen 申? For example, we know that in QiMen 奇門, the YinYang Dun 陰陽遁 will change position upon entering the solstices 至. However do you use the same when you apply in FengShui using the SanHe Heavenly Star Methodology 三合天星法? You will be entirely wrong using the demarcation of Heaven Qi for a job require you to measure Earth Qi. That is the reason, without knowing how to apply the 3 factors of SanChai 三才 you will not able to construct a FengShui formation and any amount of “salt water” cure or placement FengShui water features would best be just trial and error plus a little bit of blind faiths. This is NOT FengShui.
UNLOCKING THE GOLDEN LOCK JADE PORTAL
When JayTee posted this in his FB page, apparently he was surprised that there were masters in Bolehland that were desperately teaching it at such a cheap fee as compared to someone in Kiasuland teaching the same stuff for SGD3,888 almost more than 10 times his price. Little did we realized that the contents of both subjects were more or less the same? However, the 'key' to apply such an art was nowhere to be found. It was a joke that the Bolehland master cannot differentiate between the notion of mountain and water. Therefore some student after ‘investing’ in such course couldn’t reconcile, let alone apply.
As a gesture of our compassion and sorry if you have to pay through your nose just to get this piece of information before, let us unlock the working mechanism of this method. Before that, get your introduction of this method HERE.

An extension to Naked Eye Method 長眼法 but taking into consideration the BaGua 八卦 instead of just the Four Imagery 四象.
When we do not know... it is worth a lot of money. When you were told... it doesn't worth a cent. If you look at these techniques of Golden Lock Jade Portal 金鎖玉關, you are able to recognize that it is an extension of Naked Eye Method 長眼法, which is again, an extension of YangGong’s 楊公 Heavenly Heart Methodology 十道天心法. Someway along the line FengShui master needs to make a living by dissecting all these into smaller chunks to feed the greedy masses that ultimately chase after formulas... We conclude this by saying... "FengShui F%$King WORKS!"
NAKED EYE 長眼法 AT A GLANCE
You may have heard about a technique called – Naked Eye Method 長眼法. This Form School 形家 YinYang Methodology 陰陽法 enable a practitioner to determine the auspiciousness 吉 or calamity 凶 of a site without the use of LuoPan 羅盤 by employing Dragon 龍, Tiger 虎, Phoenix雀 and Turtle 武 to evaluate landform and uses form 形 to remedy any shortcoming.
According to one school founded in Taiwan by the Mud Eel Master 泥鳅師, it has nothing to do with Qi flow 氣流法 and it is a standalone technique. However, one LiuFa 六法 school claimed otherwise that it is originated from a fixed Gua 定卦 perspective and Mud Eel Master 泥鳅師 school only have divination technique 斷絕 and did not have the Yi principle 易理, therefore not a complete transmission.
In fact, both the Mud Eel Master 泥鳅師 and LiuFa 六法 school incorporated this technique once called YangGong’s 楊公 Heavenly Heart Methodology 十道天心法 that uses the Cross Line 十道 reference of a human body 人體 as a mean to measure landform 形家 with the aid of a walking stick 長. That is where the name Naked Eye Method 長眼法 comes about.
Unlike the Golden Lock Jade Portal 金鎖玉關, it does not really based on the entire eight trigram 八卦 and LoShu 洛書. Instead it is based on the Four Imagery 四象, YinYang 陰陽 and HeTu 河圖 numerology. Therefore it is sometimes called Four Imagery YinYang Techniques 四象陰陽法.
Coupled with Passerby YinYang 過路陰陽 that has a close proximities to XuanKong Gua 玄空卦, Naked Eye Method 長眼法 can be incorporated with the permutation of the eight trigram 八卦 to determine Who, When and How an event would occur based on landform.
