SANHE EIGHT MANSIONS ?We wrote this early last month and guess what, we actually found one school claimed lineage of Eight Mansions back to the Qin and Han Dynasty… No Joke! We are very close to some other schools claim Eight Mansions back to the Zhou Dynasty…Very interesting observation on Eight Mansions... garnishing a stale plate, we asked? Just because someone taught BaZhai and claimed the originality back to the Tang Dynasty, it is called SanHe BaZhai 三合八宅... If someone else is teaching BaZhai and claimed originality since Zhou Dynasty, what would it called? Where do BaZhai 八宅 comes from? The Classics of Dwelling 皇帝宅经?Since when SanHe 三合 plays with GuaQi 卦气? How to establish the House Gua 宅卦? Sitting 坐 or Seating 座?Where to measure, Door 门?What make one think the door is the 玄關 or it is entirely different thing such as the Entry Foyer? Has anyone actually measure House Gua 宅卦 by standing 3 feet away from the door or from the middle of the property? If that true try measure a shopping mall using BaZhai with all the doors and a huge space that you can't even see the door... Which door sitting do you use as your ZhaiGua 宅卦? How do you assign your BaZhai Qi map 八宅氣圖 to the floor plan, pie versus grid? Simply smacked into your floor plan and repeat the same for the floor above? Why BaZhai ShengQi 八宅生氣 is TangLang Wood star 貪狼木星 not TangLang Star One White Water star 貪狼一白水星?Use BaZhai remedy using 5 elements interplay 五行生克? Must be joking... What makes FuWei 福位 better compared to WuGui 五鬼? Perhaps, how do you raise FuWei, sitting or facing? If we think that BaZhai 八宅 is like Shen's Flying Star 玄空飞星 and pretend all the apartment units share the same chart based on the sitting and facing of the entire building, how many "client" had this "master" betrayed? The questions simply does not end here... it only shows how confused practitioners are with regard to this system...if one cannot truly grasp the actual application to this techniques, better denounce Chinese Metaphysics and do stamp collecting instead. Don't waste time learning from the academies... Saying that, we found - Later Heaven School of Yang Dwelling 后天派阳宅, the one school that merge eight mansions with SanHe… so technically they should be called, SanHe BaZhai 三合八宅 instead… THE HISTORYLater Heaven School of Yang Dwelling 后天派阳宅 was claimed to be originated in the Qin and Han Dynasties. It also claimed to be as the same lineage as the HuangShi Gong ancient FengShui 黄石公古风水 system (Wow… even predates Yang YunSong). Contradictory to its pedigree as claimed, it has really nothing to do with Later Heaven BaGua (surprise... surprise!). The term Later Heaven only referred to as the teaching that came much later incorporating the “original” eight mansions and SanHe Four Major Water Mouths. The history of the practice was rather murky but some school claimed it has been continued in the mainland China via secret communications post cultural revolution (can you believe that?). When the Kuomintang retreated to Taiwan in 1945, it was brought to Taiwan by the sole lineage holder, the late Li HuShan 李胡山仙师 at that time. In Taiwan the arts developed further or rather flourish (whatever go to Taiwan will flourish). The FengShui of the YinYang Dwelling based on Later Heaven School of Yang Dwelling 后天派阳宅 was derived from Daoism (any kind of FengShui that derived from Christianity please let us know). In the Qing dynasty, this knowledge was published in the form of books during the middle period of the dynasty, QianLong era (now, whatever deemed popular during this era must be taken with a large pinch of salt). It has been spread throughout. Before and after the 1980s, cross-strait relations eased, and the late Li HuShan 李胡山仙师 returned to his root back to China, but the lineage before him was somewhat difficult to trace (very convenient truth). He was survived by his daughter’s side of the family but since they had already married out into other families, and no other relatives that survived were around, his knowledge was due to be lost in time. At that time, the late Li HuShan was in his very old age. In order for the arts to be handed down for