This paper continues to examine the employment of QiMen 奇門 in the interpretation of the 60 Obscure Heaven Gua 渾天卦. The YangGong New Method School XinFa 新法 has given us a new perspective as to how pre-SanYuan theories had included QiMen 奇門 into the equation and making them as complicated as “Rocket Sciences” of their era. Apparently this tapestry makes the core knowledge of YangGong method into disarray and somehow lacked the simplicity and originality of the YangGong old method 古法派. It has given such an obscure aftertaste as though YangGong, himself is not able to consolidate the art and science of FengShui, but to adopt whole heartedly, the full bloom methods of his time - QiMen 奇門 into his formulation. While investigating this matter, the author strongly believed that such inclusions may have been done by others, not having the entire knowledge of the true genuine YangGong methods and trying their very best to make up for the lack of knowledge into a collective whole now called - The YangGong New Method School, XinFa 新法. Continue from the following 6 articles: - 祿馬貴人 - SALARIED HORSE NOBLEMEN 六甲飛宫 - THE FLYING PALACES OF THE 6 KNIGHTS 三元三般卦 - ENCOUNTER OF THE 3RD KINDS OF GUA 三元龍虎門 - SANYUAN DRAGON TIGER DOOR 紅鸞水法 - HONGLUAN WATER METHOD 穿山透地 - PENETRATING TIGER AND RESURFACING DRAGON We were made to aware of a Poem by Zhang JiuYi 张九仪, that summarized the entire knowledge of The YangGong New Method School, XinFa 新法. Next, we would be surprised by the fact that there are more than one way to arrange the JiaZi, called – HongLuan JiaZi 紅鸞甲子. Not only that, we also learnt where SanYuan people adopted the earliest known 60 Hexagrams into their DaGua Plate 大卦盤 through the now extinct LianShan 連山, GuiChang 歸藏, ZhouYi 周易 to come out with HunTian 渾天 Gua卦. It is also from here, that we learnt as to how the pre-SanYuan people adopted the SanBan Gua techniques 卦取三般. More importantly how these people analyse the SanBan Gua 三般卦 through the lenses of Obscure Heaven NaJia 渾天納甲. This, unfortunately is not simple, but the “rocket sciences” of the day that include QiMen 奇門 – as in the Three Mysterious 三奇 and the Four Auspicious 四吉. THE THREE MYSTERIOUS AND FOUR AUSPICIOUS 三奇四吉This term is not unusual for the field of QiMen 奇門 but is highly unusual in the field of YangGong FengShui. In QiMen 奇門 the Three Mysterious 三奇 is referring to Yi乙, Bing丙 and Ding丁. These 3 stems are the imperial families of Jia甲, the emperor. Yi乙 is the sister of Jia. Bing丙 is the Prince to Jia甲 and Ding丁 is the Princess to Jia甲. Collectively these 3 stems are the known as the Three Mysterious 三奇. When the Three Mysterious 三奇 are present, the outcome of the particular palace is known to be auspicious. Even in the face of a Killing Qi, its effect will be neutralized. The Four Auspicious 四吉 is not unusual for the field of QiMen 奇門 as it refers to the 8 Doors. 4 of these doors are auspicious such as Rest休, Life生, Open開 and Harm傷. When the Four Auspicious 四吉 are present, the outcome of the particular palace for human factors are auspicious. LOCATING THE THREE MYSTERIOUS 三奇 Based on the same chart called 6Jia Streams Establishing FuTou 六甲旬符頭, for every 6Jia Streams 六甲旬, there is a stem that Jia (the Emperor) would hide itself in. This is called DunJia 遁甲, Hiding the Jia甲. These Stems (being the Generals), where the Jia甲 would hide itself, is called XunShou 旬首. There are 6 XunShou 旬首. ESTABLISHING THE EARTH PLATE 地盤Take this Obscure Heaven 60D 渾天60龍 as an example… This 60D BingZi has given this Wind over Water, Kun 困 Hexagram - Trap. BingZi found itself within Great Snow 大雪 of the 24 JieQi 節氣, Middle Hou 中候, YinDun 陰遁 – reverse order, taking Ju7 七局 – where the following FuTou 符頭 is JiaXu stream starts from Dui the order of Wu戊, Ji己, Geng庚, Xin辛, Ren壬, Gui癸, Ding丁, Bing丙, Yi乙 in the reverse order. As a result, you will obtain the Earth Plate. ESTABLISHING THE HEAVEN PLATE 天盤From the Earth Plate, locate XunShou旬首 for JiaXu stream is Ji己 and it is located at Qian palace. Replace Wu戊 in Dui palace with XunShou旬首 - Ji己 and rotate accordingly. As a result, you will obtain Heaven Plate. The Three Mysterious 三奇 are located as the followings: -
LOCATING THE FOUR AUSPICIOUS 四吉 Before one can locate the Four Auspicious 四吉 Door, one has to locate the Lead Star that is also known as the Purple Star 紫星. In QiMen 奇門, it is known that the Star 星 gives power to the Door 門. The Purple Star 紫星 is located at XunShou旬首 - Ji己 Earth Plate Qian Palace (6). Replace the star #6, which is the Purple Star 紫星, into the Dui palace and rotate accordingly. As the Purple Star 紫星 empowers the Door 門, the Open Door 開 now becomes the Lead Door also known as the Purple Door 紫門. Replace the Open Door 開 - Purple Door 紫門 into the Dui Palace and rotate accordingly… As a result, the Four Auspicious 四吉 Door are located as the followings: -
CONCLUSIONThis is the FIRST TIME, QiMen FengShui has been disclosed in this manner. In the common technique of QiMen for FengShui, especially so from the Money squeezing Academy of Chinese metaphysics (MsAocm), QiMen FengShui is mainly used for Remote Sensing, whereby a QiMen chart is open and a prediction is made based on the ingredients of the chart to say: -
Further to that, SanYuan QiMen DunJia 三元奇門遁甲 may extend its application to SanYuan YuanKong DaGua 三元元空大卦, forming the mouthful SanYuan XianTian YuanKong DaGua QiMen DunJia 三元先天元空大卦奇門遁甲, another subject offered for sale by the legendary Money squeezing Academy of Chinese metaphysics (MsAocm). It was also believed that this secret techniques mirrored the legendary grand-master Zeng ZiNan's 曾子南 XieZi Fa 些子法 (Details read HERE). In one of the Money squeezing Academy of Chinese metaphysics (MsAocm) master trainer's own words, he cannot reconcile the application of SanYuan YuanKong DaGua 三元元空大卦 until his late master Chen BeiSheng 陈倍生 disclosed to him the simultaneous application of SanYuan QiMen DunJia 三元奇門遁甲. From this point onward, it is obvious that the pre-SanYuan XianTian YuanKong DaGua QiMen DunJia 三元先天元空大卦奇門遁甲 has its root from the HunTian Gua 渾天卦 application, where the 60 Obscure Heaven Gua 渾天 卦 are preset with the Static QiMen Plate 奇門盤. This paper continues to examine the purpose of employing the techniques of the Six Jia Flying Palaces 六甲飛宫, not only to obtain the Son Father Wealth and Officer 子父財官 positions, but to identify the palaces of Salaried (Officer) + (Speedy) Horse + Noblemen 祿馬貴人 positions. Generally, identifying such would enable one to acquire wealth 財 through high positions or nobility of being an Officer 官. As it goes, pre-SanYuan adopting Gods and Killing Methodology 神殺 in judging the embrace 論砂, meaning if there is any significant mountain peaks at the location of Salaried Horse Noblemen 祿馬貴人, it is deemed to have fulfilled such conditions. Gods and Killing Methodology 神殺 are astrologically biased. Continue from the following 5 articles: - 六甲飛宫 - THE FLYING PALACES OF THE 6 KNIGHTS 三元三般卦 - ENCOUNTER OF THE 3RD KINDS OF GUA 三元龍虎門 - SANYUAN DRAGON TIGER DOOR 紅鸞水法 - HONGLUAN WATER METHOD 穿山透地 - PENETRATING TIGER AND RESURFACING DRAGON Salaried Horse Nobility 祿馬貴 comprises of embrace assessment 論砂 to identify: -
As you can see, there are 3 factors to make this happened.
