YUAN GUA 元卦Learnt that in Australia there is a revival of another form of SanYuan method. This is called YuanGua 元卦 method. Claimed to have been from the pedigree of GanZhou under the lineage of Liu JingDong, one of the first generation of disciple of Yang YunSong. For more historical account of him, read ‘here’. What is interesting of the claim from this lineage is, they are the only ‘family’ that is allowed to teach the ‘genuine YangGong’ FengShui method to outsiders. Very ‘fishy claim’. The other interesting part of the story is, the ‘transmission of knowledge’ was intact since the ‘cultural revolution’. A good point to ponder, as to how much has really left? Anyway, the ‘lineage holder’ is only allowed to teach the first of three parts within the entire knowledge for mass consumption. It was said that YuanGua 元卦 provides:
FORM 形 YuanGua 元卦 pays heavy emphasis on water mouth 水口, instead of dragon 龍.So far this is ‘agreeable’ compared to the ‘mass consumption knowledge’ of SanHe. When the period is ‘prosper’ and the prosperous ‘star’ is in the water mouth sector, the entire area will not be prosperous. This is because the prosperity is being ‘flushed out’. YuanGua 元卦 measures period based on the LoShu 洛書內丹盤. Quoting instances as in Melbourne, during period 2 there was a massive depression. In Sydney, during period 4 almost the same time the Sydney Opera House was built, another massive depression hit Sydney. Unfortunately this is not always true, for other cases. You can always do a ‘reverse engineering’ to proof this point. QI 氣YuanGua 元卦 pays heavy emphasis of immediate landform to Eight Killing 八煞黃泉. This method has been prescribed ‘here’. The only catch here is, YuanGua 元卦 defines, ‘fake’ and ‘real’ Eight Killing 八煞黃泉. This is ‘real’ Eight Killing 八煞黃泉 when conform will ‘screw up your FengShui’ big time, either in health 丁 via Eight Killing 八煞 or in wealth 財 via Yellow Spring 黃泉.There is an undisclosed way of determining this but in landform 形 itself it is very easy to strike this unlucky formation, especially in ‘terrace houses’. CRITIQUES Is kind of a cool, to belong to a lineage. There are plenty of lineages for sales in GanZhou, GuangXi. You take a stone and throw, almost anybody got hit is a lineage holder of GuangXi YangGong FengShui especially central within the descendants of Yang楊, Zheng曾, Liao廖 and Liu劉. This is where people says, abusing lineage rocks become lineage sucks!
The Liu劉 method has been largely available in the masses covering all the ‘popular theories’ from the Taiwanese styles SanHe to the HonKee styled QMDJ. The YangGong ‘old method’ school prescribed that these were watered down methodologies. The late LDX has a point, especially when you reworked the YangGong methods against the Eight Killing 八煞黃泉, one will notice that when YangGong methods are in place, Eight Killing has been automatically taken care of. SiMa Water Method 司马头陀水法 is only an extension to the YangGong methods.

The YiGua 64 Hexagram is not only represented in 2D. Many ‘scholars’ of the YiJing had attempted to describe the 64 Hexagram of YiGua into 3D. But what exactly would you want to achieve by such permutation in 3D? For one, YiGlobe tends to prescribed, “If the hexagrams of the I Ching are arranged in the space between the Creative and the Receptive according to the laws of change – and following the principles of symmetry and balance – a sphere will be produced. This sphere represents the whole universe, similarly to other circular and spherical symbols found in the myths. This is the Yi-globe.” Well, in other words, “sphere represents the whole universe, similarly to other circular and spherical symbols found in the myths” is like telling you “I know nuts about what I talking about.” For another, Nassim attempted to give meaning to the YiGua into his model of the universe, torus by relying on ‘artificial assumption’ based on writings in the internet. He is close, but not yet there… The ‘torus’ model showing one, uplift motion corresponding to another downward motions can represent how Qi spiral, thus the figure ‘8’ of the Early Heaven BaGua. Truly, how was these derived? For the proponent of SanYuan DaGua SYDG 三元大卦 (Not XuanKong DaGua XKDG, as they know nuts about these), this 3D models attempt to ‘categorise’ the family, its usage, its efficacy and last but not least, its ‘effect’ of how an application of the Early Heaven principle be represented in the Later Heaven arrangement to be applied via its Middle Heaven application. Yes, you read it correctly, Early-Later-Middle. The magic is vested in the ‘Mid Heaven Gua’. That can be rationalise in this 3D model. Surprising, this is exactly how, olden day master teach this 3D of ‘hyperspace’ to their students, way way back before we have developed the branch of physics called, string an m-theories. Hey, who says our ancestors are human? They are alien… I will not go into ‘nitty gritty’ of illustrating how this 3D is assemble, but just give a teaser as to what the outlook is… You construct ‘A’ you get ‘B’ and you distil ‘C’… This again, is not ‘lineage secret’ but many schools did not know such fundamental. If only they know, they will ‘discard’ XKDG in favour of SYDG. This is also where your ‘application’ of BaZhai is derived from. Happy hunting…
天地人,三才 meaning Heaven Earth Man, the 3 matters, aptly to be called 三元,SanYuan has been bastardised in Chinese Metaphysics, more so in 风水,FengShui because most of the people talking about these are 江湖师,or common masters with shady pedigree. They have to resort to everything to make up the bucket full. Is ok, what to do? No right or wrong about it...
