Real Yin, real Yang 真阴真阳 is the interval when Yang produces Yin and vice versa. What it really means is when the old Yang die, the new Yin is born, the real Yin and real Yang principle 真阴真阳 and it also reflects how Qi transformed from one body to another. In SanHe this principle was embedded within the structure of birth, prosperous and death formation to receive ShengQi 生气. Another name is 12 ChangShen 十二长生 or LiuQi 六氣. Detail read HERE.
REAL YIN REAL YANG EXPERIMENT...
Honestly speaking, explaining like this is trying to make a simple truth, complicated. The easiest way to understand this concept is as the illustration above : -
First, you have a group of people in a BOX with no light no ventilation - this is Yin. The total enclosure when reach its pinnacle is called the extreme Yin. People inside is feeling very uncomfortable and there is an urge to come out of the box.
Seeing such, GOD almighty lifted the lid to allow the group of people to come out. This is a turning point where it is said when the extreme Yin dies, the birth of Yang is taking place. This is a "white dot" in the ocean of darkness. It is so pure that it is called Real Yang 真阳. Some considered it as ShengQi 生气.
Those people in the Box will rush out into the OPEN, where space is wide and truly ventilated - this is Yang. The people rejoice in this new environment.
God almighty sees it as an opportunity to give these people a lesson. He brought out the Sun. It warms up the open spaces making them tired, exhausted, thirsty and sweaty. The open has reached its tipping point, it is called the extreme Yang. Those who is very uncomfortable with the heat will want to seek shelter.
These people ran back to the Box to escape the extreme Yang. Such turning point is when the extreme Yang dies, the birth of Yin is taking place. This is a "black dot" in the ocean of brightness. It is so pure that it is called Real Yin 真阴.
Theses people shut off the lid and start the process all over again...
REAL YIN REAL YANG IN THE 12 GROWTH PHASES
Take a good look at this chart. The Heavenly Stem are paired in their YinYang pairs such as JiaYi, BingDing, GengXin and RenGui. The earth elements of WuJi is left out on purpose. These Stems are arranged in columns to correspond to the rows, that are the sequence of 12 growth phases from Growth, Bath, Youth, Officer, Prosperous, Weakening, Sickness, Death, Grave, Extinct, Conceive and Nurture.
Take a closer look in Jia column. Jia wood dies in Wu, Yi wood is born in Wu. When Yi wood dies in Hai, Jia wood, in return, is born in Hai. It is illustrated in the purple highlight. Another case, Yang Fire Bing dies in You, Yin Fire Ding born in You. Yin Fire Ding dies in Yin, Yang Fire Bing is born in Yin. Just another example, Yang Metal Geng dies in Zi, Yin Metal Xin born in Zi. Yin Metal Xin dies in Si, Yang Metal Geng is born in Si. Yet another example, Yang Water Ren dies in Mao, Yin Water Gui born in You. Yin Water Gui dies in Shen, Yang Water Ren is born in Shen.
Such understanding forms the very basis of YinYang in SanHe methodology especially methods expounded in the classics called Ru DiYan (入地眼). Details HERE.
REAL YIN REAL YANG AND THE 4 MAJOR WATER MOUTHS
QingNan AoYou 青囊奥语 states the essence of the 4 major water mouths comprising namely, water, fire, metal and wood formations. When it is illustrated in a chart, it looks liked these:
Pic Credit: The Chinese Metaphysics Compendium, JY Publication.
The classics continue to say: -
Water exiting XinXu, will have incoming from Yi adjoining incoming Dragon from Bing and forms Fire Formation. Water exiting YiChen, will have incoming from Xin adjoining incoming Dragon from Ren to form Water Formations. Water exiting GuiChou will have incoming from Ding adjoining incoming Dragon of Geng to form Metal Formation. Water exiting DingWei will have incoming from Gui adjoining Jia incoming Dragon to form Wood Formation. These are the 4 major water mouths.
One may notice that the so called, incoming Dragons are all Yang Stem 甲丙庚壬 and all the incoming waters are all Yin Stem 乙丁辛癸. So, the Yang stem intercourse with the Yin stem to produce ShengQi 生气. The caveat is that incoming Dragons must meet the correct "consort" to produce ShengQi. When these are all said, you will notice the following illustration: -
Jia grows in Hai, dies in Wu which is surprisingly the growth of Yi. Yi grows in Wu, dies in Hai which is surprisingly the growth of Jia. Bing grows in Yin, dies in You which is surprisingly the growth of Ding. Ding grows in You, dies in Yin which is surprisingly the growth of Bing. Geng grows in Si, dies in Zi which is surprisingly the growth of Xin. Xin grows in Zi, dies in Si which is surprisingly the growth of Geng. Ren grows in Shen, dies in Mao which is surprisingly the growth of Gui. Gui grows in Mao, dies in Shen which is surprisingly the growth of Ren.
So, the Real Yin, real Yang 真阴真阳 is very much preserved. What it really means is when the old Yang die, the new Yin is born, when the old Yin die, the new Yang is born. These became the Real Cornerstone of SanHe!
It is also interesting to note that, for Wood Formation Gui is the Yin cycle to Jia and not Yi. For Fire Formation Yi is the Yin cycle to Bing and not Ding. For Metal Formation Ding is the Yin cycle to Geng and not Xin. For Water Formation, Xin is the Yin cycle to Ren and not Gui.
When you have to gloss this comprehension over the method in Ru DiYan (入地眼), you will notice how much its application had gone so very wrong. By the same token, end user techniques liked Five Ghost Carry Treasures (五鬼运财) may sometimes work, some times don't simply because the understanding of Real Yin, real Yang 真阴真阳 has practically gone off tangent.