In other words, there are at least 3 standalone techniques to calculate this… SALARIED OFFICER 官祿
Fine observation revealed that Salary is annexed to the Stem’s 12 growth phases of Officer 官. In other words, one has to locate the Officer 官 palace of any given formation, to locate the “Salaried Officer” 官祿. URGING HORSE 驛馬
Fine observation revealed that Horse is annexed to the Stem’s 12 growth phases of Sickness 病. In olden times, when in sickness one has to take a speedy Horse to call for help. In other words, one has to locate the Sickness 病 palace of any given formation, to locate the “Urging Horse” 驛馬. NOBLEMAN 貴人There are a number of Noblemen… namely, YinYang Noblemen 陰陽貴人 and TianYi Noblemen 天乙貴人. For TianYi Noblemen 天乙貴人, please read HERE… while YinYang Noblemen is as the followings: -
LOCATING SALARIED HORSE NOBLEMEN 祿馬貴… Continue from our previous example of Wind over Water, Kun 困 Hexagram – Trap. BingZi 60D found itself within Great Snow 大雪 of the 24 JieQi 節氣, Middle Hou 中候, YinDun 陰遁 – reverse order, taking Ju7 七局. Based on the 60D BingZi: -
Locate from the 6 Yao Technique 用爻法 the location of the Salaried Horse Nobility 祿馬貴 respectively… from the same example, you will obtain: -
Mapping against the QiMen Flying Palaces 飛宫奇門, you will find that Both Horse 馬 and Noblemen 貴 is in Kun Palace (2), while the formation does not contain the Salaried Officer 祿. It simply means to say, this 60D do not bring about WEALTH factor for its later generation... What a MISS! CONCLUSIONAll these “rocket sciences” ultimately narrowed down a technique called – 1080 Lines Method 線法. Some believed that this is a long lost method of the final rim within the SanHe LuoPan. Other dismissed it as simply – Pure Nonsense. It is within 0.33 degree accuracy. Before we narrow down our exploration down this path, let us also investigate what is probably known as the 3 Mysterious and the 4 Auspicious 三奇四吉. That will be another story for another time. Note: Please take note that the above said illustration is only one example adopted by ONE school. We do not recommend the use of the above said techniques due to many faults. This paper continues to single out the analysis of the Obscure Heaven 60D as a continuous examination of the use of the 3 sets of Earth Penetrating Dragon, hereinafter called the equal division 60D. XinFa 新法 continues to surprise us with many pre-SanYuan theories that may not have been widely known before to the mainstreams. In this instances, we are able to see how the SanYuan proponent actually adopted the 3 kinds of Gua 三般卦 into its SanYuan DaGua methodology. They singularly distilled the Obscure Heaven 60D as the pre-cursor to the currently known SanYuan DaGua Heaven Plate. Even more surprising, SanYuan DaGua actually adopted the Yao Application Methodology 用爻法 as their analysis of the 5 relationships. Continue from the following 4 articles: - 三元三般卦 - ENCOUNTER OF THE 3RD KINDS OF GUA 三元龍虎門 - SANYUAN DRAGON TIGER DOOR 紅鸞水法 - HONGLUAN WATER METHOD 穿山透地 - PENETRATING TIGER AND RESURFACING DRAGON This article will continue to disclose the intimate secrets of the Yao Method 爻法 to eventually link SanYuan to GuSanShi 古三式, or the ancient Three Styles of DunJia 遁甲, TaiYi 太乙 and LiuRen 六壬. Collectively, these GuSanShi 古三式 are also called QiMen SanShi 奇門三式. The root of SanYuan vested in QiMen. The root of QiMen vested in the Calendric Systems. The Calendric Systems are the forerunner of how Qi spirals through the LoShu giving birth to the forerunner of SanYuan Flying Stars called – The Six Jia Flying Palaces 六甲飛宫. In ancient time, the term Flying Palaces 飛宫 means Flying Star. 6 JIA FLYING PALACES 六甲飛宫The analysis of Obscure Heaven NaJia 渾天納甲, Yao Application Methodology 用爻法 is also sometimes called the 5 Relationship Analysis 五亲 to identify the locations of Child 子, Father 父, Wealth 財 and Officer 官. Unlike the normal 6Yao Divination techniques, the Self is not referred to as it is related to the deceased. Take this Obscure Heaven 60D 渾天60龍 as an example… This 60D BingZi has given this Wind over Water, Kun 困 Hexagram - Trap. By virtue of Obscure Heaven NaJia 渾天納甲, we obtained: - Child 子 is in 4th Yao Father 父 is in 2nd and 6th Yao Wealth 財 is in 1st Yao Officer 官 in 3rd Yao All these 5 Relations 五亲 are presence in this example. This Hexagram conforms to bring tidings to Resources and Descendent Luck, Wealth and Officer Relationships. The question now is which are the sectors that will bring GOOD TIDINGS? The 6 Yao Method 六爻法 is supposed to have its own way to insert the “directional factors” into the equation by adopting the 4 Heraldic Beasts Methodology 四象法. However this is not the case… Instead, it opted for QiMen 奇門… giving hint the possibility that the 6 Yao’s 6 Heraldic Beasts Method 六爻六象法 is a later modification or invention derived from QiMen 奇門. SANYUAN QIMEN 三元奇門 QiMen 奇門, being one of the oldest art forms are the mother of SanYuan 三元. The entire framework of SanYuan 三元 is built upon the foundation of QiMen 奇門 via a perpetual set of clockworks that closely knitted to the calendric system. To further understand such, you ought to know these fundamentals such as JieQi 節氣, Hou 候, Dun 遁 and Ju 局. The 60D 60龍, having 6 of its pair receiving additional 2 Hou 候 will give a total of 72 Hou 候 of the 24 JieQi 節氣 or Seasonal Node. From these 24 seasonal nodes, the first half are Yang Dun 遁 and the second half are Yin Dun 遁. This YinYang threshold is a border that will cut through the winter 冬至 and the summer solstices 夏至. The Dun 遁 will decides how Qi would dance to the comic music… and as a results, a recognisable patterns that repeats and mirrors itself called Formation Ju 局 are created. These Formation Ju 局 are the indexes of which a QiMen 奇門 plate will be constructed. DIFFERENT SCHOOLS DIFFERENT STROKES. Not all schools agree on the followings: -
For the ease of discussion, we had appended herewith a schedule for discussion only. We, personally don’t quite buy this “shit”. LOCATING THE 6 JIA LEAD 六甲旬符頭In SanYuan 三元 the 60 JiaZi are generally grouped into Streams 旬 of 6, being each controlling 10 JiaZi. Therefore the lead stem or FuTou 符頭 are the 6Jia 六甲, leaders of the streams. In this exercise, one ought to locate the leaders of every Yao’s JiaZi. This will determine where the starting point of every 6Jia 六甲 is, in the next episode… … Continue from the same example, we obtained: - Child 子 is in 4th Yao – DingHai FuTou 符頭 in JiaShen Father 父 is in 2nd – WuChen FuTou 符頭 in JiaZi and 6th Yao – DingWei FuTou 符頭 in JiaChen Wealth 財 is in 1st Yao – WuYin FuTou 符頭 in JiaXu Officer 官 in 3rd Yao – WuWu FuTou 符頭 in JiaYin STARTING THE FLIGHT 符頭定宮法BingZi 60D found itself within Great Snow 大雪 of the 24 JieQi 節氣, Middle Hou 中候, YinDun 陰遁 – reverse order, taking Ju7 七局 – where the following FuTou 符頭 will starts from these palaces: -
TAKING THE FLIGHT 符頭推卦Array the subsequent JiaZi accordingly and the following results will be obtained: - Child 子 is in 4th Yao – DingHai FuTou 符頭 in JiaShen: Kun Palace (2). Father 父 is in 2nd – WuChen FuTou 符頭 in JiaZi: Zhen Palace (3) and 6th Yao – DingWei FuTou 符頭 in JiaChen: Li Palace (9). Wealth 財 is in 1st Yao – WuYin FuTou 符頭 in JiaXu: Kun Palace (2). Officer 官 in 3rd Yao – WuWu FuTou 符頭 in JiaYin: Dui Palace (7). CONCLUSIONIt becomes obvious that the “Rocket Science” of the day, is to eventually complicate the reading of the Yao 爻法 into Flying Palaces QiMen 飛宫奇門. This may also be the reason how SanYuan proponent improvise such into creating their very own Yao analysis based on 定爻法 Fixed Yao method, 飛爻法 Flying Yao method and 抽爻換象 Flipping Yao to change the imagery method [Details read HERE]. They cannot just exist out of thin air, right? Locating Father, Son, Wealth and Officer locations are to enable one to further identify another sets of “Jewels” or “Treasure Box” known in FengShui jargon as Salaried Horse Nobleman 祿馬貴. That shall be another story for another day… Note: Please take note that the above said illustration is only one example adopted by ONE school. We do not recommend the use of the above said techniques due to many faults. Kindly enroll into our academy if you want to learn more, otherwise just take it as information only... Reader's discretion is highly recommended. This paper attempt to examine the “birth” of SanYuan. It is a common understanding that SanYuan is the offspring of SanHe but very little is known of the bridge of how SanYuan is born out of SanHe. Both mainstream schools share closely knitted fundamentals where the 60 JiaZi, notably the hallmark of SanHe, at one point became the 64 Gua, the hallmark of SanYuan. Historically speaking, YangGong, being the forefather of KanYu only has one school. As time passes by, schism arises and this One School is separated into GuFa Pai 古法派 or Old School and XingFa Pai 新法派 or New School. Unlike the former, the later has been generally known as SanHe. This later school includes many other forms of techniques and methodologies not found in GuFa 古法 to a degree it is so confusing and complicated that a new form of KanYu is consolidated, not invented, and was branded as SanYuan, predominantly the birth of the 64 DaGua Ring 大卦盤. Looking at the revival of XingFa 新法 predominantly practice in HongKong, the use of 72 Penetrating Mountain Dragon 穿山龍 and 60 Penetrating Earth Dragon 透地龍 are at large. Some XingFa 新法 school notably the Liu JiangDong sect adopted technical jargons that are unique and seldom heard of before. A glossary of terminologies are as the followings: - 1. 