More importantly, have anyone discussed before the effects of 中天卦,or Mid Heaven Gua to the effect of FengShui? What is this? We were told that there is 先天卦,Early Heaven Gua is known to be something you want to control but you cannot control.... this is the 天,Heaven aspect of things. 后天卦,Later Heaven Gua is something you can control, but many people fails to control... this is the 人,Human aspect of things. 中天卦,Mid Heaven Gua is where you can control the uncontrollable ... this is 地,Earth aspect of things. Did anyone explain these? I purposely wrote about 天地人盘,Heaven Earth Human Plate as a pre cursor but it does not explain the meaning of 三元,SanYuan or 三才,SanCai... many also confused that 人 aspect is 中天,Mid Heaven... entirely misleading because of the wrong perception of 人,human always in between Heaven and Earth. They are confused as to which Heaven one is measuring... Having said that where is your 中天卦,mid heaven Gua? Go ask your 师父,Master where is this illusive things? Sure they tell you is lost.... because they will say, 连归卦,Lian Gui Gua, no longer exist. These they erred big time. Because, every legitimate 风水,FengShui method, there is 中天卦,mid heaven Gua application, otherwise the method doesn't work! So, do you need 八字,BaZi? In BaZi, the entire trinity of 三才,SanCai is already there... The 天,Heaven aspect of the natal chart, is the 定卦,Fixed unchanging Gua, the LP, is the 易卦,the 人,human aspect.... where is the 地 Earth aspect? So, as one can see... it is not true that you need to use BaZi in order to do FengShui.... BaZi itself has its own 中天, mid heaven. No need to mix and match. I don't blame anyone using 易经,YiJing for inspiration to make up another bucket full of craps... YiLi 易理,is the philosophical aspect governing 人 human aspect, not 地, Earth as in FengShui. That is why when we ask, how your YinYang turns, nobody can answer… This is very fundamental, but not many people knows and alas, all these 江湖师,or common masters with shady pedigree come out by the bucket loads to teach FengShui… Often you heard that 生死有命,富贵在天,meaning Life and Death is within your Fate, Prosperity and Nobility is granted by Heaven. So you can see, it is entirely different matter. FengShui is dealing most with Nobility and Prosperity and this has to do with Heaven, something you wish to control but cannot control. Because of this people linked it with Karma, and it is one thing that is incomprehensible, Acinteyya (a pali word, please google for its meaning), yet people speaks about it pretending to be holier of the holiest. This is not FengShui... Everyone is born in this world not as an 'untainted white sheet', each is the bearer of one own's karma. Who grant you the authority to muddle into other people's affair, especially so by using, FengShui? So you can see... that is why genuine school will tell you to 话说七分留三分,留下三分积儿孙。Quote seven points reserve three points, leaving behind three points for your children and grandchildren.... are you going to conveniently use BaZi to diagnose someone else problem and use FengShui to cure? Who are you? God? And truly, if FengShui can only works for people who is good luck, therefore you need to vet their FengShui first, may I suggest, you don't do FengShui, stamp collection is a better choice. In fact, Good Luck people no need to hire FengShui master, anything they do is already good vibes. Bad Luck people also no need to hire FengShui master because whoever they hire is lousy Masters, so their FengShui cannot work... so why bother looking at their BaZi? No brainer isn't it? Not only that, we also learnt where SanYuan people adopted the earliest known 60 Hexagrams into their DaGua Plate 大卦盤 through the now extinct LianShan 連山, GuiChang 歸藏, ZhouYi 周易 to come out with HunTian 渾天 Gua卦. It is also from here, that we learnt as to how the pre-SanYuan people adopted the SanBan Gua techniques 卦取三般. More importantly how these people analyse the SanBan Gua 三般卦 through the lenses of Obscure Heaven NaJia 渾天納甲. This, unfortunately is not simple, but the “rocket sciences” of the day that include QiMen 奇門 – as in the Three Mysterious 三奇 and the Four Auspicious 四吉. THE THREE MYSTERIOUS AND FOUR AUSPICIOUS 三奇四吉This term is not unusual for the field of QiMen 奇門 but is highly unusual in the field of YangGong FengShui. In QiMen 奇門 the Three Mysterious 三奇 is referring to Yi乙, Bing丙 and Ding丁. These 3 stems are the imperial families of Jia甲, the emperor. Yi乙 is the sister of Jia. Bing丙 is the Prince to Jia甲 and Ding丁 is the Princess to Jia甲. Collectively these 3 stems are the known as the Three Mysterious 三奇. When the Three Mysterious 三奇 are present, the outcome of the particular palace is known to be auspicious. Even in the face of a Killing Qi, its effect will be neutralized. The Four Auspicious 四吉 is not unusual for the field of QiMen 奇門 as it refers to the 8 Doors. 4 of these doors are auspicious such as Rest休, Life生, Open開 and Harm傷. When the Four Auspicious 四吉 are present, the outcome of the particular palace for human factors are auspicious. LOCATING THE THREE MYSTERIOUS 三奇 Based on the same chart called 6Jia Streams Establishing FuTou 六甲旬符頭, for every 6Jia Streams 六甲旬, there is a stem that Jia (the Emperor) would hide itself in. This is called DunJia 遁甲, Hiding the Jia甲. These Stems (being the Generals), where the Jia甲 would hide itself, is called XunShou 旬首. There are 6 XunShou 旬首. ESTABLISHING THE EARTH PLATE 地盤Take this Obscure Heaven 60D 渾天60龍 as an example… This 60D BingZi has given this Wind over Water, Kun 困 Hexagram - Trap. BingZi found itself within Great Snow 大雪 of the 24 JieQi 節氣, Middle Hou 中候, YinDun 陰遁 – reverse order, taking Ju7 七局 – where the following FuTou 符頭 is JiaXu stream starts from Dui the order of Wu戊, Ji己, Geng庚, Xin辛, Ren壬, Gui癸, Ding丁, Bing丙, Yi乙 in the reverse order. As a result, you will obtain the Earth Plate. ESTABLISHING THE HEAVEN PLATE 天盤From the Earth Plate, locate XunShou旬首 for JiaXu stream is Ji己 and it is located at Qian palace. Replace Wu戊 in Dui palace with XunShou旬首 - Ji己 and rotate accordingly. As a result, you will obtain Heaven Plate. The Three Mysterious 三奇 are located as the followings: -
LOCATING THE FOUR AUSPICIOUS 四吉 Before one can locate the Four Auspicious 四吉 Door, one has to locate the Lead Star that is also known as the Purple Star 紫星. In QiMen 奇門, it is known that the Star 星 gives power to the Door 門. The Purple Star 紫星 is located at XunShou旬首 - Ji己 Earth Plate Qian Palace (6). Replace the star #6, which is the Purple Star 紫星, into the Dui palace and rotate accordingly. As the Purple Star 紫星 empowers the Door 門, the Open Door 開 now becomes the Lead Door also known as the Purple Door 紫門. Replace the Open Door 開 - Purple Door 紫門 into the Dui Palace and rotate accordingly… As a result, the Four Auspicious 四吉 Door are located as the followings: -