EEL MASTER 泥鳅師
A short introduction of this school originated from the Monk Master 和尚師, rather an absolute generic name for a founder of a great school of FengShui. Zheng QingFeng 鄭清風, as a young turd has been spending his youth in the mountain attending to goats and cows and having the affinity to meet this Monk Master 和尚師, that was famed to have been following the retinue of Chiang KaiShek 蔣介石 at that time, defeated by the Communist to retreat to Taiwan. In a sunny morning Monk Master 和尚師 has taught Zheng QingFeng 鄭清風 the art of Naked Eye Method 長眼法 through the various burial grounds around that area. With confident, the young Zheng QingFeng 鄭清風 approached other masters that have been dotting graves around the area, while providing accurate and sharp predictions to the many grave sites, he managed to carve his name in the industry at his time. He was later known as Snail Master 泥鮴師 owing to his casual habits of catching eels in the countryside. This school was survived by the current contemporary lineage holder in Taiwan and due to the quick nature of summing up the FengShui of a grave or a premise, it was widespread through Singapore, Malaysia but not HongKong, surprisingly.

There are more to these techniques. Shown here are the basic principles based on Yi principle 易理, YinYang 陰陽 and Four Imagery 四象. The other aspects not discussed here are as the followings: -
龍門八大局乾坤國寶 - DRAGON GATE EIGHT FORMATIONS QIANKUN NATIONAL TREASURES WATER METHOD, A DISCOURSE BY HHC
Master HC Hung has recently concluded his maiden course in Dragon Gate Eight Formations (LMBDJ) 龍門八大局 or QianKun National Treasure (QKGB) 乾坤國寶 that took him only half a day to conclude. Well, according to him, it is rather a simple water method of FengShui compared to the others liked SanHe. However, reviewing what had been said, apparently, there are plenty of 'potholes'to be filled making such a discourse rather good on theory but useless in application. In other words, it simply can't be applied and at such, one keeps wondering, what is the point of knowing this method, apparently the most popular in Taiwan, yet cannot be used? One student, while listening to the discourse was paled when he found out to his horror that the apartment unit he bought was not in formation to QKGB or LMBDJ caused he failed to find a solution to altered the formation. While the discourse suggested to him to use the technique of blocking or diverting but it is more easy to say then to be done.
This paper attempt to dig a little further on this technique and hopefully fill up more 'potholes' along the way.
HOW IT ALL BEGINS
Apparently, this method was claimed to have been the original Classics of Jade Envelope 玉函經. Due to the imperial stature of Classics of Jade Envelope 玉函經, it was elevated to the name of National Treasure 國寶. However, the birthplace of this method was in FuJian instead of GanZhou and therefore, it took a SanYuan approach and was renamed Dragon Gate Eight Formations (LMBDJ) 龍門八大局. The Classics of Jade Envelope 玉函經 was largely attributed to Qiu YanHan 丘延翰 lived around 650CE and both served and insulted the Tang Emperor Yang XuanZhong (712-756CE).
The FuJian School of FengShui claimed that the Great Grand master Yang JungSong 楊筠松 was never be found in the official historical records of the Historian. There was however, a very small position held by him as a prison warden. Fate has brought him to encounter a prisoner who is a well versed FengShui master known as Qiu YanHan 丘延翰. In an attempt to help this prisoner to escape, he was taught YuHan Jing, the Classics of Jade Envelope 玉函经. The Great Grandmaster Yang JungSong 楊筠松, as the warden, later shown a partly decomposed corpse to the Emperor, convincing his majesty that the deceased is indeed the FengShui master Qiu YanHan 丘延翰 that has been condemned to death. Predicting that his deception may not last forever, he took an incident in the palace to flee to FuJian. Therefore, LMBDJ or QKGB was born in FuJian. However, the Great Grand master Yang JungSong 楊筠松 was born in 843CE and to some account Qiu YanHan 丘延翰 must have lived at least 200 years before he could tutor him.
This method of LMBDJ or QKGB was made popular in Taiwan by the so claimed direct descendant of YangGong, the grand master Yang CangHua 陽藏華 circa 1860. He wrote the one and only book titled QianKun National Treasure (QKGB) 乾坤國寶 and became and FengShui Idol in the 19 century Taiwan with a large following. Modern schools started to mushroom taking the pages out of his work while some deliberately added other fringe techniques into it to make it even more complicated. Some even conducted FengShui tour taking iconic FengShui places liked the original shop of Ding TaiFung 鼎泰豐 to showcase the real application of LMBDJ or QKGB.
With regards to the shady history of this technique, this masterpiece by Yang CangHua 陽藏華 apparently it was written taking the pages of YiLong Jing 疑龍經 and HanLong Jing 撼龍 經 to be expended with a whole loads of other jargon to make up the bulk.