6 Yao NaJia 六爻纳甲 is Obscure Heaven NaJia 渾天纳甲 2. Penetrating Mountain Dragon 穿山龍 is Penetrating Mountain Tiger 穿山虎 3. Principal Gua 本卦 is Obscure Heaven Gua 渾天卦 4. LuoPan 羅盤 is Precious Mirror 寶鏡 Many modern academies especially one in Bolehland called, the Money squeezing Academy of Chinese metaphysics (MsAocm) cannot reconcile the theories and application behind the 60 Penetrating Earth Dragon 透地龍. It just show that the level of FengShui understanding of the “Master Trainer” is so much inferior when he attempted to bluff his way through module – 03, teaching this specific methodology. In essence, besides examining the “birth” of SanYuan in a larger context, this paper for the first time and in a narrower context, discloses the intricate work of Penetrating Earth Dragon 透地龍 and its relation to the 60 Obscure Heaven Gua 渾天卦 in English. Continue from these two writings: - 穿山透地 - PENETRATING TIGER AND RESURFACING DRAGON 紅鸞水法 - HONGLUAN WATER METHOD We have to revisit the poem by Zhang JiuYi 張九儀 as such: -
Contemplate this - First observe penetrating mountain tiger, Directional moving earth surfacing dragon… New Method 新法 termed the commonly called Penetrating Mountain Dragon 穿山龍 as Penetrating Tiger 穿山虎. This is an attempt to differentiate between Penetrating Mountain Tiger 穿山虎 and Penetrating Earth Dragon 透地龍. The terms – Dragon 龍 and Tiger 虎 have to be used in pair. That is why it is said that first, use the Penetrating Mountain Tiger 穿山虎 to determine the True Incoming Dragon 真龍入首. Then, to seek out the true Vein 龍脉 use Penetrating Earth Dragon 透地龍. Dragon 龍 and Tiger 虎 have to mutually match just like the spirit 魂 and the soul 魄. These relationships between the Dragon 龍 and the Tiger 虎 are based on the 5 NaYin elemental interplay 納音五行生克. Honestly speaking, it sounds fantastic in theory but faulty in application, especially in YangZhai 陽宅. To say, it is applicable in YinZhai 陰宅, is also very force fitting. The operative word, is this term - true vein 龍脉, what does it actually measure and how do you measure in YangZhai 陽宅 condominium? Complications come in the following passage - Obscure Heaven opens the precious mirror 渾天開寶鏡. Precious Mirror 寶鏡 is a term, New Method 新法 use to mean – the LuoPan 羅盤 (Gosh, can’t they think of something simpler?). Obscure Heaven 渾天, on another hand, is something even more complex… First, it refers to its connection with the entire 24 JieQi 二十四節氣. 1. Penetrating Earth Dragon 透地龍 comprises of 30 pairs of JiaZi 甲子. 2. Each JiaZi 甲子 supposing, controls 1 Hou 候. 3. However, there are 6 pairs controlling 2 Hou 候 each. 4. Thus, made up the entire 72 Hou 候 of the 24 JieQi 二十四節氣. That is where the 60 Dragon 龍 has a closely knitted connection with the 72 Tiger 虎 through these 72 Hou 候. Second, it refers to its connection with the Hexagram to form the 60 Principle Gua 本卦. As a result, there are 4 rings of 30 pairs of JiaZi 甲子 with its assigned hexagram as the following: - 1. These are the predecessors to the commonly known 64 DaGua Ring 大卦盤. HEAVEN YUAN 天元 – LIANSHAN PRINCIPAL HEXAGRAM 連山本卦 LianShan 連山 is the oldest form of Gua arrangement, believed to have been from the Xia Dynasty through the scripture of LianShan, now extinct. LianShan 連山 is pictorially mountain above mountain, represented by the Gen Gua 艮卦 nested within the Qian sector. Gen takes over Qian – the same arrangement to what is known as the Early Heaven sequence. Therefore, it is also known as the Heaven Yuan Principal Hexagram Order 天元本卦. In the order of the 60 Penetrating Earth Dragon 透地龍, it takes the HongLuan JiaZi arrangement 紅鸞甲子, where JiaZi 甲子 raised Xie Gua 解卦. In some school, this 60 Heaven Yuan LianShan Principal Gua Penetrating Earth Dragon 天元連山本卦透地龍 is an extension to Lai BuYi 賴布衣 Human Plate Middle Needle, RenPan ZhongZhen 人盤中針. HUMAN YUAN 人元 – ZHOUYI PRINCIPAL HEXAGRAM 周易本卦ZhouYi 周易 is the “latest” form of Gua arrangement, believed to have been created by Zhou WenWang 周文王, that we commonly called YiJing . ZhouYi 周易 is modelled against the Later Heaven sequence with Qian Gua as the principal Gua, with 4 cardinal Gua removed namely Li, Kan, Zhen and Dui. Because ZhouYi 周易 is modelled against the natural order, it is also known as the Human Yuan Principal Hexagram Order 人元本卦. In the order of the 60 Penetrating Earth Dragon 透地龍, it also takes the HongLuan JiaZi arrangement 紅鸞甲子, where JiaZi 甲子 raised Bi Gua 比卦. Surprisingly, this is not use in KanYu. Now, you know the pedigree of “Master Trainer” from Money squeezing Academy of Chinese metaphysics (MsAocm) of Bolehland teaching ZhouYi 周易 as the principal Hexagram for 64 DaGua 大卦. Where he gets this idea from? EARTH YUAN 地元 – GUIZANG PRINCIPAL HEXAGRAM 歸藏本卦GuiZang 歸藏 is the second oldest form of Gua arrangement, believed to have been from the Shang Dynasty, now extinct. GuiZang 歸藏 means return to the concealment or containment, represented by the Kun Gua nested within the Qian sector. Kun takes over Qian – the same arrangement to what is known as the Middle Heaven sequence. Therefore, it is also known as the Earth Yuan Principal Hexagram Order 地元本卦. In the order of the 60 Penetrating Earth Dragon 透地龍, it takes the HongLuan JiaZi arrangement 紅鸞甲子, where JiaZi 甲子 raised Shen Gua 頣卦. In some school, this 60 Earth Yuan GuiZang Principal Gua Penetrating Earth Dragon 地元歸藏本卦透地龍 is an extension to YangGong Earth Plate, DiPan 地盤. PENETRATING TIGER AND DRAGON YUAN 穿龍虎元 – OBSCURE HEAVEN PRINCIPAL HEXAGRAM 渾天本卦Not many people heard of HongLuan JiaZi 紅鸞甲子. Even lesser people know of Obscure Heaven Hexagram 渾天卦. Other contemporary scholars believed that this arrangement were created much later by Zhang JiuYi 張九儀, through his writing such as Earth Principle Penetrating Mountain and Earth True Transmission 地理穿山透地真傳, is the so called - Middle Heaven 中天卦, only known by people of that school. Most of the Hexagrams were repeated and were assigned throughout the 60 Penetrating Earth Dragon 透地龍 taking the Penetrating Mountain JiaZi 穿山甲子 instead, where JiaZi 甲子 raised Kan Gua 坎卦. In some school, this Penetrating Tiger and Dragon Yuan Obscure Heaven Principal Gua Penetrating Earth Dragon 穿龍虎元渾天本卦透地龍 is an extension to YangGong Heaven Plate, TianPan 天盤. Very strange that such was never mentioned in the 3 collections of YangGong classics, wonder if it is really the genuine teaching of YangGong FengShui? THE THREE YUAN 三元In conclusion, because ZhouYi 周易 is not used in the art of KanYu, therefore 3 out of 4 rings namely: -
These 3 sets of 60D rings form the foundation of the Great SanYuan 大三元. Later days masters, probably as the first generation of SanYuan schools, restructure these Great SanYuan 大三元 and assigned what is probably known as the LianShan GuiZang Gua 連山歸藏卦 into the Circle and Square Diagram 方圓圖, where it became the basis of the 64 DaGua Ring 大卦盤. Only the Heaven and Earth Plate was shown. There is the “missing” Human Plate of the SanYuan DaGua. The true application is in the “missing” Human Plate of the SanYuan DaGua. This is another story for another time… TO BE CONTINUE, MAYBE…
SANYUAN YINYANG XIANTIAN BAGUAThere are plenty of SanYuan schools teaching SanYuan stuff without knowing the true foundations of SanYuan. Some confused SanYuan as Flying Star and some even confused SanYuan is XuanKong school. These haphazard phenomenon is mushrooming in the west, brought about by eastern teachers, with most of them having acquire their skills through reading published literature, experimental with the occults and often without approval from any lineages. They also called lineage sucks! With its absent, many of the rock bottom fundamentals of SanYuan is lost in time. One of them being how you split your YinYang in the SanYuan school. Only true SanYuan school would able to demonstrate such. This is the FIRST TIME the secret of the SPLITTING OF THE YINYANG IN SANYUAN has been disclosed to the public within the English Speaking community. Never has this secret been revealed! In time to come, if any of the teacher teaching this piece of information and they are not coming from our establishment, you know well that the knowledge that they acquired are secondary and less authentic. Truly, there are too many rubbish floating around in disguise as genuine FengShui courses. Buyers beware!