CONCLUSIONThis is the FIRST TIME, QiMen FengShui has been disclosed in this manner. In the common technique of QiMen for FengShui, especially so from the Money squeezing Academy of Chinese metaphysics (MsAocm), QiMen FengShui is mainly used for Remote Sensing, whereby a QiMen chart is open and a prediction is made based on the ingredients of the chart to say: -

From this point onward, it is obvious that the pre-SanYuan XianTian YuanKong DaGua QiMen DunJia 三元先天元空大卦奇門遁甲 has its root from the HunTian Gua 渾天卦 application, where the 60 Obscure Heaven Gua 渾天 卦 are preset with the Static QiMen Plate 奇門盤. Mapping against the QiMen Flying Palaces 飛宫奇門, you will find that Both Horse 馬 and Noblemen 貴 is in Kun Palace (2), while the formation does not contain the Salaried Officer 祿. It simply means to say, this 60D do not bring about WEALTH factor for its later generation... What a MISS! CONCLUSIONAll these “rocket sciences” ultimately narrowed down a technique called – 1080 Lines Method 線法. Some believed that this is a long lost method of the final rim within the SanHe LuoPan. Other dismissed it as simply – Pure Nonsense. It is within 0.33 degree accuracy. Before we narrow down our exploration down this path, let us also investigate what is probably known as the 3 Mysterious and the 4 Auspicious 三奇四吉. That will be another story for another time. Unlike the normal 6Yao Divination techniques, the Self is not referred to as it is related to the deceased. Take this Obscure Heaven 60D 渾天60龍 as an example… This 60D BingZi has given this Wind over Water, Kun 困 Hexagram - Trap. By virtue of Obscure Heaven NaJia 渾天納甲, we obtained: - Child 子 is in 4th Yao Father 父 is in 2nd and 6th Yao Wealth 財 is in 1st Yao Officer 官 in 3rd Yao All these 5 Relations 五亲 are presence in this example. This Hexagram conforms to bring tidings to Resources and Descendent Luck, Wealth and Officer Relationships. The question now is which are the sectors that will bring GOOD TIDINGS? The 6 Yao Method 六爻法 is supposed to have its own way to insert the “directional factors” into the equation by adopting the 4 Heraldic Beasts Methodology 四象法. However this is not the case… Instead, it opted for QiMen 奇門… giving hint the possibility that the 6 Yao’s 6 Heraldic Beasts Method 六爻六象法 is a later modification or invention derived from QiMen 奇門. SANYUAN QIMEN 三元奇門 QiMen 奇門, being one of the oldest art forms are the mother of SanYuan 三元. The entire framework of SanYuan 三元 is built upon the foundation of QiMen 奇門 via a perpetual set of clockworks that closely knitted to the calendric system. To further understand such, you ought to know these fundamentals such as JieQi 節氣, Hou 候, Dun 遁 and Ju 局. The 60D 60龍, having 6 of its pair receiving additional 2 Hou 候 will give a total of 72 Hou 候 of the 24 JieQi 節氣 or Seasonal Node. From these 24 seasonal nodes, the first half are Yang Dun 遁 and the second half are Yin Dun 遁. This YinYang threshold is a border that will cut through the winter 冬至 and the summer solstices 夏至. LOCATING THE 6 JIA LEAD 六甲旬符頭In SanYuan 三元 the 60 JiaZi are generally grouped into Streams 旬 of 6, being each controlling 10 JiaZi. Therefore the lead stem or FuTou 符頭 are the 6Jia 六甲, leaders of the streams. In this exercise, one ought to locate the leaders of every Yao’s JiaZi. It is a common understanding that SanYuan is the offspring of SanHe but very little is known of the bridge of how SanYuan is born out of SanHe. Both mainstream schools share closely knitted fundamentals where the 60 JiaZi, notably the hallmark of SanHe, at one point became the 64 Gua, the hallmark of SanYuan. Historically speaking, YangGong, being the forefather of KanYu only has one school. As time passes by, schism arises and this One School is separated into GuFa Pai 古法派 or Old School and XingFa Pai 新法派 or New School. Unlike the former, the later has been generally known as SanHe. This later school includes many other forms of techniques and methodologies not found in GuFa 古法 to a degree it is so confusing and complicated that a new form of KanYu is consolidated, not invented, and was branded as SanYuan, predominantly the birth of the 64 DaGua Ring 大卦盤. Looking at the revival of XingFa 新法 predominantly practice in HongKong, the use of 72 Penetrating Mountain Dragon 穿山龍 and 60 Penetrating Earth Dragon 透地龍 are at large. Some XingFa 新法 school notably the Liu JiangDong sect adopted technical jargons that are unique and seldom heard of before. A glossary of terminologies are as the followings: - 1. 6 Yao NaJia 六爻纳甲 is Obscure Heaven NaJia 渾天纳甲 2. Penetrating Mountain Dragon 穿山龍 is Penetrating Mountain Tiger 穿山虎 3. LuoPan 羅盤 is Precious Mirror 寶鏡 Many modern academies especially one in Bolehland called, the Money squeezing Academy of Chinese metaphysics (MsAocm) cannot reconcile the theories and application behind the 60 Penetrating Earth Dragon 透地龍. Contemplate this - First observe penetrating mountain tiger, Directional moving earth surfacing dragon… New Method 新法 termed the commonly called Penetrating Mountain Dragon 穿山龍 as Penetrating Tiger 穿山虎. This is an attempt to differentiate between Penetrating Mountain Tiger 穿山虎 and Penetrating Earth Dragon 透地龍. The terms – Dragon 龍 and Tiger 虎 have to be used in pair. That is why it is said that first, use the Penetrating Mountain Tiger 穿山虎 to determine the True Incoming Dragon 真龍入首. Then, to seek out the true Vein 龍脉 use Penetrating Earth Dragon 透地龍. Dragon 龍 and Tiger 虎 have to mutually match just like the spirit 魂 and the soul 魄. These relationships between the Dragon 龍 and the Tiger 虎 are based on the 5 NaYin elemental interplay 納音五行生克. Honestly speaking, it sounds fantastic in theory but faulty in application, especially in YangZhai 陽宅. To say, it is applicable in YinZhai 陰宅, is also very force fitting. The operative word, is this term - true vein 龍脉, what does it actually measure and how do you measure in YangZhai 陽宅 condominium? Complications come in the following passage - Obscure Heaven opens the precious mirror 渾天開寶鏡. Precious Mirror 寶鏡 is a term, New Method 新法 use to mean – the LuoPan 羅盤 (Gosh, can’t they think of something simpler?). Obscure Heaven 渾天, on another hand, is something even more complex… First, it refers to its connection with the entire 24 JieQi 二十四節氣. 