MOUNTAIN GOVERNS PEOPLE, WATER GOVERNS WEALTH 山管人丁水管財
The discourse started with the phrase - Mountain governs people, Water governs wealth. The immediate question is Why? Hung explained from the point of view in Qi flow, where Qi in the mountains runs deep underground and the only way to tap into it is through burial. Consistent with the idea by GuoPu 郭璞 in his Burial Classics ZhangShu 葬書 that state In Bury is to Store; is to ride on ShengQi 葬者，藏也，乘生氣也. Therefore by burying the dead, the living will be endowed with benevolent blessings, thus the so called people luck or Early Heaven luck.
In the same Qi flow theory, Hung has taken a passage from the same classic that state, Riding Wind Will Disperse, Entering the Boundary of Water It Stops 氣乘風散，界水則止. Therefore when you see water you are readily able to tap to create opportunity to make money or Later Heaven luck.
Problem: Can you see that they never tell you how to tap? Another stray question was when people gathers the population increase demands more high rise buildings resulted in packed living conditions. This is what the SanYuan terms Direct Spirit which is a manifestation of a mountain, Yin nature. In such condition of living, people are less affection with one another 無情. How can that sort of 'mountain' benefits people luck?

Hung attempted to explain that QKGB or LMBDJ as a FengShui technique constituted both land form LuanTou 巒頭 and formula LiQi 理氣. Land form must always take precedents over formula 理氣無真，巒頭無假. So, the method tells you:

QI FLOW 氣流
The name Dragon Gate Eight Formations (LMBDJ) 龍門八大局, derived from the fact it is from the SanHe Four Big Water Formations 四大水局 with its YinYang sequence, resulted in the eight formations 八大局, is originally designed for Yin FengShui and to apply it to Yang abode, stock load and barrel is utterly uncalled for. The entire understanding of YinYang in LMBDJ or QKGB has to be correctly understood before even measuring your Qi flow. This was not highlighted in Hung's discourse. Failure to understand the context of YinYang, one would only assumed that you need a big Bright Hall to apply QKGB or LMBDJ. This is never the truth. There is such a thing called Yin Bright Hall 陰明堂.
Qi flow establishing formations had been the crux of LMBDJ or QKGB. Where the water mouth definitions and understanding are crucial. It is not just about water flowing in or going out. These water mouth was also 'mistakenly' referred to as Middle Heaven Water 中天水. Is this the same as Heavenly Robbery Position 天劫位? By the way, why a Qi mouth is measure on a 45 deg and not 15 deg? A sitting is establish in a 15 deg and not a 45 deg? There are reasons for these.
Another more pertinent inconsistency with LMBDJ or QKGB is the Qi mouth, that is supposed to be a universal land form acceptance. When a formation is established, there is no mistake as to which Qi mouth belongs to which formation. In other words, you can't be sleeping with other people's wife, can you? Some of the formation presented absolutely disregard land form principles. Therefore, where is such principle of Land form must always take precedents over formula 理氣無真，巒頭無假 be seen in this methodology?
Although Hung's discourse on this subject was considered an intermediate level FengShui programme, in reality it was only an introduction to this method without the concerted effort to apply them in a practical context. Not surprised if there are students who left with a confused after taste. As usual, Hung always has the ability to make difficult concepts digestible and never fail to entertain his audience to stir the grey matters. For sure our approach will differ significantly if we were to take up this subject as a discourse in a true SanYuan water method, the mother of LMBDJ or QKGB. Many SanYuan school FeiXing Pai could not reconcile the teaching of this branch of FengShui school that was considered to be the most superior FengShui art by the Grandmaster Shao WeiHua 邵偉華大師 and rendered it to be nothing more then gibberish rubbish! The problem is with the incompatible understanding with the meaning of mountain and water that may have nothing whatsoever related to the dragon, rivers or roads. Modern literature only revealed the art of 過路陰陽, Passerby YinYang methodology that vested on divination art. It comprises only a very small portion of this methodology. Grandmaster Shao WeiHua 邵偉華大師 called himself as the philosopher of the Song Dynasty. He also claimed to be the 29th descendant of Shao KangJie or better known as the YiJing expert ShaoYung. Worked in many fields before. Upon old age studied YiJing and Chinese Metaphysics including FengShui, BaZi and real estate. Well known to be decoding the cryptic YiJing code. He has since popularized the art of Golden Lock Jade Portal and remained as the respected YiJing FengShui master who has brought himself from rag to riches. He is among the surviving Time Master 時師 of this generation.