posterity, Li HuShan was willing to accept disciples elsewhere. THE METHODOLOGYZhou WenWang 周文王 founder of the ZhouYi 周易 appointed Jiang TaiGong 姜太公 as the Royal Advisor 国师. Jiang emphasise on YinYang 阴阳 and Five Elements 五行. YinYang 阴阳 has three Qi 三气 or SanCai 三才– Heaven, Human and Earth, such as: - 1. Yang Dwelling (Human) emphasis is on Growing Qi 生旺之气. The Growing Qi 生旺之气 is dependable on the Eight Mansion Auspicious Stars 八宅吉星 arriving at the door sector based on the sitting of the mansion 宅座. Therefore, a mansion’s Gua 宅卦 can be different from the Door Location Gua 门卦 and produce a different eight mansions star 八宅星 arriving at the door. The other theories on eight mansions八宅 are of no different from those that are available in the market but how they determine the mansion’s Gua 宅卦, which later it is taken as main star 主星 instead, is a closely guarded secret as it must be derived from the Floor, as a result from the Building and in return of such as a result from the environment or land form. 2. Land form (Earth) related to Portal Prosperous Qi 关旺之气; Landform (Earth) and by the same token, Yin Dwelling are assessed differently. The Portal Prosperous Qi 关旺之气 is dependable on the SanHe Four Major Water Mouth Auspicious Stars 三合四大水口吉星 matching the Facing of the Grave 阴宅向. Some variant within the same school, however promoted the Sitting Mountain坐山 instead must be produced by the 4 major water mouth formation 三合四大水口. Therefore, a Yin mansion’s Gua 阴宅卦向 or land form are derived upon the 4 major water mouths 24 mountains sub division into:
As to how they derived such subdivision, is obviously from the 12 Growth Phases Double Mountain narrowed down to the 3 mountains - governed by one Gua. These are also called Three Mountains Six Line consideration 三山六线. The question again is how you measure the “portal” 关 that is yet, another closely guarded secret. Having establish Facing, the opposite is sitting. The 24 mountains plate (External Plate – Heaven Ring) each mountain has its own Five Elements. They called this the the BaGua gold division 八卦分金 that are divided into metal, wood, water, fire, and earth – 5 Elements or they nicknamed it as the Five Lines – 五线, (so that it sounds sexy, maybe). In their lineage LuoPan it was colour coded. Some explained that these Five Lines – 五线 were derived from XuanKong Five Great Element 大玄空五行 (Very strange?). 24 mountains XuanKong Five Great Element 大玄空五行 determines the 4 major water mouth formation 三合四大水口 (please don’t panic … calm down, more surprises to come). 3. Temples (Heaven) has the power to Prosper and to Dissolve 杀旺之气. This school took the general view that only temple can receive Killing Qi杀旺之气 of any kinds. The Prosper and to Dissolve 杀旺之气 is dependable on the Eight Mansion Inauspicious Stars 八宅凶星 arriving at the door sector based on the sitting of the mansion 宅座 or more appropriately the main star 主星. Therefore, a mansion’s Gua 宅卦 or main star 主星 can be different from the Door Location Gua 门卦 and produce a different eight mansions star 八宅星 arriving at the door and temple would prefer to tap into inauspicious star instead. Because temple is usually taken as an entire building, the conditions govern land form also applies. Furthermore there are the classifications to the art of application as in Stillness 静, Floor 楼, Deity 神, Work 工, Wind 风 as these are the closely guarded secrets terminologies of where and how to measure the reference point, main star 主星. Each typology require different reference points such as: - 1. Stillness 静, apply to Flat Layout – Plan or detached landed house. The Room as Host 以房为主.
2. Floor 楼, apply to the multi-storey building. Star as Host 以星为主, Yang Dwelling multi-storey have a separate set of 5 elements (HeTu).
3. Deity 神, apply to temple. Flipping Trigram as Host 反卦为主.
4. Work 工, apply to the entire factory building, BaGua as Host 以八卦为主.
5. Wind 风, apply to Yin Dwelling or Graves, the 9 stars communication as Host 以九星沟通为主 based on the transformation 5 elements to establish facing in obtaining water. In other word, using the SanHe Four Major Water Mouth 三合四大水口 to establish facing or producing the sitting of the grave.