THE FORMATION OF THE EARLY HEAVEN BAGUA
The separation of YnYang in this order is also the foundations of how the 8 Trigram within the early heaven BaGua spiral outward from the central TaiJi. This is how one should correctly arrange the BaGua. COMMENTARYWhen we say this is how SanYuan splits its YinYang, it meant to say how the Early Heaven Gua comes into position. Just by arranging its YinYang, the YinYang Yao of the respective Gua has been emerged from TaiJi, one layer after another. Foremost the fundamental YinYang at the time when the Heaven and Earth settle position must be taken into account. - what sort of YinYang would you reckoned? Left turning Yang, right turning Yin? Or simply the differentiation of the putrid with the sublime? Do you label your DaGua with this YinYang? What appeared to be a simple YinYang boundaries when juxtaposed among one another through the dimensions of Earth Man and Heaven, subliminally clustered itself as wedge Trigram, dialectically known in YiJing Yao in the sequence known as Early Heaven arrangement. This congenital arrangement is the fundamental of SanYuan and all its other components. Yoked within these sandwich of Yao lines reflect the neologism of what probably be the earliest natalist view of the anthropocosmo. Singular Yin and singular Yang will not reproduce and therefore its inherent infertility require the upend of nature dialectically Yang YunSong's view - Dian DianDao or Dao DianDian? Strangely, it is only the Old Yang Old Yin and Young Yin Young Yang are to be found in the middle Yao - the Human Yao, thus rendered the entire notion of fertility lies upon the hand of the human being? The Middle Heaven? Where exactly is this Human Plate within the SanYuan pantheon of stars? Next, what is the second and the third layers? One begets two, two begets three and three are the mother of the myriad things. This is the order of the day. Therefore, one ought to arrange your YinYang from the two slices to the BaGua, then the 24 mountains, to the 64 Gua and the 72 Dragons. In such an instance, who on earth would want to challenge this very fundamental question? Vividly remember not long ago, someone disagree with this hypothesis of how SanYuan YinYang was split. The fundamental axis is thus between Chou and Wei, see also which part of the Heaven it measures? The response of Master Hung HinCheong to our post Leaning Star Oral Secret, he wrote, “You're right. That ring's pedigree is suspect. Some Flying Stars schools don't use Replacement Stars at all, and I think that's the smart thing to do.”, caused us to think further. We dug up some of Hung’s writing – Water, Water Everywhere and there is a nugget or two for us to share here… CENTRAL AND MARGINAL FACING 正表向Hung wrote… In many FengShui texts, classical and modern, a given facing is differentiated into "Central 正向" or "Marginal 表向", and each is treated differently. In modern mathematical language, a facing is described as "Central" if it lies within a band of -±4.5° from the center-line of a Mountain on the LuoPan. For example, the center-line of Zi (子) is 0°. Hence any facing between 355.5° and 4.5° is said to be facing "Central" Zi (正子向). Another example: Gui (癸) is centered on 15°; any facing between 10.5° and 19.5° is described as facing "Central" Gui (正癸向). The total bandwidth of a "Central" facing is therefore 9°. Any facing outside that band is deemed to be a "Marginal" facing. To be more precise: Zi (子) is centered on 0°, and Gui (癸) is centered on 15°. Any facing in between 4.5° and 10.5° is called "Marginal" between Zi and Gui (子兼癸,癸兼子). The total bandwidth of a "Marginal" facing is 6°. That of course is the modern definition, making use of the 360° compass ring at the periphery of the LuoPan disc. However, this ring was a relatively recent addition to the LuoPan. Before that, the definition of "Marginal" relied on the "240 Dragons Gold Divisions (二百四+龍分金)", and the term "3-7 Gold Divisions (三七分金)" was often quoted. Some readers may have come across this term in their general reading. As a matter of fact, the 6° bandwidth for "Marginal" was set conservatively. It allowed a generous margin for error, mindful that the LuoPan needle and markings were not very accurate in the old days. My own view is that we need not be so uptight about the prescribed margins. The underlying idea is to get away from the boundary line between 2 Mountains, and our modern LuoPan enables us to do that with greater confidence. ASSISTANT STAR WATER METHOD 後天水法Hung wrote... For a variety of reasons, a facing may have to be set within the "Marginal" band. In that event, it is necessary to be aware that the "Marginal" band is usable for certain Mountains, but not for others. In a nutshell, the "Marginal" band between 2 adjacent Mountains of the same polarity is usable, whereas the band is out of bounds if the 2 adjacent Mountains are of opposite polarities. However, there are 2 exceptions to the rule: Xun (巽) and Si (巳) are both Yin Mountains, but the "Marginal" band between them is out of bounds. The reasoning is a little convoluted: Si (巳) is part of the NaJia family of the Trigram Dui (兌), and You (西) is another member of the same family. Now You (西) and Xun (巽) are incompatible by the "8 Killing Forces" formula. Si (巳) is implicated by virtue of its family connection with You (西). Hence a facing in between Xun (巽) and Si (巳) is deemed too risky; The same argument applies to the band between the adjacent Mountains You (西) and Xin(辛). In this case, Xin(辛)is the adopted child of Xun (巽), and hence the "Marginal" band between You (西) and Xin(辛)also becomes inadmissible. This discussion on admissibility of "Marginal" bands takes on a new dimension when it comes to measuring Qi mouth locations to determine the incoming and outgoing waters. Whereas a facing is an axis that can be set precisely, a Qi mouth is something 3 over which we have very little control. It is fairly common to encounter a Qi mouth wide enough to straddle over 2 adjacent Mountains. There is no issue if the 2 Mountains are of the same polarity, but what if they are not? Going strictly by the book, such water flows are deemed negative. The jargon term is "Yin and Yang confused (陰陽差錯)'. But such a narrow interpretation is unduly restrictive in practice. I tend to take a more liberal approach. If the major part of the qi mouth, say 70% or more, falls under One Mountain, I would consider it a single Mountain reading, comparable to a "Central" facing. Only if the qi mouth sits smack in between 2 adjacent Mountains, with a 50-50 or 60-40 split between yin and yang, would I reject it as unsuitable. 240 DRAGONS GOLD DIVISION 二百四+龍分金Hung wrote… In a typical SanHe LuoPan, there are the 72-Dragons ring (also called a plate), one or more 60-Dragons rings; and one or two 120-Dragons rings. There is one other ring in this genre that is omitted on LuoPan other than out-sized ones (12-inch and above). This is the 240-Dragons ring, also called "240-Dragons Gold Divisions (二百四+龍分金). As the name suggests, the ring is sub-divided into 240 fine divisions, with 10 divisions under each of the 24 Mountains. This ring is used to assess the intensity of qi received from a particular Mountain for any given facing. A Mountain's Qi is strongest at its center-line, gradually reducing to zero at the center-line of the adjacent Mountain on either side. At the boundary between 2 Mountains, the qi split is 50-50. If a given facing receives 70% or more of the qi from one Mountain, it is called a "Central facing (正向)". If the facing receives less than 70% qi from one Mountain (say, a 60-40 or 50-50 split between 2 adjacent Mountains), it is called a "Marginal facing (表向)”. Today, the demarcation between "Central" and "Marginal" can be defined using the 360° compass ring at the periphery of the modern LuoPan, but this ring was a relatively recent addition; it was not available in the older LuoPan. So do we still have to bother with the 240-Dragons when we have the modern 360° ring? That depends: no need if we just want to use the LuoPan without bothering with the underlying theory; yes if we want to broaden our FengShui knowledge. If one reads old texts or spends time surfing the FengShui websites, then familiarity with the "240-Dragons Gold Divisions" will provide a deeper insight into various discussions. To analyze the 240-Dragons ring, let us straighten out 2 arc segments, each segment spanning 30°. The first segment is centered on Zi (子) with Ren(壬) at one end and Gui (癸) at the 4 others. The second segment is centered