The general arrangement of the script looks more like the work of the modern author in a 7 words prose, typical of Tang Dynasty classics.

THE CHEF : THE LAIGONG’S PEDIGREE賴公三合派
Lai BuYi 賴布衣 SanHe Sect 賴公三合派 also known as SanHe Heavenly Star School 三合天星派 is an integral part of the New Method 新法. Lai BuYi claimed to have written, a difficult book, Urging Officer Scroll 《催官篇》. It contained techniques known as Embrace Leaning Star Method 撥砂挨星法: -
1. Leaning Star 挨星法 is to Establish Facing to Receive Water 立向收水.
2. It is also called, eliminate embrace to acquire water 消砂納水.
3. Or simply Recline Mountain and Push Killing 收山出煞.
Many different jargons same story. This Leaning Star is called – Assistant Star Water Method 輔星水法.
INGREDIENT 01 : ASSISTANT STAR WATER METHOD 輔星水法
The operative word – Assistant Star 輔星, self-explanatory is rooted in Changing Yao 飛爻, starts from the Assistant Stars – FuBi 輔弼, ends with WenQu 文曲. These 8 stars will determined the auspiciousness of incoming and outgoing water. Offspring of Assistant Star Method 輔星水法 are Five Ghost Carry Wealth 五鬼運財. This technique is mentioned in Entering Earth Eye 《入地眼》. This work was believed to predate all other YangGong technique. The Human Plate 人盤 and the Heaven Plate 天盤 have not been invented. Assuming. Lai BuYi borrowed this method, the use of Human Plate 人盤 to measure will not get consistent results. Assuming this Entering Earth Eye has been bastardized and somehow Assistant Star Method managed to creep into its pages, shouldn’t the Heaven Plate 天盤 be used to audit water? Blatantly, Entering Earth Eye state that Heaven Plate 天盤 is full of crap, years before Lai BuYi was born! Furthermore, what about Assistant Star’s long lost cousin, Huang ShiGong 3 Nobles 6 Auspicious 黄石公三吉六秀? Simultaneous application or standalone?
INGREDIENT 02 : 24 HEAVENLY STARS METHODOLOGY 廿四天星法
The predecessor to Assistant Star Method is believed to come from the 24 Heavenly Stars Method 廿四天星法. 24 Heavenly Stars were derived from the ZiWei enclosure. These stars represent the Imperial Court such as Heavenly King 天皇, representing the Monarch. It was said that the Hai Dragon 亥龍 produces Emperor. Hai 亥 is associated with Heavenly King 天皇 star. The other nobles are: -
1. Great Subtlety天贲,
2. Heavenly Market 天市,
3. Great Yi 太乙 and
4. Lesser Subtlety 少微.
These collectively made up the 3 Nobles 6 Auspicious 三吉六秀 where the 6 Auspicious were derived from 24 Obscure Heavenly Stars NaJia 廿四渾天星纳甲. To those school who subscribed that Entering Earth Eye 《入地眼》 predates Urging Officer Scroll, they will annex these 24 Heavenly Stars to the Earth Plate 地盤, while LaiGong School 賴公派 will annex these 24 Stars to the Human Plate 人盤 , to derive YinYang. This method became the qualifier to Assistant Star Method and 3 Nobles 6 Auspicious三吉六秀.
INGREDIENT 03 : HUMAN PLATE CENTRAL NEEDLE EMBRACE TECHNIQUE 人盤中針撥砂法
Assistant Star Method 輔星水法 and 3 Nobles 6 Auspicious三吉六秀 measure the dynamic. The Human Plate 人盤, invention of Lai BuYi, measures the static. Static and dynamic are the manifestation of Formula versus Landform as the saying goes 巒頭無假理氣無真. Within Human Plate 人盤, its YinYang were derived from the 24 Heavenly Stars while its element is derived from the 28 asterism 廿八天星.