Each classifications to the art of application has its own methodology. If you understand well each of these methodologies, you will understand the secrets of the 3 Yi三易, namely ZhouYi周易, LianShan Yi 连山易, GuiChang Yi 归藏易. LianShan Yi 连山易 and GuiChang Yi 归藏易 are known as the mid heaven Gua. As the application of this art vested in how you identify the useful god 用神 as it is called the main star 主星, it is therefore how you apply the mid heaven Gua 中天卦 to control (later heaven 后天) what is uncontrollable (early heaven 先天). These were summarized as "The wind and rain, the wonders of the mountains and the seas, the long flowing of water, the rivers and its banks, are of the one family"「呼风唤雨、山海奇观、源水长流、江河一家」. (In other words, all those things that made your head spins). THE CRITIQUES1) Eight Mansions 八宅 Later Heaven School of Yang Dwelling 后天派阳宅 demonstrated how watered down and superficial the Eight Mansions 八宅 that are circulated in the masses to date, such as the popular Yang Dwelling Three Necessities 《阳宅三要》, Yang Dwelling Great Formation 《阳宅大成》 and so on, these are the many false books for the public consumption. It claimed that during the Tang Dynasty, YiHang一行 forged a Fake FengShui book to be given to the barbarians for posterity. As a result of these fake doctrines, eight mansions as we knew today were all fake techniques. When Eight Mansions brought down to the Qing Dynasty, a book called Eight Mansions Bright Mirror 八宅明鏡 was written. A house Gua 宅卦 is dependable on sitting 坐山 to rise FuWei 伏位. A house Gua 宅卦 is the reference point to determine the East and West groups of the eight mansions. No regards were given to the external effects of the land form and they are purely formula. It has not taken into consideration of the LianShan Yi 连山易 and GuiChang Yi 归藏易. 2) Four Major Water Mouth 四大水口 Yin House: It is available in YangGong FengShui 楊公風水, but it is not enough. It is necessary to include the application of LianShan Yi 连山易 and GuiChang Yi 归藏易, that is, after consideration such, only 48 gold divisions 分金 can be used and the 72D 龍 are rendered useless. CONCLUSIONOn the onset, when we investigated this branch of FengShui school, it looks like this school salvages all the other FengShui popular methods available and somehow stitched them together and give it a new name called Later Heaven School 后天派. It lacked the finest and the elegant of a complete doctrine of which can easily be traced from the evolution of the LuoPan rings.
However, this school attempted to garnish the stale plate of eight mansions by giving us a different perspective at defining the reference point, instead of the House Gua 宅卦 or the Life Gua 命卦, it introduces to us, a relatively new term - Main Star 主星 that almost vividly remind us of XuanKong Flying Star 玄空飞星. The definition of this Main Star 主星 is almost liked catching the Useful God 用神 of the House 宅. Different context will warrant different means to catch the Useful God 用神. As a result, given the context of Stillness 静, Floor 楼, Deity 神, Work 工, Wind 风, the Main Star 主星 or reference points are all different. It became a flux. This is only true when you investigate the notion of a House 宅. So, a House 宅 is not only define by its sitting and facing alone, but how the Main Star 主星 distributes its natal eight mansion chart and such give rise to 64 possible permutation, reminded us of 64 DaGua 大卦. But saying such, they don't actually use Gua 卦 as their reference point. Instead they use Stem and Branch 干支. On land form, this school borrowed YangGong FengShui 楊公風水 Four Major Water Mouth 四大水口 minus the 72D. On top of it, they apply another layer of Three Mountains Six Line consideration 三山六线 that is obtained via the 12 growth phases. It may also progress into the full fledged 24 Heavenly Star Method 天星, to evaluate the Main Star 主星. Having understood such, lets look back at these initial questions: - We had now know that there is this branch of BaZhai 八宅 from Qin and Han Dynasties that is named Later Heaven School 后天派 that purportedly merge SanHe 三合 with GuaQi 卦气 and it