1. Penetrating Earth Dragon 透地龍 comprises of 30 pairs of JiaZi 甲子. 2. Each JiaZi 甲子 supposing, controls 1 Hou 候. 3. However, there are 6 pairs controlling 2 Hou 候 each. 4. Thus, made up the entire 72 Hou 候 of the 24 JieQi 二十四節氣. That is where the 60 Dragon 龍 has a closely knitted connection with the 72 Tiger 虎 through these 72 Hou 候. Second, it refers to its connection with the Hexagram to form the 60 Principle Gua 本卦. As a result, there are 4 rings of 30 pairs of JiaZi 甲子 with its assigned hexagram as the following: - 1. Obscure Heaven Gua 渾天卦, whereby JiaZi 甲子 raised Kan Gua 坎卦. 2. GuiZang 歸藏, whereby JiaZi 甲子 raised Shen Gua 頣卦. 3. LianShan 連山, whereby JiaZi 甲子 raised Xie Gua 解卦. 4. ZhouYi 周易, whereby JiaZi 甲子 raised Bi Gua 比卦. These are the predecessors to the commonly known 64 DaGua Ring 大卦盤. HEAVEN YUAN 天元 – LIANSHAN PRINCIPAL HEXAGRAM 連山本卦 LianShan 連山 is the oldest form of Gua arrangement, believed to have been from the Xia Dynasty through the scripture of LianShan, now extinct. LianShan 連山 is pictorially mountain above mountain, represented by the Gen Gua 艮卦 nested within the Qian sector. Gen takes over Qian – the same arrangement to what is known as the Early Heaven sequence. Therefore, it is also known as the Heaven Yuan Principal Hexagram Order 天元本卦. In the order of the 60 Penetrating Earth Dragon 透地龍, it takes the HongLuan JiaZi arrangement 紅鸞甲子, where JiaZi 甲子 raised Xie Gua 解卦. In some school, this 60 Heaven Yuan LianShan Principal Gua Penetrating Earth Dragon 天元連山本卦透地龍 is an extension to Lai BuYi 賴布衣 Human Plate Middle Needle, RenPan ZhongZhen 人盤中針. HUMAN YUAN 人元 – ZHOUYI PRINCIPAL HEXAGRAM 周易本卦ZhouYi 周易 is the “latest” form of Gua arrangement, believed to have been created by Zhou WenWang 周文王, that we commonly called YiJing . ZhouYi 周易 is modelled against the Later Heaven sequence with Qian Gua as the principal Gua, with 4 cardinal Gua removed namely Li, Kan, Zhen and Dui. Because ZhouYi 周易 is modelled against the natural order, it is also known as the Human Yuan Principal Hexagram Order 人元本卦. In the order of the 60 Penetrating Earth Dragon 透地龍, it also takes the HongLuan JiaZi arrangement 紅鸞甲子, where JiaZi 甲子 raised Bi Gua 比卦. Surprisingly, this is not use in KanYu. Now, you know the pedigree of “Master Trainer” from Money squeezing Academy of Chinese metaphysics (MsAocm) of Bolehland teaching ZhouYi 周易 as the principal Hexagram for 64 DaGua 大卦. Where he gets this idea from? EARTH YUAN 地元 – GUIZANG PRINCIPAL HEXAGRAM 歸藏本卦GuiZang 歸藏 is the second oldest form of Gua arrangement, believed to have been from the Shang Dynasty, now extinct. GuiZang 歸藏 means return to the concealment or containment, represented by the Kun Gua nested within the Qian sector. Kun takes over Qian – the same arrangement to what is known as the Middle Heaven sequence. Therefore, it is also known as the Earth Yuan Principal Hexagram Order 地元本卦. In the order of the 60 Penetrating Earth Dragon 透地龍, it takes the HongLuan JiaZi arrangement 紅鸞甲子, where JiaZi 甲子 raised Shen Gua 頣卦. In some school, this 60 Earth Yuan GuiZang Principal Gua Penetrating Earth Dragon 地元歸藏本卦透地龍 is an extension to YangGong Earth Plate, DiPan 地盤. PENETRATING TIGER AND DRAGON YUAN 穿龍虎元 – OBSCURE HEAVEN PRINCIPAL HEXAGRAM 渾天本卦Not many people heard of HongLuan JiaZi 紅鸞甲子. Even lesser people know of Obscure Heaven Hexagram 渾天卦. Other contemporary scholars believed that this arrangement were created much later by Zhang JiuYi 張九儀, through his writing such as Earth Principle Penetrating Mountain and Earth True Transmission 地理穿山透地真傳, is the so called - Middle Heaven 中天卦, only known by people of that school. Most of the Hexagrams were repeated and were assigned throughout the 60 Penetrating Earth Dragon 透地龍 taking the Penetrating Mountain JiaZi 穿山甲子 instead, where JiaZi 甲子 raised Kan Gua 坎卦. In some school, this Penetrating Tiger and Dragon Yuan Obscure Heaven Principal Gua Penetrating Earth Dragon 穿龍虎元渾天本卦透地龍 is an extension to YangGong Heaven Plate, TianPan 天盤. Very strange that such was never mentioned in the 3 collections of YangGong classics, wonder if it is really the genuine teaching of YangGong FengShui? THE THREE YUAN 三元In conclusion, because ZhouYi 周易 is not used in the art of KanYu, therefore 3 out of 4 rings namely: -
These 3 sets of 60D rings form the foundation of the Great SanYuan 大三元. Later days masters, probably as the first generation of SanYuan schools, restructure these Great SanYuan 大三元 and assigned what is probably known as the LianShan GuiZang Gua 連山歸藏卦 into the Circle and Square Diagram 方圓圖, where it became the basis of the 64 DaGua Ring 大卦盤. Only the Heaven and Earth Plate was shown. There is the “missing” Human Plate of the SanYuan DaGua. The true application is in the “missing” Human Plate of the SanYuan DaGua. ZhenShen 正神. LingShen 零神. ZhaoShen 照神, some called them Direct, Indirect and Sub-direct Spirit principles are the backbone of the Huge SanYuan 大三元, that these conditions must be fulfilled for these techniques to bring results. This is almost liked the True Commandment. However, different schools, different strokes, especially XuanKong schools 玄空派. It was so corrupted these days that we were so familiar with the Flying Star school approach 玄空飛星學, we thought that it is the only true method. The classic said, “The real key to understand LingShen and ZhengShen is that water is considered prosperous when it is declining and mountain is considered prosperous when it is timely”. Unfortunately, it does not define what water is and what mountain is. Most of the XuanKong schools 玄空派 will take mountain and water almost literary. Mountain is immovable therefore Yin, Water flowing therefore it is Yang. No argument about that. Where there must be mountain, XuanKong schools 玄空派 will advise you to build a building or to put heavy furniture. Where there must be water, XuanKong schools 玄空派 will advise you to build a water feature or to dig a pond. These are also among the pet methods of XuanKong DaGua 玄空大卦. LOSHU ESTABLISHES DIRECT/INDIRECT 雒書定零正The first approach – is a fixed pattern based on the LuoShu. It is also known as the Static Plate. Generally, the LoShu is made out of period 1-9 having the period-5 in the centre. Collectively, period 1-4 is known as the Upper Cycle and period 6-9 is known as the Lower Cycle. What is deemed to be a place to see mountain in the Upper Cycle may change to be a place to see water in the Lower Cycle. The same is true