24 Heavenly Stars 廿四天星 differed from 28 asterism 廿八天星. 24 Heavenly Stars are star groups within the ZiWei enclosure while 28 asterism are star groups within the equatorial belt. It is this 28 asterism 廿八天星 that defined the static elements of the Human Plate 人盤. Human Plate’s 24 mountains were divided into 6 groups: –
1. 4 Yang Stems,
2. 4 Yin Stems,
3. 4 Ordinal Gua,
4. 4 Stables,
5. 4 Growths and
6. 4 Graves.
Mountains within the same group shares the same element, which correspond exactly to the 28 asterism.
Human Plate 人盤 is used to: -
1. Evaluate the quality of the embrace 砂
2. Ascertain that the embrace protects the meridian.
It is not a water method 水法 but an embrace method 砂法.
All the peaks within the embrace 砂 shall collectively produce 生 or prosper 旺 the Xue in the 5 elemental五行生克 interplays.
INGREDIENT 04 : THE SECRET OF CENTRAL & FIRE TWO STAR TECHNIQUE 中火二星法
Zhang JiuYi 張九儀 (1660 – 1730) studied under Jiao RenShan 焦仁山, disciple to Lai BuYi 賴布衣. He is believed to be the torch bearer for LaiGong’s lineage. From his writing, Earth Study Alchemical Towrope《地理鉛彈子》, it is learnt that one undisclosed secret technique called – Central & Fire Two Star Methodology 中火二星法, is the key to ignite LaiGong’s method.
As a rule of thumb, this technique require one to: -
1. Employ the Heavenly Ruler 量天尺, simply means measuring the 28 asterism 廿八天星.
2. There is a full fledge art of doing this - Seven Governors and the Four Remainders 七政四餘.
3. Narrow down and to locate the positions of the Central Star 中星 and the Fire Star 火星 (see table).
4. To establish the 4 Auspicious and the 3 Nobles 四吉三奇 within.
5. 4 Auspicious 3 Nobles 四吉三奇 are Yi乙, Bing丙, Ding丁, 3 Nobles 三奇.
6. Locate the Salaried Horse Nobleman Method 祿馬貴人法 within.
It is really Rocket Science in Lai BuYi’s time. In Urging Officer it states, Fiery Star 火星 not rise Officer 官 not prominent 火星不起官不顯. In Zhang’s writing, it states, without the Central Star, nobility will not see 無中不發富, without the Fire Star, ignition will not take place 無火不開科. Can you believed it? We must take this with a huge pinch of salt…
The 24 Heavenly Star methodology 廿四天星法 forms the Body 體 or the Principle. To some it is a way to locate the Meridian Spot – LaiGong Dotting the Meridian Technique 賴公點穴法. Others believed that it is how based on the precedents of the Royal Imperial Tombs’ FengShui, these proved the quality of the TangLang 贪狼, JuMen 巨门, WenQu 文曲, WuQu 武曲 and FuBi 輔弼 stars are auspicious perpetually as it corresponds to the Great Subtlety 天贲, Heavenly Market 天市, Great Yi 太乙, Lesser Subtlety 少微, Heavenly Monarch 天皇 and the Purple Enclosure 紫微. Collectively, they are named – Mother Earth Flipping Trigram Nine Star Plate 地母反卦九星盤, where Kun trigram is the Host. That is also where GuiChang 归藏 was to be arranged…
Mother Earth Flipping Trigram Nine Star Technique 地母反卦九星法 was later enlarged to cover what is now known as 3 Auspicious 6 Elegance 三吉六秀 as Mountain Method 山法 and Assistant Star 輔星 as Water Method 水法. Both methodologies form the Application 用. When one uses the Mountain Method 山法, one is able to simultaneously narrow down to the specific 60D Penetrating Dragon 穿山龍 GuiChang Gua 归藏卦. When one uses the Water Method 水法, one is able to simultaneously narrow down to the specific 60D Penetrating Dragon 穿山龍 Obscure Heaven Gua 渾天卦.