is called SanHe BaZhai 三合八宅. There isn't a need to establish House Gua 宅卦 or even Life Gua 命卦. The BaZhai Qi map is established via the Main Star 主星 that is almost liked catching the Useful God 用神. The Main Star 主星 is predetermined by the time the building is completed. However for every floor the effects will be different due to the HeTu floor elemental interplay 五行生克. Because it is technically a SanHe BaZhai 三合八宅, therefore BaZhai ShengQi 八宅生氣 is TangLang Wood star 貪狼木星 not TangLang Star One White Water star 貪狼一白水星. SanHe BaZhai 三合八宅 is unfortunately, liked Shen's Flying Star 玄空飞星 and pretend all the apartment units share the same chart based on the Main Star 主星... only the other qualifying factors liked external land form and floor elemental interplay, door locations altered its degree of prosperity or calamities, as the case maybe. The term LienShan 連山 may have been originated from the period of LienBu 連逋. Based on the evolution of ancient Chinese civilization, there is a period called the chronicles of LienBu (連逋). LienBu (連逋) comprises of 2 words one known as Lien 連 meaning "to come together" while the other means Bu 逋, meaning is "to flee". It is a period where the combination of 3 huge clans are separated into 4 clans caused by population growth within the scarcity of natural resources. THE CHINESE (華夏) THEORY OF EVOLUTION (太一生水)
"Inconceivable is the beginning, O disciples, of this faring on. The earliest point is not revealed of the running on, the faring on, of beings, cloaked in ignorance, tied by craving” - Samyutta Nikaya (Buddhist Cannon)."
What it suggests, do not bother to ask what is the origin of life as it will not be understood by those who is bound by ignorance and craving. Therefore, the Chinese simply called it the Ultimate One (太一), without the necessary to define what constitute the One.
Implying that the One, may have arisen from the “First Cause”, it is the so called God created everything. The idea of the almighty God, is strangely, spur provocative philosophical discourse by non other then the maverick, Sir Bertrand Russell in his controversial book, “Why I am NOT a Christian”. He questioned, if God is responsible for the creation of everything, then by the same implication, God must have its own creator. In a nutshell, there is a first of the First Cause ad-infinitum.
The Chinese implied that the One as nothing more than a line (At least that is the pictogram of the Chinese character One), it also implies that the One is a line connecting all the “First Causes”. The idea of connection implies movement, as a stroke of a brush. So, the ultimate stroke is the First Cause. Scientist believes that such stroke represents another controversial idea, the “Big Bang”. The Ultimate One gives birth to water Scripts is believed to be written about 300 BC during the Warring States period on 14 bamboo strips in the Chu script. At this point, 2 new ideas emerged, Heaven and Earth. It was also said, the Chinese folklore has the Giant PanGu (盤古) separating Heaven and Earth, within his anatomy, landforms were shaped and rivers were excavated. Very strange that the Chinese paints his personification as a Giant similar to the Greek mythology, Titan race of Giant Atlas. More strange is in his given name PanGu (盤古) denoting “ancient plate”.
This “plate” is referring to the Milkyway Galaxy, as modern sciences revealed it to be a resemblance of a Disc! From one point it resemble a circle, the Chinese called, the Ultimate (太), while from another angle, a slim shape Disc in the form of One (一). The noble act of the Giant PanGu (盤古) separating Heaven and Earth, marks the beginning of evolution sometimes called, Heaven and Earth fixed position (天地定位). As he decomposed, his flesh and blood turn to mountains and streams which are also known as Mountain and Stream same Qi (山泽通气), so on so forth. The script TaiYi Sheng Shui states, Heaven and Earth, assisting thus, therefore establishing Gods (spiritual enlightenment), in return establishing YinYang (Duality) (天地复相辅也,是以成神明. 神明复相辅也,是以成阴阳.).
