At DYA we continue to transform ourselves from time to time, including decentralizing and re-centralizing our resources. We explored satellite offices to capture the various market that we found ourselves in. Having said so, we embraced Spartan’s minimalism so as to enable us to focus where it matter most – our Works
This is a 4 rooms HDB apartment in Singapore, which is also our maiden ID project over the republic for a small Christian Family of 2+. The main theme are meant to be kept simple with earthly tones accentuate with dark colors table top and soft furnishing to add contrasts. Cove ceilings and lighting are employed to create the warmth ambient feels and at the same time, furniture arrangement is kept simple to create the lush-fullness of the space which otherwise is rather small and rigid. The only setback with most HDB apartment of this kind is the absent of the balcony space that enable natural lights to be drawn into the apartment.
This design attempt is to use modern setting with plenty of back painted glass to create subtle effective-ness of shadows and imagery of the inhabitants. Muted purple is used as the theme with lots of floating features as to create shadows beneath the surface of the floor. White furnishing is preferred to blend into the illusion of space. Natural brown tone of timber flooring and marble add contrasts to the soft lofty furnishing. Transparent dining seats accentuate "floating people" when they dine. bedrooms theme varies from soft muted peach to beige white.