on Gui (癸) with Zi (子) at one end and Chou (丑) at the other. The segments overlap, and the fine divisions are graded with a numerical value rising from 0 to 10 and then falling back to 0. The dashed lines 7-3 and 3-7 demarcate between "Central" and "Marginal" facings. The region between those 2 lines, marked by a hatched box, represents the "Marginal" band between Zi (子) and Gui (癸) Mountains. There are similar "Marginal" bands between Ren(壬) and Zi (子); and between Gui (癸) and Chou (丑). The scale in maroon at the bottom denotes the modern 360° compass, whereby the center of Zi (子) Mountain corresponds to 0° Magnetic North. The "Marginal" band between Zi (子) and Gui (癸) would correspond with 7.5±3° on this scale. One often sees the term "3-7 Gold Divisions also called "Plus Minus 3-7 (三七分金)", in FengShui books and websites. It really means nothing more the demarcations described above. Some people like to use complicated language to describe simple ideas. Sometimes the term "2-8 Gold Divisions (二八分金)" or "Plus Minus 2-8 (二八加減)" also appears, often in the same breath as "3-7". When one compares the Earth Plate with the Heaven Plate, it will be seen that "3-7" on the Earth Plate is in fact the same line as "2-8" on the Heaven Plate, and vice versa. They are really one and the same thing. According to Master Li Ding Xin (李定信), who was until recently the reigning Doyen of Yang Gong FengShui [He passed away in 2012, age 90], many FengShui writers, historical and modern, are confused and use the terms haphazardly. So the next time someone comes along brandishing jargon terms like "Plus Minus 3-7" and "Plus Minus 2-8", just ask him about the "240-Dragons". LEANING STAR REPLACEMENT STAR 飞星替星This marginal degree of 3° at each extreme side closer to the boundary of the two mountains that made up the 6° are considered by some SanYuan FeiXing as Replacement Star band. Any star that reside thereafter must be replaced by the set of new stars as represented in the Replacement Star Ring. Some school of XuanKong Purple White do not subscribe to this principle. Some school also do not agree with the version of the Replacement Star Ring used, currently at 28 varieties. This Replacement Star Ring is interesting. In total you will get the following sequence from the opposite mountains combined: -
The question is could this Ring tells you something beyond just the greatly misunderstood Kun Ren Yi? HOW TO APPLY?For example, House sitting Gui 23 degree, facing Ding, Period 8. By conventional Natal chart, you will get as in A. However, because 23 degree sitting very close to Chou, a Replacement Star may be necessary. Based on the Replacement Star Ring, Sitting Gui replacement shall be 1 replacing 4. Facing Ding replacement shall be 9 replacing 3. The new Replacement Natal chart shall look like B. CONCLUSIONContemplate this, quote from BengKung's wisdom saying, "The four formations, Water, Fire, Metal and Wood are further differentiated into Yin and Yang formations. Clockwise which is Yang, the direction is from Zi to Chou to Xu to Hai. Anti-clockwise which is Yin, the direction is from Wu to Si to Shen to Wei. Altogether there are 8 formations. 4 Yang and 4 Yin formations. Master Yang always stressed on the basic principle of Yin and Yang. YinYang is formless whereas CiXiong refers to Yin Yang with form. Interaction of CiXiong refers to the interaction between mountain and water. Xuan Kong refers to the Qi whether Sheng Qi (thriving) or Si Qi (Dead). The auspicious or inauspicious Qi from the In-Coming mountain or Out-Going water are related and are based on the 12 Qi phase. Whether it is male/Yang or female/Yin, it is derived from within the Gua. This is referring to the Yin and Yang of the 24 mountains. This is only given to inner disciples."
Therefore, if you believe that the YinYang Earth Plate of the SanHe LuoPan Ring, as assigned by virtue of Early Heaven and NaJia is correct, you better think twice! The YinYang Earth Plate of the SanHe LuoPan Ring, as assigned by virtue of Early Heaven and NaJia is mainly used for RuDiYan's Assistant Star Water Method. "The concept of mountain (in-coming Qi) and water (out-going Qi) which is fundamental and must be understood clearly. Whether it is auspicious or inauspicious are all due to the mountain and water location in relation to the concept of the 12 Qi phase. The mountain here refers to In-Coming and water refers to Out-Going. A concept misinterpreted as actual mountain and actual water." Do you know why the why the Five Ghost Carry Treasure aka Assistant Star Water Method cannot work? Placing "mountains" on LianZhen position? "To understand this methodology, it is all within the concept of the 5 elements. This concept refers to NaYin 5 elements which is established by the 72 dragons. It is not referring to NaJia which is a different concept. The five elements are allocated in the four directions with Wood in the East, Metal in the West, Water in the North and Fire in the South. It is also allocated in the 24 mountains. The concept of turning upside down 倒倒颠 refers to the 72 dragons, where there are five elements within each of the 24 mountains. With the concept of turning upside down, there are treasures within each of the 24 mountains. There are always three elements within the 24 mountains which is usable to match the in-coming Qi and water-mouth which is the out-going Qi. Forward and backward refers to the understanding of establishing the Yin or Yang formation. Without using the correct formation there is the likelihood of meeting with fire pits. Recognize the golden dragon is to establish the formation. Metal, Wood, Fire or Water. The location and the position in relation to the water mouth and the in-coming dragons are all different. (Endless possibilities) Moving or still refers to whether there is any Qi, whether it is strong Qi or weak Qi, whether it is auspicious or inauspicious Qi. Requires the teaching from a sage." In fact, there are plenty of clues that RuDiYan may be a bridge between SanHe and SanYuan. Replacement Star and its corresponding central and marginal reading may not be that wrong after all, if we were to take the actual reasons of 3/7 and 2/8 as the measurement of Qi intensity accordingly and not for the account of inaccurate LuoPan readings. As for the validity of the Replacement Star Ring, it has been grossly misunderstood as part of Kun Ren Yi by Jiang DaHung. He distorted and explained these verses using XuanKong DaGua thus introducing the idea of combination to 10. Coupled with the variants from the SanHe proponent, you now have the 28 confusing versions. SANYUAN DEVIATION XuanKong is a small offspring of the Huge SanYuan. It is the brainchild of JiangDaHung. Flying Star is a small offspring of XuanKong. It is the brainchild of ShengJuReng. These are often misunderstood methods. They may be formulated by the same rudiment of HeTu, LoShu, Early or Later Heaven BaGua, yet their fundamentals are entirely different. Once this fundamental is derailed from the huge SanYuan, they are no longer authentic. They are offsprings - a deviation technique. If XuanKong is a deviation of SanYuan and FeiXing is a deviation of XuanKong, it is only logical to say FeiXing is a hyper deviation of SanYuan. Therefore FeiXing that we knew today is not the true SanYuan. More detail read HERE. SANYUAN FUNDAMENTALS SanYuan fundamentals are always LoShu numerals and Early Heaven Gua imagery to derive Qi. Together it embodies what is known as Li, Qi and Xiang - the body or the static principle. In application, it uses the Later Heaven Gua to map direction and location. Yet Qi in SanYuan is still measurable in a manner of HeTu. Therefore a term is coined - GuaQi or HeTu Qi. A true SanYuan is to find a connection between these Qi in a combination of HeTu, 10, 5 and 15. This is how SanYuan connect Qi. SANYUAN QI MAP 三元气图Before you even attempt to explain SanYuan landform, you must first understand how to map Qi in SanYuan. The LoShu is the ideal SanYuan Qi map. It begins in the centre 5 moves to 6 Northwest. From the 6 it moves to 7 west and completes in 8 Northeast. From 8 it moves to 9 south and 1 north meeting 2 southwest. The last path is to take flight from 3 east and finally returns to 4 southeast. 6 is where Qi begins and 4 is where Qi ends. This combo 10 is the key Qi connections. 73, 82, 19 are the intermediaries of Qi connectors. This is your SanYuan Human Plate. In BaZhai, they are called YanNian. Combo 5 is referred to the combination of GuaQi for all the Qi at the initial or known as the beginning - 32 and 14. Combo 15 is referred to the combination of GuaQi for all the Qi at the destination or known as the completion - 96, 78. 