Again, the term ShenMing (神明) is rather sketchy. This term has 2 compound words. Shen (神) can mean spirit, gods or unknown forces. Ming (明) comprising sun and moon denoting enlightenment, wisdom or knowing. When both words are conjoined, it has multiple meanings but in this context it simply denotes the seeds of human evolution. The Chinese folklore continues to say, Nuwa (女媧) created humans from the mud of the Yellow River, therefore the Chinese has a yellowish skin texture. Strange similarity from the Book of Genesis, Adam is made from earth of Eden and Eve is part of Adam, personification of the mother Earth as a goddess, in this case, half human half serpent forms liked the Greek Mythology, Medusa.
Another idea of ShenMing (神明) borrowed from the notion that states, if there is a beginning, there must be an end. If Big Bang is construed as a beginning, Big Crunch is the end. Upon the ending of the world system, lives on Earth parishes and on the other hand reborn as spiritual entities ShenMing (神明). The world system evolved to regenerate itself and when the conditions are met, such as Fire and Water does not shoot each other (水火不相射), these entities which have no gender, live within the water. When the surface of the water is exposed to the heat of the sun and coldness of the night, a crust is formed and became the sustenance of these spiritual entities. With the constant consumption, these entities take forms of single cell organism, manifesting as crude beings on a new world. This is the beginning of life.
The scripts continue to say, YinYang (Duality), assisting thus, therefore establishing the four seasons, in return establishing cold and warmth. Cold and warmth, assisting thus, therefore establishing wet and dry, in return establishing birth and dead (阴阳复相辅也,是以成四时. 四时复相辅也,是以成凔热. 凔热复相辅也,是以成湿燥. 湿燥复相辅也,成岁而止.), so on and so forth. The ending words, in return establishing birth and dead (成岁而止) has multiple implications. First, the word Sui (岁) means age and Zhi (止) means stop. Compounding bring forth the idea of life and death. The order of things is nothing more than a complete cycle of growth phases rather than the misconstrued productive or weakening cycles.
Saying thus, it laid the foundation of HeTu.

Perhaps, in the Northern Hemisphere, the compass is pointing South and an adjustment must be made while in the Southern Hemisphere instead, as the compass ought to have pointed North! 生 子 三 世 。合 雄 氏 沒 , 子 孫 相 傳 , 記 其 壽 命 , 謂 之 敘 命 紀 。通 紀 四 姓 , 生 子 二 世 。 男 女 眾 多 , 群 居 連 逋 , 從 強 而 行 , 是 謂 連 逋 紀 。 生 子 一 世 , 通 紀 五姓 , 是 謂 五 姓 紀 。天 下 群 居 , 以 類 相 親 , 男 女 眾 多 , 分 為 九 頭 , 各 有 居 方 , 故號 居 方 氏 。 沒 , 生 子 三 十 二 世 , 強 弱 相 迫 , 欲 生 吞 害 。 中 有 神 人 , 提 挺 而 治 ,故 號 提 挺 氏 。 提 挺 氏 生 子 三 十 五 紀 , 通 紀 七 十 二 姓 , 故 號 通 姓 氏 。有 巢 氏 生 ,太 古 之 先 覺 , 識 于 | Third generation, the clans has yet to be united with its descendants’ history proclaimed in narration. Thus recorded are the 4 clans. Second generation, population increased. The clans unite and disperse [thereafter called LienBu 連逋]. Moving forward such is the chronicle of LienBu 連逋. First generation, thus recorded 5 clans. It is called 5 clans chronicles. All gathers below Heaven, they are of same siblings, population increase, separate in 9 tribes, each has its own location, hence has its own name. Nay, Thirty second generation, strong and weak mutually clashed, have ingest harm. Come human and gods to establish and to rule. Set rightly the clan’s name. Yet there are 3 Yi 三易 namely: -
LienShan 连山, attributed to FuXi 伏羲
GuiChang 归藏 attributed to ShenNong 神農
ZhouYi 周易, attributed to WenWang 周文王
Yet LienShan 连山 and GuiChang 归藏 are said to be lost through time and deemed to have been incorporated into ZhouYi 周易 the forerunner of YiJing 易經, Many modern school uses ZhouYi 周易 especially deriving the concept of WenWang 周文王 LiuYaoGua 六爻卦 and apply them in XK 玄空, which technically may not be so correct.