Human Plate Embrace Method 人盤中針撥砂法 is a static application to evaluate the quality of the embrace 砂 protecting the Meridian 穴. When one uses the Embrace Method 砂法, one is able to simultaneously narrow down to the specific 60D Penetrating Dragon 穿山龍 LianShan Gua 连山卦, by measuring the embraces’ peaks. All the 3 sets of Gua 三般卦 derived from the 3 sets of 60D Penetrating Dragon 穿山龍 GuiChang 归藏, Obscure Heaven 渾天 and LianShan 连山 Gua would enable a detailed readings of: -
Having said so, there is a much reserved techniques called the Central and Fire Two Stars Methodology 中火二星法. It is where you need to determine the arrival of the Central 中星 and Fire Stars 火星 respectively. These require a little bit of acrobatics with astronomy as both stars are in reference to the Pole Star 紫微 (To locate the Pole Star read HERE) and the planet Mars 火星, to enable specific date selections so as to allow for immediate FengShui outcome.
To eliminate Killing Qi or ShaQi 殺氣, the techniques of Great Sun and Great Moon formulas 太陽太陰到山 are prescribed as the saying goes, when the Great Sun and Great Moon 太陽太陰到山 arrived at the particular mountain, all malignant Qi will be dissolved. This will enable one to determine your seating… not just the greatly misunderstood basic date selection techniques.
There are 2 sets of 28 asterism rings currently found in most modern LuoPan: -
By 2008 (another JiaZi cycle) it would have lapsed 364 years. By virtue of YuXi 虞喜 calculation (being the first Chinese astronomer who observed the Precession of the Equinoxes), suggested that for every 70+ years the precession of the equinoxes ShuiCha 歲差 would rendered the asterisms to be deviated by 1 degree and with such 364 years, that will make up a total of 5.2 degree deviations.
LaiGong 賴公 uses the Old Epoch. By this time, due to precession of the earth, the current degree of the 28 asterism 廿八天星 would have been out of sync by 15 degree (that is One Mountain). By the same token, it means to say these techniques of LaiGong 賴公 would have been stale. Some practitioners warrant that the current degree of the 28 asterism 廿八天星 would have to be updated every 70 years – most likely you only need to do once every life time and to re-engineered the entire techniques to keep them applicable.
One School suggested that you may need to read the New Epoch and to traced back to the Old Epoch when validating old graves based on LaiGong's methodology.
What a daunting task…
This paper continues to examine the employment of QiMen 奇門 in the interpretation of the 60 Obscure Heaven Gua 渾天卦. The YangGong New Method School XinFa 新法 has given us a new perspective as to how pre-SanYuan theories had included QiMen 奇門 into the equation and making them as complicated as “Rocket Sciences” of their era. Apparently this tapestry makes the core knowledge of YangGong method into disarray and somehow lacked the simplicity and originality of the YangGong old method 古法派. It has given such an obscure aftertaste as though YangGong, himself is not able to consolidate the art and science of FengShui, but to adopt whole heartedly, the full bloom methods of his time - QiMen 奇門 into his formulation. While investigating this matter, the author strongly believed that such inclusions may have been done by others, not having the entire knowledge of the true genuine YangGong methods and trying their very best to make up for the lack of knowledge into a collective whole now called - The YangGong New Method School, XinFa 新法.

We were made to aware of a Poem by Zhang JiuYi 张九仪, that summarized the entire knowledge of The YangGong New Method School, XinFa 新法. Next, we would be surprised by the fact that there are more than one way to arrange the JiaZi, called – HongLuan JiaZi 紅鸞甲子. Not only that, we also learnt where SanYuan people adopted the earliest known 60 Hexagrams into their DaGua Plate 大卦盤 through the now extinct LianShan 連山, GuiChang 歸藏, ZhouYi 周易 to come out with HunTian 渾天 Gua卦. It is also from here, that we learnt as to how the pre-SanYuan people adopted the SanBan Gua techniques 卦取三般. More importantly how these people analyse the SanBan Gua 三般卦 through the lenses of Obscure Heaven NaJia 渾天納甲. This, unfortunately is not simple, but the “rocket sciences” of the day that include QiMen 奇門 – as in the Three Mysterious 三奇 and the Four Auspicious 四吉.
THE THREE MYSTERIOUS AND FOUR AUSPICIOUS 三奇四吉
This term is not unusual for the field of QiMen 奇門 but is highly unusual in the field of YangGong FengShui. In QiMen 奇門 the Three Mysterious 三奇 is referring to Yi乙, Bing丙 and Ding丁. These 3 stems are the imperial families of Jia甲, the emperor. Yi乙 is the sister of Jia. Bing丙 is the Prince to Jia甲 and Ding丁 is the Princess to Jia甲. Collectively these 3 stems are the known as the Three Mysterious 三奇. When the Three Mysterious 三奇 are present, the outcome of the particular palace is known to be auspicious. Even in the face of a Killing Qi, its effect will be neutralized.