1234 and 6789 are but a special Qi connection known as pearl string - the earth plate. In BaZhai they are called TianYi. HeTu combo of 16, 27, 38, 94 are pure Qi - the 4 imagery, the Heaven Plate. In BaZhai, they are called ShengQi. QIANKUN GUOBAO LANDFORM 乾坤国宝地形QianKun GuoBao or LongMen BaJu is a deviation technique of SanYuan landform. The main technique always required one to connect Qi of the main 8 trigrams. If your dragon comes from 6, you must sit 1. Same is applied to 72, 38 and 94. HeTu Qi connection is the 1st grade. Follow by combo 10, 5/15. Since dragon and water are a combo 10, dragon comes from 6 means water is at 4. Facing therefore is 9. Again HeTu combo. HeTu Qi connection is the 1st grade. Follow by combo 10, 5/15. Therefore Dragon, sitting, facing and water becomes the key structural component for SanYuan. QKGB has more considerations, EH and LH water must not be broken is another key criteria. Breaking or water exiting the EH means health matter is involved. Breaking or water exiting the LH means wealth matter is involved. There is also another concept called water must meet at the Middle Heaven before exiting Heavenly Robbery. What is mid heaven is the close guarded secret of QKGB sect and Heavenly Robbery is the LH of the LH water position. Now, this is mind boggling! WATER MOUTH 水口One important factor of QKGB is the 4 major water mouth. Strangely like SanHe it has to conform to the 4MWM. Who on earth would wonder what has this SanHe requirement got to do with SanYuan? Indeed the closely guarded secret of QKGB mid heaven Gua is this water mouth. SANYUAN LANDFORM 三元地形QKGB has given us a general impression of how SanYuan landform analysis should take position. It introduces the 4 structural components of dragon, sitting, facing and water. Collectively these are the key structure of the so called DaGua. But.... Wait a minute, before going into 64 DaGua, you must first reckoned with the 24 mountains. This is the true technique of SanYuan Leaning Star. SANYUAN LEANING STAR 三元挨星法It has disclosed that the key differences between the authentic SanYuan compared to the non authentic FeiXing. It can be summarised that: - 1. Authentic SanYuan uses HeTu GuaQi same with DaGua. 2. Emphasis is on HeTu, combo 10, 5/15 as analysis compared to Period Sheng and Wang analysis. 3. Authentic SanYuan flying star is different. However, it did not reveal as to how an authentic SanYuan 'fly their stars'. The correct term should be leaning star - the missing close guarded secret. Remember, we said that The first palace that Qi moves is 6 and it ends in 4 in the LoShu? 5 and 10 in the centre is where Qi begins and end - YuanKong, the primordial origins. So, 6 is referred to your incoming dragon and 4 the water locations - this is a static principle. 《青囊序》说:“山上神龙不下水,水里神龙不上山”You just need to be creative in a dynamic application where Qi moves, incoming dragon moves. That is your dragon god! This movement of your dragon God will give you a SanYuan natal chart called the SanYuan Qi map. Replace this Qi map by carefully selecting your siting trigram so that there is a combination of HeTu, 10, 5/15 with the incoming dragon God thus fulfilling sitting matching dragon. By such you would have determined the 24 mountains based on SanYuan Leaning Star matching landform. Next you may narrow down to the 64 hexagram SanYuan DaGua. This is another tale for another time. IN CONCLUSION This method of SanYuan Leaning Star has never been disclosed before by any master in the English medium forum. In time to come you will find many existing masters modifying their teaching to include such but yet without the Key, the application would be very dangerous. This SanYuan predates any of the known school in the market be it Shen JuReng, Jiang DaHung, Zhang ZhongShan, Tan YangWu, WuChang and so forth. Please do learn only from an authentic master! Caveat: This method illustrated above required other considerations not disclosed here... Great care must be taken into considerations. REGISTRATION OF INTERESTAll SanYuan methods must conform to this arrangement. It is how SanYuan measures the Heaven. If one is not able to discern its core configurations, any application of SanYuan method will be futile and one is not able to merge SanYuan to SanHe. In fact, SanHe is so predominantly fundamental that only SanYuan is able to achieve miracles. There is wisdom in saying first class master looks for the stars, second class master look for the water mouth and third class master run around the mountains seeing nothing. It shows to say the fundamental of water mouth SanHe FengShui is still very valid before one able to discern the stars and the constellations. Sadly, such has been omitted in most modern schools of Chinese Metaphysics.
WHO IS YANGGONG?There are 2 versions to the History of Great Grandmaster Yang JungSong 楊筠松. The first version as most of us were told, the Great Grandmaster Yang JungSong, the official historical logbook 《南安府志》 reads: “Yang JungSong 楊筠松, citizen of Dou Zhou 竇州, was an officer during the reign of Xi Zhong 僖宗. He was in charge of Spiritual and Feng Shui Affairs. He reached the highest position of Golden Purple Light Prosperity Minister 金紫光祿大夫. When rebels headed by Huang Cao 黃巢 broke into the capital city, he cut short his hair and fled to Mount Kunlun 昆侖山." The second version as rarely known, the Great Grand master Yang JungSong 楊筠松 was never be found in the official historical records of the Historian. There was however, a very small position held by him as a prison warden. Fate has brought him to encounter a prisoner who is a well versed FengShui master known as Qiu YanHan 丘延翰. In an attempt to help this prisoner to escape, he was taught YuHan Jing, the Classics of Jade Envelope 玉函经. The Great Grandmaster Yang JungSong 楊筠松, as the warden, later shown a partly decomposed corpse to the Emperor, convincing his majesty that the deceased is indeed the FengShui master Qiu YanHan 丘延翰 that has been condemned to death. Predicting that his deception may not last forever, he took an incident in the palace to flee to FuJian. Which one is real? WHAT OTHERS HAD TO SAY?"Apparently most KanYu ( FengShui ) after Tang and early Song dynasty are either bogus, misleading, or flaw.... And the ancient ones has specified very clearly; like a physician using the wrong approach will lead patient to dire consequences, vis-a-vis Fengshui practitioner who uses the wrong approaches will make matter worse. But of course, the methods have been kept as secret ... transfer only to the trusted ones with the utmost honesty, ethical character and upright personality. Intelligence is secondly - hard to find such people these days. ", - James Liew. [Yifengshui note]: Qiu YanHan 丘延翰 being the contemporary to YiXing 一行, both had their hands in corrupting FengShui classics during the notorious Tang Dynasty so that the neighboring barbaric countries such as Korea and Japan will not prosper surpassing China. Such hideous act has also been the hallmark of modern contemporary masters that only wish to serve their masters with regardless to ethics and moral. One point in mind: -
[Yifengshui note]: Qiu YanHan 丘延翰 finally has to face his very own Karma. He found an emperor producing spot and owing to such, he was thrown into the prison. What happened thereafter, was claimed to be a faithful encounter with Yang YunSong, who is claimed to be responsible of freeing him. He left and started his very own lineage of FengShui, only to be survived by Qing BuZi, the Green Cloth Master 青布子, who sets out a totally different approach to FengShui and the forerunner of SanYuan DaGua. THE EULOGY OF QIUGONGThis piece of work called the Eulogy Of QiuGong was claimed to have been written in the Tang Dynasty. Yet, the nature of the prose is very unpolished compared to the work of his disciple, YangGong. It is strongly believed that it has been written by very much later scholars notably from the SanYuan school. Most of the doctrines inclined towards SanYuan methodology compared to SanHe. Most likely also the original passage was not spared from being bastardized just liked the other classics. So care has to be taken when reading this work. The beginning passage was laden by method pointing towards antiquity notably the use of WuYin as the principle factor for establishing the SanBan Gua, now known as the FuMu SanBan Gua. It says nothing about the east and west river FuMu SanBan Gua. It is all about the categorisation of SanBan Gua based on WuYin. How did Jiang DaHung came about FuMu SanBan Gua? DISCUSSION..."Has people know of SanBan Gua", Qiu YanHan is challenging others of the secrets of San BanGua, the real family of the Hexagram, before even JinFang proposes his version of the BaGong Gua, that is so commonly use in XuanKong DaGua. This is absolutely wrong.