Yet there is another "classic" called SanFen 《 三 墳 》 that attempt to bring us closer if not further away from the truth regarding 3 Yi 三易. This scripture of the 3 tombs identify that there are: -
LienShan 连山, attributed to FuXi 伏羲
GuiChang 归藏 attributed to ShenNong 神農
QianKun 乾坤 attributed to HuangDi 黃帝
So, QianKun 乾坤 attributed to HuangDi 黃帝 is much earlier compared to ZhouYi 周易, attributed to WenWang 周文王. Thus there are 4 sets of Yi 易 namely: -
LienShan 连山, attributed to FuXi 伏羲
GuiChang 归藏 attributed to ShenNong 神農
QianKun 乾坤 attributed to HuangDi 黃帝
ZhouYi 周易, attributed to WenWang 周文王
The story doesn't just end here. If you look at QianKun 乾坤 attributed to HuangDi 黃帝 it is more aptly closer to Early Heaven arrangement, attributed to FuXi 伏羲. The question remains are: -
Is the Early Heaven arrangement, attributed to HuangDi 黃帝 instead of FuXi 伏羲? Has the LienShan 连山, attributed to FuXi 伏羲 has been incorporated into the Early Heaven arrangement? Perhaps SanFen 《 三 墳 》 may shed some lights?

然 考 《 墳 》 之 所 以 有 三 , 蓋 以 山 气 形 為 別 : 君 、臣 、民 、 物 、陰 、陽 、兵 、象 ,謂 之連山; 歸 、藏 、生 、 動 、長 、育 、止 、殺 ,謂 之歸藏; 天 、地 、日 、 月 、山 、川 、云 、气 ,謂 之乾坤。 与 先 儒 之 說 《 三 墳 》 特 异 。皆 以 義 類 相 從 ,曲 盡 天 地 之 理 。 | Refer to [The Tomb] said to be 3, covering Mountain, Qi, Physiognomy as classifications: Monarch, Minister, Commoner, Matter, Yin, Yang, Soldier, Elephant are LienShan; Return, Conceal, Birth, Movement, Growth, Educate, Terminate, Killing are GuiChang; Heaven, Earth, Sun, Moon, Mountain, River, Cloud, Air are QianKun. Have former sage thus say Three Tombs unique occurance. Each has meaning resembles , attuned to Heaven and Earth principles. |
THE QUESTION NOW IS HOW DO WE MOVE FROM HERE?
The opening passage: -
人之初 (rén zhī chū) People at birth,
性本善 (xìng běn shàn) Are naturally good (kind-hearted).
性相近 (xìng xiāng jìn) their natures are similar,
習相遠 (xí xiāng yuǎn) (But) their habits make them different (from each other).
Dictates that human nature in its origin is good but their “cultivations” made them different. What caught my attention, when my 7 years old daughter asked me what is: -
有连山 (you lien shan) have combined mountains,
有归藏 (you gui chang) have hidden and revealed,
有周易 (you zhou yi) have Zhou Yi,
三易详 (san yi xiang) three Yi(s) detailed.
I am speechless for a moment and I believed it is not just “pure fortune” telling as commonly taught by her teacher. If indeed true, is that how “cultivation” are meant to be in our modern society?
The true picture may have been there are 3 Yi 三易 comprising of LienShan 连山, GuiChang 归藏 and ZhouYi 周易. LienShan 连山 and GuiChang 归藏 are no longer existed as a complete doctrine or probably merged into ZhouYi 周易. The extinction of LienShan 连山 and GuiChang 归藏 may have been attributed by the burning of books during the Qin Dynasty. However, according to some scholars, it may have survived through its fragments.
What is exactly LienShan 连山 Yi 易? The word LienShan 连山 means stacking of mountain (山) or in the language of Yi, it is Gen Gua 艮. 山山在上 refers to the peak of KunLun 崑崙 range. All the rivers have their origins from KunLun mountains. It is the source, the alpha, the law pertaining to its origin and the law governing mountains. Being the alpha, it is also Qian 乾, the Heaven. LienShan 连山 as some believes to start with Gen Gua 艮 may not necessary be true.