for the place to see water in the Upper Cycle may change to be a place to see mountain in the Lower Cycle. This is called, FengShui forever changing… wonder when it will reach my turn 風水輪流轉, 何時到我家? Specifically, in Period-8 the ZhengShen 正神 is in the NE-8 GenGua. Because in Period-8, Gen location is timely, therefore vibrant. Overly Yang will not produce. Therefore it cannot see water, which is Yang in nature. It must see mountain, which is Yin in nature. The opposite direction, SW-2 KunGua, is untimely and it is the LingShen 零神 where it should see water, which is Yang in nature to make it vibrant once more. The HeTu of 8 is 3, therefore E-3 is known as ZhaoShen 照神. Because it is untimely, it should see water, which is Yang in nature. In layman terms, in Period-8 (2004-2024), NE will see prosperity. So much vibrant that the concentration of people will see development of high-rises of high densities in a cramp spaces. High densities and cramp spaces are the signifier of mountain. Because of over population, the opposite SW which is less vibrant would see people expanding outward occupying the “empty” space of SW. This is the signifier of water. The neighbor of SE which is E will also benefited from it – potential growth center, signifier of water. Based on this “layman terms”, do you still see mountain as mountain and water as water? Wherever you see mountain it denotes, the prosperity has reached its pinnacle and in the progress of declining. Wherever you see water it denotes, the growth potential of that place is picking up and it is going to be the future development for that area. These are the 2 barometers in forecasting the timing of growth of a particular space in SanYuan space time continuum. THE LITMUS TEST – KLANG VALLEY Bolehland’s Kuala Lumpur’s prosperity is annexe to the Klang River. It flows from the northeast to the southwest. This river exits through the Klang harbour. Klang has been a town since the 14 century before the tin mining revolution. It was the capital of Selangor in an earlier era prior to the emergence of Kuala Lumpur and the current capital, Shah Alam. The birth of Kuala Lumpur was due to the water mouth known to be the confluence of Gombak and Klang River as the growth catalyst through the 1820s. By 1950s Kuala Lumpur is already congested. A new town called Petaling Jaya was born. Petaling Jaya became the satellite town of Kuala Lumpur, as an industrialised township. By 1960s Petaling Jaya itself is congested. More water mouths along the Klang River has been locked by then. Fast-forward another 30 years, Shah Alam was born. It takes over Petaling Jaya as an industrialised township. Unfortunately Shah Alam has many water mouths unlock. In the midst of expansion, another town is created called Subang Jaya around 1970s, supporting Petaling Jaya. Therefore since the 1980s to 2000, growth centres had been slow reaching the western part of Shah Alam towards Klang itself. THE PROOF OF THE PUDDING IS IN THE EATING KL circa 1920s – Period-4. By 1950s Kuala Lumpur is already congested. In Period 5, for the first 10 years it follows Period-4. So, the first 10 years SE-4 would have been congested. SE of KL is Kajang. Unfortunately, Kajang has not been developed since! What about the next 10 years that follows Period-6, NW-6 would be congested? NW of KL is Sungai Buloh. This area is use to be the known as the town for the leprosy because of its seclusion… Reverse engineer, looking at the LingShen 零神, opposite of SE is NW and in fact, both are secluded areas. Sungai Buloh, now being part of PJ prosper around 2000s – Period-8. PJ circa 1960s – Period 6. NW-6 should have been congested by then, SE-4 should have been the new growth centre. SE of PJ is Puchong and Sri Kembangan. It is true that urban spiralling has reached the SE of PJ, but this only happened in the 1990s when the ex-mining and dumpsite has been reclaimed. Instead it was Subang Jaya, SW of PJ that is booming during the 1970s. SJ circa 1970s – Period 6. NW-6 should have been congested by then, SE-4 should have been the new growth centre. SE of SJ is Puchong and Sri Kembangan. It is true that urban spiralling has reached the SE of SJ, but this only happened in the 1990s, Period-7. Instead, the W part of PJ proper developed into SA. SA circa 1990s – Period 7. W-7 should have been congested by then, E-3 should have been the new growth centre. E of SA is PJ, already a congested place. PutarJaya circa 2000 – Period 8. NE-8 should have been congested by then, SW-2 should have been the new growth centre. SW of KL is Puchong and Sri Kembangan. Instead the government of Bolehland decided to move to PutarJaya which is the S of KL. CONCLUSIONThe application of Direct/Indirect Spirit or ZhenShen 正神. LingShen 零神. ZhaoShen 照神 based on the current understanding available in the market FAILED miserably in this litmus test. It is NEVER to be applied in this manner... Timeliness is also not meant to be applied in this manner... The FORTUNE of a place is dependable on its WATER MOUTH. First – look at the water mouth! If it is locked – you PROSPER. If it is not lock – you PAUPER. Prosperity of a place, begins with the river – source of transportation. Where two rivers meet, people from different places would gathered and trade. Trade is the foundation of Prosperity. When trade occur, a market place will exist. Store houses will be built close to the water mouth. These are the “mountain locking the water mouth”. A market place would grow into town and eventually, city. FengShui theories state, Heaven bestow; Earth receive. The source, stream and the water mouth are the “Blood Vein” of the land. The idea of a “Dragon” is referred to this “blood vein”. Whenever it is locked, a meridian will form. This place will prosper. Every Prosperity is not perpetual. The theory specify a cycle of JiaZi – a Yuan 元, where the 3 Cycles 9 Periods 三元九運 are derived. To be perpetual, the key is in – reactivation, similar to the application of BaZhai 八宅. The true application of ZhenShen 正神. LingShen 零神. ZhaoShen 照神, are water mouth dependent. LoShu establish Direct Indirect 雒書定零正 already tell you this. LoShu 雒書 is the General Principle of the movements of Rivers. Again - such opens up to another argument called - the Dynamic Plate of ZhenShen 正神. LingShen 零神. This will be yet another story for another time. OLD SPIRITS TASTE GOOD...The Spirits Of Mutiara Damansara & Mount Kiara - 29112009 The way the landforms are being crafted with roads, by the