The Four Auspicious 四吉 is not unusual for the field of QiMen 奇門 as it refers to the 8 Doors. 4 of these doors are auspicious such as Rest休, Life生, Open開 and Harm傷. When the Four Auspicious 四吉 are present, the outcome of the particular palace for human factors are auspicious.
LOCATING THE THREE MYSTERIOUS 三奇
Based on the same chart called 6Jia Streams Establishing FuTou 六甲旬符頭, for every 6Jia Streams 六甲旬, there is a stem that Jia (the Emperor) would hide itself in. This is called DunJia 遁甲, Hiding the Jia甲. These Stems (being the Generals), where the Jia甲 would hide itself, is called XunShou 旬首. There are 6 XunShou 旬首.
ESTABLISHING THE EARTH PLATE 地盤
Take this Obscure Heaven 60D 渾天60龍 as an example… This 60D BingZi has given this Wind over Water, Kun 困 Hexagram - Trap. BingZi found itself within Great Snow 大雪 of the 24 JieQi 節氣, Middle Hou 中候, YinDun 陰遁 – reverse order, taking Ju7 七局 – where the following FuTou 符頭 is JiaXu stream starts from Dui the order of Wu戊, Ji己, Geng庚, Xin辛, Ren壬, Gui癸, Ding丁, Bing丙, Yi乙 in the reverse order. As a result, you will obtain the Earth Plate.
ESTABLISHING THE HEAVEN PLATE 天盤
From the Earth Plate, locate XunShou旬首 for JiaXu stream is Ji己 and it is located at Qian palace. Replace Wu戊 in Dui palace with XunShou旬首 - Ji己 and rotate accordingly. As a result, you will obtain Heaven Plate. The Three Mysterious 三奇 are located as the followings: -
LOCATING THE FOUR AUSPICIOUS 四吉
Before one can locate the Four Auspicious 四吉 Door, one has to locate the Lead Star that is also known as the Purple Star 紫星. In QiMen 奇門, it is known that the Star 星 gives power to the Door 門. The Purple Star 紫星 is located at XunShou旬首 - Ji己 Earth Plate Qian Palace (6). Replace the star #6, which is the Purple Star 紫星, into the Dui palace and rotate accordingly.
As the Purple Star 紫星 empowers the Door 門, the Open Door 開 now becomes the Lead Door also known as the Purple Door 紫門. Replace the Open Door 開 - Purple Door 紫門 into the Dui Palace and rotate accordingly… As a result, the Four Auspicious 四吉 Door are located as the followings: -
This is the FIRST TIME, QiMen FengShui has been disclosed in this manner. In the common technique of QiMen for FengShui, especially so from the Money squeezing Academy of Chinese metaphysics (MsAocm), QiMen FengShui is mainly used for Remote Sensing, whereby a QiMen chart is open and a prediction is made based on the ingredients of the chart to say: -
Further to that, SanYuan QiMen DunJia 三元奇門遁甲 may extend its application to SanYuan YuanKong DaGua 三元元空大卦, forming the mouthful SanYuan XianTian YuanKong DaGua QiMen DunJia 三元先天元空大卦奇門遁甲, another subject offered for sale by the legendary Money squeezing Academy of Chinese metaphysics (MsAocm). It was also believed that this secret techniques mirrored the legendary grand-master Zeng ZiNan's 曾子南 XieZi Fa 些子法 (Details read HERE). In one of the Money squeezing Academy of Chinese metaphysics (MsAocm) master trainer's own words, he cannot reconcile the application of SanYuan YuanKong DaGua 三元元空大卦 until his late master Chen BeiSheng 陈倍生 disclosed to him the simultaneous application of SanYuan QiMen DunJia 三元奇門遁甲.
From this point onward, it is obvious that the pre-SanYuan XianTian YuanKong DaGua QiMen DunJia 三元先天元空大卦奇門遁甲 has its root from the HunTian Gua 渾天卦 application, where the 60 Obscure Heaven Gua 渾天 卦 are preset with the Static QiMen Plate 奇門盤.