What is exactly GuiChang 归藏 Yi 易? The word GuiChang 归藏 means returned to the concealed or in the language of Yi, it is Kun Gua 坤. Opposite to KunLun 崑崙 range, GuiChang 归藏 refers to the Yellow River 黃河. The Yellow River 黃河 has through time changes its course and alter the landscape of China. Therefore it conceals and reveals and GuiChang 归藏 is the law pertaining to water, source of ShengQi and the omega. Being omega, it is also the Kun 坤, the mother Earth. GuiChang 归藏 as some believes to start with Kun Gua 坤 and attributed to a set of BaGua dug up from the scripture of MaWangDui 馬王堆 . Later scholars attributed these set of BaGua to be as the same with YuanBao 元包經 BaGua or ShenNong 神農 BaGua. ShenNong being the legendary sages of Chinese Medicine, YuanBao 元包經 BaGua is also being adopted in Chinese Medicine.
The story of 3 Yi has taken another twist with the involvement of its founder. Where ShenNong is credited to have invented GuiChang 归藏, between FuXi (伏羲) and HuangDi (黃帝), who has invented LienShan 连山 and ZhouYi 周易? Someone pointed out that to understand LienShan 连山 and GuiChang 归藏, the secrets are within this Daoist Scripture -道法本無多. How true can that be?

道法本無多,南辰灌北河,寫來三七數,趕盡世間魔。
道法不用多,南斗降北河,總成一個字,斷盡世間魔。
用法不須多,南蛇光北河,只消一個字,寒精一界魔。
道法本無多,南蛇貫北河,手持三尺劍,降盡世間魔。
道法本無多,嵐蛇泛百河,都來一個字,強盡世間魔。
道法不須多,南宸貫北河,只消一個字,降盡世間魔。
道法本無多,南泉貫北河,都來一個字,強盡世間魔。

道法不須多,南宸降北河,五雷三帝印,只消加一字,
降盡世間鬼。
Translation: - The method of Dao is not much, south Dragon (辰) controls river north, come to write 3 7 numbers, hurry expel the world of evil. The method of Dao has not much use, south dipper descends river north, compose formed a single word, breaking completely the world of evil. The method of use is not much, south serpent (蛇) Illuminates River north, merely needs a single word, freezing the essence of the world of evil. The method of Dao is not much, south serpent (蛇) controls river north, hand held 3 foot (尺) sword, slash completely the world of evil. The method of Dao is not much, misty serpent (蛇) floods the 100 rivers, already come a single word, compel exhausting the world of evil. The method of Dao may not be many, south royal (宸) controls river north, may need only one word, descend capitulating the world of evil. The method of Dao is not much, south well (泉) control river north, entirely comes one word, compel exhausting the world of evil. The method of Dao is not much, south well (泉) control white crane, commonly use one word, descend capitulating the world of evil. The method of Dao need not use many, south pole is river north, compose formed a single word, swept clean the world of evil. The method of Dao is not much, south Dragon (辰) controls river north, already come twenty one, combine completely the world of evil. The method of Dao need not be many, south mountain controls river north, merely arm with one breath, exhaust used the world of evil. The old wise gentleman (老君) single lock, heavenly master (天師) delivers upon me, merely need one word, cast away completely the world of evil. The method of the Buddha is not much, south direction control river north, sums up twenty seven figure, lean up the world of evil. The method of the Buddha is not much, south Dragon (辰) controls river north, purple enclosure (紫微) true wondrous method, dispense completely the world of evil. The method of the Buddha is not much, south royal (宸) penetrates river north, regard come without use, combines to chop the world of evil. The method of Dao must not be many, south royal (宸) subdue river north, 5 thunders 3 emperor’s seal, merely need to add one word, descend exhausting the world of ghost. | Commentary: - The Method of Dao (道) or Buddha (佛) is of not much, of not much use, use is not much, may not be many, need not use many and these terms, use (用) and not