days, is astonishing. Where there are roads, there are opportunities. Similarly with the notion of Ling and Zhen Shen or Direct and Indirect Spirit. Very much useful for site selection and to know when a site selected will actually boom. The following tales may knock some sense out of these spirits: - Prior to 2000, an area known as Kota Damansara was actually called Sungai Buloh. Not a Soul would want to live at this area. Post 2004, saw a mega make over with the enclave of what is now known as Mutiara Damansara. This very location is a sunken landforms embraced by the incoming mountains originated all the ways from Rawang. This location is currently enjoying the boom that the period 8 has brought in exactly at the Southwest location of Kun. Similarly, on the reverse side of the embrace, an area part of Mount Kiara witnessed the rises of the residential towers, so cluttered, it becomes the so called Direct Spirit. The location is Northeast, Gen. Not so much of commercialization activities at this very location as it is the fringe development radiated from the Mount Kiara town center. This very case demonstrated that when period 8 comes in, Gen (Northeast) location is being too Yang, it cannot see water. What does it means as being too Yang? Seeing water means really seeing physical water? So this Yang location is called Direct spirit of period 8. Opposite of period 8 is the Indirect spirit in the Kun (Southwest) location. Being too Yin, it must see water. Yet there is no physical water in Mutiara Damansara! And it is booming by the days. Why? We have a series of mountain that virtually separate these two locations, not otherwise the highway called Penchala Link would not need to go through the tunnel to link the other sides. As the case demonstrated, where is the location of the center 5? Is there a smaller TaiQi within the larger one? Or a larger TaiQi within a smaller one? Is the water mouth for both areas are locked? Which area is conforming to the direct and indirect spirit and which area are not? So, instead of putting the spirit in the bottle and be drunken for the whole days, lets keep sober and see things through a different lens. Perhaps we may spot on the spirits one day! The Question Of Subtleties - 25112009In view that SanYuan rested on timing. YinYang Qi map is the fundamental of where to locate water and where to locate mountain. All this is term direct and indirect spirit, LingZhen. 2 cycles 8 periods referred to the Heaven Qi. There are only upper and lower cycles. Upper cycle governs period 1, 2, 3 and 4. Lower cycle governs period 6, 7, 8 and 9. There is no period 5. In the 2 cycles 8 periods, each period governs an unequal number of years. Each Yang Yao within the ruling Gua governs 6 years and the Yin Yao within the ruling Gua governs 9 years. For example in the upper cycle of period 1, the governing Gua is Kan Gua. Kan Gua has 2 Yin Yao and 1 Yang Yao. Therefore, the period 1 will last for 24 years. The absent of period 5 is called the invincible period. It is the igniting element that will propel the cure throughout the 180 years and therefore are known as The SanYuan BuBai. So highly mysterious that it is also annexed to the method of XieZi. On the other hand, XuanKong DaGua (XKDG) is annexed to the 2 cycles 8 period principle. It is therefore, a Heaven Qi manipulation method befitted as a date selection technique. Whereas, 3 cycles 9 periods referred to Earth Qi. There are Upper, Middle and Lower Cycles. Upper cycle governs period 1, 2 and 3. Middle cycle governs 4, 5 and 6. Lower cycle governs 7, 8 and 9. Each period governs an equal 20 years. Thus, a cycle consists of 60 years. One postulation suggests that 5 yellow exist in earth Qi because the 5 yellow is the center of the earth with the operative method rested on AiXing, Leaning Star with the quest to move the center of the Earth in sync with the Heaven Qi. The Purple White Script, ZiBai Jue, is one of the fragments dislocated from the entire body of knowledge within this SanYuan framework. Similarly so with XuanKong FeiXing (Flying Star), BaZhai (8 Mansions) and LongMen BaDa Ju (Dragon Gate 8 Formations), are just subsets of the entire framework. If the theory of as above so below is valid, then the reflections of the landforms must correspond to the asterism as above. It must works in both ways. This is to inform that by plainly accepting XKDG as a date selection without looking the actual star that present and the governing Qi respectively, SanYuan portal will not be opened. This is where results are inconsistent as sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. When we stacked the multi layers of SanYuan AiXing against the dimension of time with the arrangement of the doors, what is present to us is a stacking of multi-dimensional model, where stars lean against one another locking and unlocking the multi dimensional portals. Is this mysterious subtleties? Why My Spirits Cannot Work - 30062010We came across the term – TaiJi spot. Others called it by many names such as Heaven’s Heart, center of the TaiJi or simply the threshold of Yin and Yang. By 2024, the so called arrival of Period – 9 of Later Heaven Li Gua 後天離卦 based on the 3 Cycles 9 Periods 三元九運, the Later Heaven Li Gua 先天離卦 denotes – Fire, Early Heaven Qian Gua 先天乾卦 denotes – Heaven. Heaven Gua always come before Earth Gua, therefore we derived Qian ☰ above Li ☲, TongRen Gua 同人卦 - Fire burning Heavenly Gates 火烧天门? THE SANYUAN 三元 ERYUAN 二元 DICHOTOMYThis dichotomy between both schools, use to fuel the major debates in Chinese Metaphysics forum as the attitude of, “I am holier than thou…” is always apparent and it usually resulted in a not so gentleman or many times brutal outcomes. We can come to a compromise that both SanYuan 三元 and ErYuan 二元 schools are valid and in fact, both are subsets of one another. They are the different sides of the same coin where ErYuan 二元 measures the Heaven Qi and SanYuan 三元 measures the Earth Qi. Imagine that both are wheels with gears of different demarcation. As the wheels turn, at some points, both SanYuan 三元 and ErYuan 二元 must meet. Apparently, the Early Heaven 先天 sets the motion and Later Heaven 後天 sets its ending… to be “reborn” again in another period to come, ad-infinitum. This is the natural order… In such similar reflection, do you know as to why your SanYuan 三元 FengShui method sometimes work, sometimes cannot work? Why your XuanKong FeiXing 玄空飞星 cannot work as well as some XuanKong LiuFa 玄空六法 method? The