"Green Satchel since ancient time is a mystery to the literate one", obviously he is well versed with the work of Yellow Stone also called Red Pine Master. The secret of SanBan Gua is within the Green Satchel? "WuYin (The 5 Tonal Values) commonly make known the SanBan Gua, The 8 nobles entirely seek the 6 noble dragon", Qiu YanHan specifically state the the basis of SanBan Gua is WuYin. But what is the 8 nobles seeking the 6 noble dragons? 8 Guas, discarding the parent Gua and use the children Gua, just like what the XuanKong LiuFa people advocated? "SanBan DaGua (Huge Hexagram) how to obtain?", Qiu YanHan specifically say that to obtain this Huge Haxagram, "3 Auspicious to seek is most good,", but what are these 3 auspicious "Five elements growth prosper must be proficient,", this single word itself confused many as though DaGua is applied in that manner. The usual question is what produce what? What controls what? "Facing water establish burial derive within,", this single statement comprises 3 components, most SanYuan people would say, namely Facing, Water Exit to establish the sitting Mountain. This sitting mountain Gua is what known as the principal Gua, "But to use facing within wear obtain the body Gua,". So, the reference point is always the sitting Gua as the host, the rest are the guests. The predominant factor is vested on the YinYang flow of water, "Generally to know the flow of water auspicious or inauspicious.". By the same token, Qiu YanHan is suggesting that, "Five elements growth prosper must be proficient", is applied to YinYang water flows. This is the basis of your San BanGua. FengShui is a term strictly referred to as the art of harnessing ShengQi. Looking at a natal chart and predict where is ShengQi and ShaQi and to decide where to sit and face is not FengShui. This is Divination, the art of divinity based on numerology, imagery and Qi. Its method is far reaching ranging from QiMen SanShi to YiGua and BaZi to the very extend of XuanKong DaGua. Yet, since time immemorial, it is considered as part and parcel of FengShui, formerly called ZhaiBu, the Divination of a House. Modern practitioner may use both arts in synchronicity. As example, they may do a divination before even attempting to visit the site for an audit. This is by mean of opening up a QiMen or a ZiBai Natal Chart and read the ingredient thereof. From the chart they are able to discern where is the incoming Qi, outgoing Qi, ShaQi and where is the best location to locate the main door, thus establishing siting and facing. This is called remote sensing. The customer would be thrilled by the practitioner's ability of clairvoyance and often mistaken as a living angel. However, this is Not FengShui! Upon reaching the site, a FengShui practitioner will evaluate the capacity of a site by taking into consideration the macro incoming and outgoing Qi, to establish its Qi maps. The same is applied to the immediate external and follow through towards the compound of the property, so that every layers are consistent to a structure. This is the art of harnessing Qi. The interior of the property is arranged to conform to such structure as to allow Qi to flow unobstructed. The art of harnessing is through the Xue, not one but multiples. SanHe method is employ to where Qi begins. SanYuan method is employ to where Qi ends. They are both complementary and these are genuine FengShui and they are not guess work such as divination. What if the site conditions contradicted the divination outcome? Which take precedent? This often happen. FengShui method is grounded on specific methodology almost scientific in nature. Divination is by virtue of synchronicity and probability almost guess work. Which do you think is likely to bring result? Point in discussion...There is case point worth discussing and it is called XianTian SanYuan QiMen DunJia XuanKong DaGua (XTSYQMDJXKDG) what a mouthful words for a simple term of Early Heaven Three Cycle Mysterious Gate Hiding the Jia Mysterious Void Huge Hexagram. Gosh... Gasping for air pronouncing it. This method is made popular by the late grandmaster Zheng ZiNan hailed from Taiwan who had lived a ripe age of 100 and had built an empire of wealth for his family. His life is the epitome of a true genuine master who prosper himself before others. When he came to Taiwan, he use the term SanYuan DiLi or SanYuan Earth Study to differentiate himself among the peers. He advocated his technique called XieZiFa and the results driven application has impacted the industry of his time. He is among the pioneer to give warranty for his work, unmatched by others. By self-confession, he never disclose his method to anyone outside his family circle. Yet, as we see today, there are so many "clones". Some of these clones, learnt the similar art from HongKong, similar is the operative word. The late grandmaster ChenBeiSheng was the torch bearer of XuanKong DaGua he claimed as MiaoPai. He advocated the key in applying XKDG is in QMDJ. Therefore, XTSYQMDJXKDG is XieZiFa. Unfortunately, we don't subscribed to this statement. There are two arms to this method. One is QMDJ and the other XKDG. QMDJ is the art of the Divination and XKDG is the art of Connecting Qi. So, together it is a complete technique. Banking on the expansive investment of learning this art, many clones started teaching QMDJ in 4 instalments, namely QMDJ-Divination, QMDJ-Life Reading, QMDJ-FengShui and QMDJ-Strategy. Some clones go as far as teaching QMDJ-witchcraft, QMDJ-art of war, QMDJ-hoccuspoccus and so forth. They denied the fact that fundamentally, they are the same - the art of divination. How to connect the dots? It begins with the understanding of Heaven Earth and Man. Each has its own natal chart. QMDJ-Life Reading will tell you that QMDJ can be used to read your Life like BaZi. It is even better than ZiPing BaZi, the clones called it BaZi+. Based on your solar date and time of birth, a QMDJ chart is constructed. It is supposed to be uniquely You. The natal chart is fixed, but the palaces are dynamic and it reflects your Destiny. When you add another layer of XKDG, you will get the Hexagram, that is specially and uniquely Your Life Hexagram. This natal chart will form the very basis of You and You must never deviate away from the prescription of this chart, otherwise it is bad omen. After knowing yourself, you must know what is around you. This is where QMDJ-Divination becomes handy. This aspect aligns traditionally as the Hour School QMDJ, where the chart is derived from the Hour. Interpreting the charts differ among schools but its fundamentals are similar – interplay between host and guest to determine the useful god. Failure in doing so will result in a chaotic reading. When you add another layer of XKDG, you will get the simultaneous application of Purple White Hexagram that is the ultimate usage of the Purple White Scroll or ZiBaiJue. The simultaneous application of QMDJ-Divination with Annual and Replacement stars enable forecasting for any event, property, person and others including the ever familiar Eight Mansions techniques. Knowing what is around you is insignificant if you do not know how to unlock the secret of QMDJ and XKDG. This is where QMDJ-FengShui becomes handy. Besides the ability to perform “desk-top” FengShui or “remote-sensing” audit to a particular site or property, QMDJ-FengShui coupled with XKDG enable you to connect Qi wherever you please. Your ability in FengShui is no longer confined to the physical existence of Qi but to connect to the mystical abode of Qi so provided in QMDJ. Your ability in Qi connection will be transcended beyond merely receiving good incoming and expelling bad outgoing Qi to tapping to your wealthy neighborhood while living in a not so prosperous neighborhood. Turning misfortune into fortune is what probably coined as XieZiFa within a short time span. It is an art of wizardry, hardly anything one has known before. Unlocking the Secret of QMDJ XKDG is when you plan and execute your plan according to the will of Heaven including date selections that are not confined to only FengShui date selection but everything. The key is Plan and Execute! This is QMDJ-Strategy. When it is applied to War it is the Art of War. When it is applied to getting rich it is the Art of Wealth. It encompasses all the duration of short, medium and long term plans juggling among the Hour, Day and Year School QiMen. This is divination applied to execution par excellent as the saying goes, if you failed to Plan then plan to Fail and you will NEVER FAIL! In our school it goes hand in hand with QiMen LiuRen simultaneous applications. Not enough? Call in the ‘X-Men’ from another dimensions. This is traditionally termed FaQiMen. It is the art of both the ‘dark’ and the ‘white’ sides. In StarWars terminology, it is the use of the ‘Force’ between the Jedi Masters and the Sith Lords. Goes very well with any Daoist Lineages be it LiuRen ShenGong, MaoShan ShenGong, ZhenYi ShenGong, LvShan ShenGong and all that you can possibly find and it comes in very handy in Ghost Busting, gambling and ‘robbery’. Incantations and Talismans are the tools to summons the ‘X-Men’ to your assistance via QiMen Five Charms Five Ghosts techniques. In our school it goes hand in hand with QiMen LiuRen simultaneous applications. Afterthought...