much (本無多), have been repeatedly apply interchangeably. What does these phrases suggest or signify? After the term Dao (道) and the Buddha (佛) has been applied, LaoZi (老君) was mentioned together with Heavenly Master (天師). These figures are more aptly linked to Dao (道) rather than to the Buddha (佛). What has the method of the Buddha (佛) so significant that the Dao (道) needs to borrow perhaps the swastika 萬佛字 (卐)? What is so significant about LaoZi (老君) and it also implied the Heavenly title of 太上老君? His famous opening phrase, 道可道, 非常道 has anything to do with 道法本無多? 老君一把鎖. What can be construed as LaoZi single lock? What is this lock that the phrase is referring to? 鎖 has an operative meaning or simply pointing to YinYang 陰陽? Heavenly Master (天師) probably mean Jiang TianShi 張天師 or the Hexagram 師 and 天? Heavenly master (天師) delivers upon me (交付我) what sort of things? If indeed it was referring to Jiang TianShi 張天師, he was known for his 5 thunder charms 五雷符. For the initiated, talisman writing has many rules and regulations but what does it represents in this context? Perhaps the key is with this word thunder 雷 or Zhen 辰 Gua-3? Significant to Heavenly Master (天師) is probably this phrase - 五雷三帝印 5 thunders 3 emperor’s seal. One interpretation is that the 5 thunder charms 五雷符 are meant to evoke the Five Camps of Military Army 五营兵将. These are supposed to be Daoist spiritual soldiers canonized during the Shang Dynasty lead by Jiang ZiYa 姜子牙. Is this phrase referring to Jiang ZiYa 姜子牙 8 Trigrams as in the method of military movement and formation? 三帝 or the Three Sovereigns are FuXi (伏羲), ShenNong (神農) and HuangDi (黃帝). The question is what exactly are their seals? Rather if their seals meant their 8 Trigrams? So, we have the Early Heaven FuXi's BaGua, Middle Heaven ShenNong's BaGua and Later Heaven HuangDi's BaGua? River North (北河) has been repeated numerously and linked to 100 Rivers (百河) and White Crane (白鶴), What exactly does River North meant, Kan 坎 Gua-1? River North (北河) has been controlled, descends, illuminated, flooded, leads, penetrated, subdued, by: … Dragon (辰), … Dipper (斗), … Serpent (蛇), … Royal (宸), … Well (泉), … Pole (極), … Mountain (山), … Meal (膳), These 8 matters, 辰斗)蛇)宸泉極山膳 that may constitute the 8 Trigrams? In the order or sequence of: … three (3) and seven (7), 3+7=10, combo 10, … a single word (一個字), … 3 foot (三尺劍) sword, … come twenty one (二十一), … one breath (一口氣), … sums up twenty seven figure (廿七數), … purple enclosure (紫微) true wondrous method (真妙法), … come without use (無邊法) How do you arrange the sequence of the LienShan and GuiChang Yi? |
SEQUENCE OF YOUR TAIQI
Liked any FengShui method, what makes it ticks is the underlying application and what is probably known as Mid-Heaven BaGua. Without knowing this it is as good as theory. The LuoPan only shows you the Heaven and Earth plate. It never tells you about application. If really that XKDG is about Heaven Qi, how do one link it to Earth and Human? There are three components. Heaven, Man and Earth Gua. You have the 2 without the 3rd, things cannot work consistently. It is really not about date selection, tilted door and matching to the person's Gua. It is more of arranging YinYang from the 2 slices, 4 imagery and the mysterious Mid-Heaven Gua. This is sort of the very reason why so many courses offered out there are plain rubbish.
If you Google and search for Mid-Heaven Gua, probably you will find one version called YuanBao BaGua. It is the same species someone dug out from DunHuang cave years ago... Is this the Mid-Heaven Gua applied to XKDG? Ha... you just can't trace over that into your LuoPan and simply use it? Strangely, you will also come to notice in a very near future, some masters may be teaching Mid-Heaven Gua in their XKDG syllabus.