answer is probably you still live in the wrong era… GARNISHING A STALE PLATE OF PERIOD 8...Investigating The Effect Of Flying Star In Changing Into Period 8 - 08122009In the Blog Entry, more con-sult-ant in the makings, “…I was call to go down South to rescue another screwed up job. These I do not have an answer. I do know however that, the working of the period is in place. First of all, the solar Xia calendar has been the source of reference for metaphysics since time immemorial. YuanKong, however follows its own point of reference, the purple white. The script says: - “ With the period master, It is the three cycle and 6 JIA. 6 JIA may be the same, but the flying palace in the three Yuan can be different, Same goes to the Na Yin in the Centre Palace.” Knowing this one will understand the working of the period, Yun. Good hunting! The art of BaZi reading has many layers. Besides the ZiPing 子平 method, later scholars came out with many ways to read a chart. There are in the market today, not less than 10 methods 十推论 could be identified such as;
Each variant has its own strength and weaknesses. These weaknesses are basically, things that are not disclosed to the public and were kept as lineage secrets. Therefore, a lot of the stuff that are served today, are by itself, incomplete. Many conceals these shortcomings by reinventing the wheel and as a result, there are more than one method to read a BaZi chart and the most intriguing thing is that most who had learnt these stuff eventually liked a Mixed-Martial Artist MMA, combined them all and used them simultaneously overlapping one another. Nothing wrong with that. However, you may come across, from time to time, there are people bold enough to say, “There is no such thing as weak and strong chart in Bazi… Most importantly there is no such thing as positive and negative stars.” Statement like these will cast doubt onto others especially those who has just spent a fortune learning BaZi, the Strong and Weak Method 强弱 way… IN THE BEGINNING… Determining the strength 强弱 of the Day Stem is very important. Without this, identification of Favourable and Unfavourable Gods 吉忌神 would be close to impossible. With the failure of identifying the Favourable and Unfavourable Gods 吉忌神, locating the Useful God 用神 would be futile. Therefore a foundation study of BaZi would be structured as the followings: -
;These 4 steps are crucial. However, step 4 - Locating the Useful God 用神. Useful God 用神 has its own Failure and Success. This is attributed by the ‘health’ of the Useful God 用神 itself in relation to the season the Day Stem was born and the remedy for its failure are further defined as the following techniques: - 1. Moderating 扶抑 2. Arbitrating 通關 3. Regulating or Temperature Adjustment 調候 4. Medicating 病藥 5. Dominant 專旺 The last and most crucial part of reading the BaZi is what is known as Event Reading. Some called it Qi Dynamics but generally it is related to; 1. Stillness and Movement 动静 2. Star and Palace Interplay 星宫 3. Inter-Intra Palace (Shifting Palace) 移宫 However, when contemplating step 4 - Locating the Useful God 用神, some scholars formulate other fringe techniques to make step 2 - Determining the Strength and step 3 - 强弱Identification of Favourable and Unfavourable Gods 吉忌神 rather obsolete. They base their findings largely from this 2 classics namely;
QIONGTONG BAOJIAN 穷通宝鉴This classic gave another approach to ZiPing 子平 by introducing a technique called Temperature Adjustment - 调候. Besides the 10 stems, balancing the 5 elements is essential. This classic introduces the consideration to Regulate the Useful God 调用神 by adjusting the temperature of the 5 elements. The coldness 冷, warmness 暖, wetness 湿 and dryness 燥 affects the balance of the 5 elements. For example, dry earth cannot produce metal. Wet wood will not fuel fire. When the Day Stem日主 is too cold or dry, it is difficult for that element to survive or simply function. These coldness 冷, warmness 暖, wetness 湿 and dryness 燥 are dependent on the 10 stems born in different seasonal Qi. The month branch affects the survival of the Day Stem 日主. As a result, we are able to discard the strength of the Day Stem 日主 and move quickly into evaluating the quality of the Day Stem 日主 itself. There is no longer the problem of weak… but not too weak, strong… but not too strong. There is only the chart is either too cold or too warm, too dry or too wet. How beautiful… and there is a shortcut to these. Whenever you see this Day Stem 日主 as the followings, the elements that adjust its temperature must present itself in the stems not otherwise it is rendered inferior; 甲: 丁+庚 乙: 丙+癸 丙: 壬+辛 丁: 甲+庚 戊: 甲+壬 己: 丙+甲+癸 庚: 甲+丁 辛: 壬+己 壬: 丙+辛 癸: 壬+丙 Caveat, the crust of the theories are deeper than these short-cuts, please take note… We just simplified it for casual discussion. Eventually, what the Day Stem 日主, likes and dislikes constitute how to adjust the temperature 调候 of the useful gods 用神. When the Day Stem 日主 is too cold 冷, it requires to be kept warm 暖. When the Day Stem 日主 is too warm 暖, it requires to be kept cold 冷. When the Day Stem 日主 is too dry 燥, it requires to be kept wet 湿. When the Day Stem 日主 is too wet 湿, it requires to be kept dry 燥. These coldness 冷, warmness 暖, wetness 湿 and dryness 燥 are the Useful God 用神. Here you don’t particularly need to distil your favourable god 吉神 and unfavourable god 凶神. As this technique has already been made available in the internet, largely used by most schools, there is no reason as to why it should be kept as a secret. DI TIAN SUI 滴天髄Nicked name the Heavenly Marrow Distillation, this classic brought about the notion of 理氣象, typically SanYuan 三元 approach to BaZi. The Ten Stem 十干 is now visualized as an imagery or pictorial – Xiang 象, the Ten Gods 十神 – Qi 氣 and the interactions – Li 理. The crux of this technique require first to visualize to 10 stems 十干 in pictorial form with its characteristic such as; 甲: A Big Tree with Huge Canopy and Deep Rooted. 乙: A Creeper Shrub that climb with high tendency to grow. 丙: The Sun parallel to no others with Rays and Warmth the Grow. 丁: A Candle wick Fire that has the tendency to Burn everything to Dust. 戊: An Immovable Huge Mountain overlooking others. 己: Soft Mud highly Organic capable to Grow anything. 庚: An Axe toughen and Baptised by Fire. 辛: A Jewellery so Shining and Bright as the Stars in the Skies. 壬: An Ocean without boundaries but a Horizon where all Water Returns. 