Do you still want to learn?Apparently some claimed that the following YinYang, as available in most Chinese medium books, are wrong: -
It seems that whoever has the answer to these 4 items knows the true teaching of Grand-master Yang 楊筠松. I quote, "都天大卦总阴阳,玩水观水有主张,能知山情与水意,配合方可论阴阳。DaoTian DaGua (Celestial City Huge Hexagram) is always about Yin and Yang, it is how it analyzes the water. To understand the affection and meaning of the mountain and water, matching the directions using YinYang. Do you know the relation between Yin Yang and 山情与水意 (passionate mountain with desirous water)?" I quote again, "有乙辛丁癸之妇,宜配甲庚丙壬之夫,夫夫妇妇,雌雄牝牡。The reason why there is Yi, Xin, Ding, Gui as wives to match Jia, Geng, Bing, Ren as husbands. The husbands and wives, male and female. Do you know why they are considered husband and wife?" Again, I quote, "甲庚丙壬是阳位。乙辛丁癸是阴位。Do you know what is the rest for 乾坤艮巽 and 寅申巳亥? Why Grand-master Yang 楊筠松 only specify 8? ". These questions may look simple but the explanation are lengthy... I attempt to answer some. Commentary: 都天大卦 DaoTian DaGua (Celestial City Huge Hexagram) is the system of Hexagram based on the celestial stars that in ancient time were classified liked an imperial city with the ZiWei or the purple star enclosure as the King's chamber. Not sure what I am talking about, read HERE. Therefore, it is important to understand which part of the Heaven you are measuring if you use XKDG techniques. It divides the Heaven into YinYang. As above, so below - above has stars, below has mountains. Mountains are formed by the "pull" of the stars and as it displaces, rivers are formed. Yin is born out of Yang. The celestial stars are stationary. They are Yin. The nearest celestial bodies that "moves" like the Sun and the Moon are Yang. These are the 7 governors that influence waves (did I say NaYin?) on earth and thus governs water. Qi is the mother of water. Mountain and water is itself YinYang. The entire LienShan 连山 talks about mountain being Yang in appearance, Yin in qualities, while the entire GuiChang 归藏 talks about water being Yin in appearance, Yang in qualities. If you look at Gen Gua 艮 ☶ representing mountain, it has more Yin Yao but it takes the gender of Yang. A closer look at Gui Gua 兌 ☱ representing river, it has more Yang Yao but it takes the gender of Yin. To understand the affection and meaning of the mountain and water 山情与水意, there are 2 aspects to look at. In form, the sentimental flow of water 意 and the nobility of the mountains 情 are the affectionate mountain embracing the water. In formula, mountain and water 山情与水意 matching the directions using YinYang. The key is direction, referring to facing and location, referring to sitting. That is where the understanding of YinYang 24 mountains become crucial. Can FengShui works without the formula but just with forms? My take is - YES! 夫夫妇妇 Husband and Wife is all talking about - formation. Without the formation, there is no 都天大卦 DaoTian DaGua (Celestial City Huge Hexagram). The physical or form aspect, if you don't know read HERE! The formula aspect Dragon is always referring to the male and therefore Yang while the rivers are Yin therefore female. Here is where the normal SanHe and SanYuan clashes, just by this simple and innocent question, "Which is more important, Incoming or Outgoing Qi?" SanYuan school will just look for the incoming Qi and tap into it 旺. SanHe school will just look into the outgoing Qi 衰 and tap into whatever that is leftover. Such understanding is terribly wrong! Both schools reckoned that in order to know the incoming Qi 旺, you have to identify the outgoing Qi 衰. Furthermore, it is the concubines that arrive first before the emperor. Therefore, formation becomes important. In the absent of forms, 有乙辛丁癸之妇,宜配甲庚丙壬之夫,are the premise of the HeTu where 甲庚丙壬 are the Yang and 乙辛丁癸 are the Yin. When they come together it is where the 4 formations are born. Based on this premise alone, YangGong 楊筠松 derived its own "BaGua" and set the tone using the idea of the 12 growth phases that is entirely different from the set based on Real Yin Real Yang principle. If you again, cannot understand what Real Yin Real Yang are, read HERE! YangGong 楊筠松 only specify 8 for a reason that there are only 4 structures with its YinYang pairs. He also specify stems for the same reason of HeTu Qi. By now you would have realized that the 12 growth phases applied to SanHe 4 formations differ greatly from the 12 growth phases applied to Real Yin Real Yang principle 真阴真阳. It is for an undisclosed reason as to why it has to be liked that. The answer is that YangGong 楊筠松 is using HeTu to be his basis. Ironically, most SanHe LuoPan 24 mountain rings are based on Real Yin Real Yang principle 真阴真阳. That is why for a true YangGong practitioner, the YinYang 24 mountain rings are different! If you care to chart out all the possible frames you will also get the answer for the rest of the 16 mountains. Knowing this is nothing great, if you don't know how to apply it. In fact it is there in Hung HinCheong's book. Click HERE if you want to know. Yet, many still comfortably uses 12 growth phases applied to Real Yin Real Yang principle 真阴真阳 in BaZi reading? In fact, the entire Ru DiYan (入地眼) is based on this Real Yin Real Yang principle 真阴真阳 YinYang 24 mountain rings and it is also the forerunner of our modern day XuanKong DaGua! SanYuan, in the beginning do not even have the 24 mountains ring. It was adopted much later and its YinYang are entirely different from what we could see today with its Tian YuanLong, Di YuanLong and Ren YuanLong. It has its origin from the SanHe's Human Plate. This is talking about the Huge SanYuan 大三元 embraces all the sub schools of 8 mansions and DaGua 大卦, not to mention QianKun GuoBao (乾坤國寶) or LongMen BaJu (龍門八局). There are many masters who are not aware about that the Huge SanYuan 大三元 YinYang. All they know and were teaching is how to fly the Flying Star forward backward based on the SanYuan 24 mountains ring's YinYang and it is exactly what has been taught based on the popular Shen's XuanKong Flying star method. Trust me, most of them is still believing it is the only way to do SanYuan. All SanYuan formulas fall within this structure of YinYang. It shows to say that the YinYang threshold are within the "cross" 十道 and further splits into Old/Young YinYang right up to the 64 hexagram. It fits perfectly well with YangGong 楊筠松 "BaGua" with its basis in HeTu. Therefore its emphasis is on GuaQi or HeTu Qi and it became the fundamental tenets for eight mansions. 一六行龍四九去,三八入脈二七向;1-6 moving dragon 4-9 exiting, 3-8 incoming veins 2-7 facing and this is how the YinYang threshold of 8 mansions are derived from. 三元大卦要訣