癸: A Mist that Float and Filled the air without Form, Shape and Smell. When combined with the 12 Earthly Branches will give you a matrix of 60 JiaZi, with each JiaZi 甲子 has its very own Imagery. For example; JiaZi 甲子 is a Withering Tree growing at the riverbank. First understand the supporting earth and its foundation as a Big Tree require a good soil for its root to penetrate and hold onto. Secondly study the Stem in order to determine the structure. Should there be Wu 午 clashing the root, this person is unlucky. In other words, Jia 甲 wood sitting on Gui 癸 water, the main Qi of Zi 子. Gui 癸 is the Direct Resource 正印 to Jia甲. Jia 甲 represents Growth, as a tree grow upward. A Jia 甲 Day Stem person has a tendency to pursue growth. These people are survival as long as resource 印 is available. Gui 癸 water also represent wisdom and Direct Resource 正印 means knowledgeable. This person is well educated and they have sheer fighting power and perseverance to wait for an opportunity to grow. Jia 甲 wood is a lone tree that require space to grow. So they are naturally bone loner. When countered with negative Direct Resource 正印, they could be jealous and intellectually combative. Such isolation reflects on their cold shoulder appearances. This JiaZi 甲子 favour Bing 丙, the Eating God 食神, as the Sun with Rays and Warmth present it to Grow. Points to note - the tree is just a metaphor. One needs to think further to grab the real meaning behind the picture. Jia甲 wood embodies the idea of ‘growth’. It is about production and progress, starting of a journey or a cycle, etc. Regrettably, the ‘literal meaning’ has been taken out of context resulting in people having wear green, or plant big trees in their residence as a Medicating 病藥 technique. This concept has been taken out of context. Also this technique of reading Pillar 柱 to Pillar 柱 eliminates the necessities to step 1 - Determining the Strength 强弱 and step 2 - Identification of Favourable and Unfavourable Gods 吉忌神. This technique also has the ability to read a Single Pillar to determine auspicious or otherwise 一柱定吉凶. CRITICISM Imagery method may look convenient but image can be deceiving… What look like a tree to you may look like a spinach to me… the way these 2 classics had been interpreted has absolutely deviated from the truth, for example; “甲木,参天” or “甲,木参天?” The former is Jia Wood while the latter is Jia, as in item (1), then wood grows upward… remember that classical Chinese has no annotation whatsoever… The truth, Jia甲 wood is NO TREE… Yi乙 wood is NO CREEPER SHRUB… Bing丙 fire is NO SUN… The YinYang 陰陽 understanding of the elements are all WRONG! Saying that, we should leave it for another day. OLD CRAPS NEW LOOK...Pictorial Reading - 17062010Has not been updating this BaZi blog lately, just for a start let us warm up by introducing to you another way of reading BaZi in a pictorial manner, by using the above lady’s chart – career woman. We all know too well that this lady is a Wu person sitting on Zi water. What sort of imagery, Xiang, would WuZi bring to you? Ice capped mountain or mountain hidden by clouds? Is this a beautiful mountain? That tells you how beautiful are this person. The solid water pillar, we nicknamed it as stubborn pillar, also paints you another side of her story in relation to the hour pillar, among others representing her career palace. How do you think she strive in her career?
Ask yourself, what is the useful god (UG) for a Wu earth mountain, so solidify, so stubborn, so hard and too trustworthy? Hardened soil needs to be loosened. In this case Jia or Yi wood? What quality of Jia found in the month stem? Skinny tree or rain forest tree? Rooted in Mao, injured by Xin (pen knife) and not clashed by Geng (axe), what does it means? The tree is still alive, not seen to be growing upward, but has deep penetrating roots among others signify what? That paints the imagery of her superior, quite robust outlook with a very good PR intrinsically – another form of extrapolation? So, her useful god is usable but the question is she doesn’t know how to use it to her advantage. Using the 10 gods, Jia among others is her superior. Xin is her action. When Xin is countering Jia, her useful god is countered, meaning that her actions displeased her superior in what degree? Her actions, if it is unmonitored, will brings her more harm in a long run, as Xin is sited on Mao, penknife cutting twig? This means to say, her opportunity to establish networking with others through her superior may be hampered, thus rendering her useful god weakened. So, the real useful god has been shifted from authority to her output. The next question is, would she able to control her action? That depends on how wisely she would think – resource. Wu Mountain is best at keeping things and that includes her action? The more resource she has, how she may becomes? However, in her case, the action is revealed! So how good may she control her action, especially when provoked? Would it last as it has no root? She has the tendency to blunder in the month/year of what? So, burying her action is also important, her useful god has been shifted to resource and self. Her actions produce her solid wealth, water as seen in the career palace. Wu and Gui tendency to combine but not transform, indicating her career mindedness. What sort of quality water does GuiHai represent? The imagery of GuiHai is liked a clouded sky above the still lake. That is a beautiful version! The ugly version is a huge storm in the middle of the cold sea – inhumane! Water wants to be untainted, sentimental and contained. With the tendency to combine but cannot transform and with overabundant of water, will this uproot the Jia and break the Wu? How beautiful is this water? So, has she, the tendency to be superstitious and depressed especially related to her career and in the process affecting her resource, thinking and decision? Is she prone to make the wrong decision in relating to her career which will ultimately make her lose money, in the short run? Now, coming back to WuZi, the misty mountain, would the already clouded mountain wished to be clouded further? You have the answer. In this attempt, there is no tendency to look into the strength of chart. All that is matter is the quality of the elements that present itself as the 10 gods with reference to the self. It is all pictorial; to see what the elements needs most as its useful gods and hate most as its unusable gods, thus using one to arbitrate the others (Thong Guan). Even all the elements are usable. |
